I can't receive emails in Thunderbird. Settings look correct. Not sure what the problem is.
My internet provider (TWC) said I should contact you about this. I have two email accounts assigned to Thunderbird, but I'm receiving incoming email to just the one account. I can send emails on mine, but can't receive any. The second email account sends & receives just fine. TWC said my incoming is mail.twc.com & the port is110.
I see under my settings there is no "Outgoing server (SMTP)" showing under Security settings on the list. The second email account does show this setting. I can access new incoming emails logging on to TWC site, but can't retrieve them opening in Thunderbird. Please advise. Thanks.
If your problem is about receiving messages, why are you worried about the 'Outgoing server'?

My iphone 5 seems to be stuck in the horizontal view when I'm in the message mode. In all other views I can turn the phone 90 degrees and horizontal to vertical works fine. Not sure what the problem is.
I found a solution!
Perhaps this is just temporary, but I have my display up and working again.

As I was able to connect to my HD via an external monitor, in the finder, I went to:
1. Macintosh HD --> System --> Library --> Extensions
2. From there I moved all of the files that started with ADM and ATI (19 in total for me) to a folder on my desktop. (You will need to enter your admin password for this)
3. Next was a restart.
4. Then my display started working again.
5. After that, I transferred the files back into my Extensions folder.
6. I then did another restart with my fingers crossed and breath held. It worked.
Also... During the last few days of trying to find a fix, I restored a Mavericks backup to my computer away from Yosemite.
I'm very sure this problem occurred when I put my MBP to sleep, disconnected the power in its sleep, while something was connected to a USB port and unplugging the USB device (for me an iPhone charger) while the MBP was closed.

Hi Ted. I think it will be difficult to assist you unless you can provide some more information. For instance, do you receive any error messages? In your "Mailboxes" pane, does your email account show an exclamation mark or other error symbol, and do you see a message if you click on it? Has your email account previously worked or is this a new setup? Have you checked in with your ISP for assistance?
Hope those questions help you track down the problem.

I don't have the up to date system requirements to run iCloud on my mac but would still like to access my email on my mac. I think I need to update my settings, but am not sure what to do. Can anyone help. thanks

If you haven't done so already you need to migrate your mail account to iCloud first and do so IMMEDIATELY at the website Move
Then
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Hi, just bought my daughter an Iphone 4s and I can't get it to let her on youtube, Facebook etc., keeps saying no internet connection. My husband and I have 3G smartphones and we can get on them on ours, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Also, my other daughter has the same phone and has no trouble getting on these sites either. Some movie rentals i can transfer from ipad but most not! Whats the problem? They are all SD. Some are watched others not. It just seems to be a fluke sometimes that they show up in the rented movies when i sync. And bought movies I always have to manually transfer to my computer!

I have a 13in. black MacBook. Whenever using Safari to connect to the internet, sometimes the computer will be as fast as lightning and other times I type in a web address and nothing, literally nothing happens. And sometimes it will just take ages and ages to go to and load a web page, if it loads at all. I have been to an Apple store, have done all sorts of trouble shooting, and last night erased my hard drive and completely reinstalled the operating system from scratch. Whenever I find something I think will fix the problem (from changing settings all the way to reinstalling operating system), the fix seems to work temporarily and then the old problems resume after a day or two. This problem happens on a variety of networks (public and home) and in a variety of locations (home, school, parents house, Apple store). Please help!!
Apple Store:
1. The first time they thought it was a software issue and updated my operating system to SnowLeopard. They did so and it worked brilliantly in the store and then started up with the same old issues when we got home.
2. The second time (different Apple store), they told me there was nothing wrong with either my hardware or software and that I should try a different browser (I think that is absurd).
How am I connecting?
Mostly wireless. The problem lessens considerably when wired. (I asked about whether this could be a problem with the wireless card but Apple said all hardware was "fine" when they ran diagnostics.)
Type of Router:
AirPort Express, LinkSys, and several others...all are 2.4gHz

Page ins and page outs - post those (or just post the same type of screenshot). If you have a lot of those, that means that your machine needs to keep swapping RAM around to make the best of what is available which can result in slow responses.
Also post the total amount of RAM you have (in my case, I have 12 GB)
You free RAM of 221 MB is very, very low - I'm guessing you only have a total of 2 GB. If that is the case, I would absolutely max out the machine (if you don't know how much RAM you can put in, post your model number here so we can help with that). -

Yes, feel free to uninstall and reinstall as many times as you feel necessary. However, this doesn't often fix problem (unless the install process didn't work in the first place or that files have become damaged or are missing since the install process).

I have been getting messages all day from my husband but for some reason I stopped receiving them. He gets mine and I can receive and send messages from other contacts just I do not receive his. I have tested his phone and his contacts are receiving his. Not sure what the problem is. He has a Samsung SII
ThanksI would suggest doing a hard reboot on your phone and I would suggest a battery pull on his.
This may clear up a message that is stuck on one of the phones.
