I can't read or type proper Arabic words on word, the letters appear but not the word what should I do?
Whenever I recieve a document with Arabic content, or try to type in Arabic, the letters appear but don't form a word.. how can I fix this?
It sounds like you might be using MS Word for Mac. This app has never supported connected Arabic. Instead you need to use Mellel (the best), TextEdit, Pages 5, Nisus Writer, or OpenOffice.
Please let us know more details if you have any problem typing here, or in TextEdit, or Mail, etc. Use the camera icon to post a screenshot what you are seeing.

Make sure in FaceFime>Video the correct Mic is selected
Also, go to System Preferences>Sounds>Input and make sure that mic is selected and the make sounds and see it the light light up with changes in volume. -
How can I read on my Apple Arabic files of Times New Roman or Arial fonts made in PC? when I get the files the Arabic letters are separate and not joined. Is there a common font in Arabic that can convert the Arabic PC Windows files to my Apple?

And when I get Power Point files made in PC Windows, they are like PDF, not Power Point!

I updated my iPad to 7.0.6 but I find the new look very irritating. In mail I can no longer swipe left on a message to erase it. The font in calendar is so small I can't read my appointments. I happen to like the yellow paper that was in notes. Can any of these preferences be adjusted?
You have to swipe from right to left to delete mail.
In the settings, accessibility you can make fonts bolder, that helps a bit.
THe yellow paper...sorry, no tweak for that unless you find a different notes app to use. -
I keep getting the message: "what should Firefox do with this file" in Windows XP every time I want to download a file, e.g., adobe, excel, etc. How can this annoying message be deleted? The check box to "open file automatically" does not work!

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway. -

I have a really annoying problem. command C andV stop working just in Microsoft Word. what should i do?i can't use them as shortcut keys in word documents! however they are working in other applications, the problem is just in word documents!I just had the same thing happen on my Macbook but was able to resolve it (at least for now!). Here's what I did:
Go to Tools>Customize Keyboard
You can then select 'edit' on the left side under categories. Then on the right side, you'll see lots of commands. Scroll down till you find the ones that aren't working. Ex. Editcopy, Editpaste.
Select each one and check to see if there is a command short cut. Ex. for editcopy it should read: "Command C"
If it does not (i.e. the problem), put the cursor in "Press new keyboard shortcut." Then press the command key along with the corresponding letter. Note you will not type the letters out but actually do the command. Then press "Assign." The shortcut command should then appear under 'Current Keys.' Go through and check all of the ones that aren't working for you.
BTW, this is a nifty was to add some cool commands that you use often. Ex. insert row on table, etc.
Quit Word and restart it. It should work. Hope that helps! -

I live in China as well and my iPhone5s is the model A1530 I bougth outside China. I have the same problem as Nikatnight with the iPhone while the iPad Air (wifi only) is working like a charm. It must be definitely something related to the carrier since I was abroad few days ago and everything worked well.
If you pay attention at the source of your maps, you'll discover they are provided by AutoNavi instead of TomTom and make them appear in chinese with their own border interpretation. Queries are only acceppted in Chinese (p.e. if I type in english "Los Angeles International Airport" it replies it cannot locate it)
I suppose everything will be fine when you'll be out of censorship....
Perhaps iOS Apple Maps are absolutely useless for expatriate in China.
Use Google Maps instead
BTW, I'm surprised how much Apple might prostrate towards hard power Governments.... No matter what, money are always on top! -

Once you are in Recovery Mode, it's too late to do any backup. I am afraid you are going to lose your data.

i have an ipad version 5.1.1. i have multiple albums in the ipad and i want to transfer some photos to my computer but when i open the ipad files via "computer" i can only see pictures from one of the albums.what should i do?
You can only import photos from the camera roll into the computer. Is that the album that you are seeing?
Any albums that you create on the device itself (the iPad that is) cannot be transferred to your computer. iPad created albums do not contain copies of your photos but merely pointers to those photos so they do not actually exist in those albums. -
I can't connect my mac to my TV, I have the right cables and have done it right but I still doesn't get the macscreen on the Tv, what should I do?
What are you getting on the TV? Are you getting a completely blank screen, or are you getting a message similar to 'no input detected'? Or are you seeing the spiral galaxy desktop? If you go into System Preferences -> Displays then do you have an 'Arrangements' tab?
