I can´t rename mailbox (nokia E75)

Hi all
I have 3 web mail accounts (1 in hotmail 2 in gmail).
The main mailbox which I choose in nokia mail is from hotmail, I have no problems to rename it, but the others 2 (from gmail) is impossible to do.
I try this: Menu>Office>Email>Settings>Gmail>Mailbox settings>Mailbox name. I write there JJPP, but still Gmail like by default name.
Whit hotmail it happens: Menu>Office>Email>Settings>Hotmail> (and there I find other options, not like gmail) Mailbox settings>Mailbox name and there I have no problems.

I'm having the same problem. I originally set up my gmail account, and then set up the same account with email.nokia.com and it was automatically named Gmail (2) and there's no way to rename it. This is pretty frustrating since I deleted my old Gmail setup and so now not only is it just a poor name (what if I really had 2 gmail accounts like the OP kinda hard to tell them apart) it's also not relevant any more.
Please tell me there's a way to rename this.

Resetting a nokia E75

I have a nokia e75 and i forgot the lock code. It was changed from the original lock code of 12345. I've tried resetting using the codes but have been unable to enter them as the only option i have on start up is to enter the lock code. How do I fix this?

No offence, but how do we know that this is your device? You can bring it in to a Nokia Care Point to get it unlocked.

CAN'T RENAME PICTURE IN N97

Hi friends,
CAN'T RENAME PICTURE IN N97.
I have recently bought a N97 (I have been using a N73 Music) and
need help for this problem -
After taking a still image / video (& before closing the camera
cover - there is a option to rename it - max 31 to 32 characters).
If I rename the photo / video there, then the name is changed (as it
should) - no problem.
- but if I close the cover or exit the camera mode - and then later
try to rename any picture from photo gallery it cannot be done -
as suggested in manual-
"Select Menu > Photos.
To view and edit the properties of an image or a video
clip, select the file, Options > Details, and from the
following:
Title — View the thumbnail image of the file and
the current file name. To edit the file name, select
the file name field"
After editing - the title field shows the edited name - but when the
file is sent to PC or other phone - it is seen that the default name
is persisting (the name in fact has not changed).
Any solution / advise - anyone ? Nokia people - are you listening?

Strange, I've used it since first release, on two phones, and installed it on friends phones without a problem. Should be identical, but try uninstalling and going to Nokia betalabs and downloading from there. One thing to note, you may need to let it load photos for a few minutes first time you open it, then it's really quick, and smooth. Worth trying, it's one of the best apps on my phone.

Nokia E75 does not support sis files

I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.
Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?
Can anybody help me ASAP, because I need the navigation evey day very badly?

I'v followed the directions of chanchan05 "Just uninstall the maps app, delete the folder and file I mentioned, then reboot your phone. Afterwards I installed the sis file you pointed me to and it worked. The maps on the phone were deleted, so I downloaded new ones over Nokia Ovi Suite and tried the navigation. Unfortunately it stills demands buying the licence for the navigation.
I guess this is because the recommended sis file is v3.01 and not v3.03? Is that right?
Any other solution?

Can't rename mail box

Hope this is an easy one. When I try to rename a mailbox, I can't. I click on the box twice( like how you rename anything on a Mac) and nothing happens. I go to the drop down menu mailbox and "rename mailbox" is grey, not black. I've tried to re-boot no help. Any ideas?

Go to Mail preferences, select Accounts and then choose your mailbox. You should be able to change the name from the account information (change the name under Description).

Cannot rename mailbox I created

I am trying to rename a mailbox that is a sub-mailbox to another, both of which I originally created to store email messages. I can highlight the name and type a new one, or I can go to the Mailbox menu and select Rename Mailbox, then type the new name. In both cases I get the following error message:
Mail was unable to rename “~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes/AFS.mbox/EBO”.
Has anyone seen this type of problem? Is there a solution for it? I've not been able to find anything online.

I had the same problem, and was finally able to rename mailboxes by doing this:
In Mail, click out of the folder you're trying to rename. I went to the Inbox.
Close Mail.
Go to Finder...Library...Mail...Mailboxes.
Single-click on the mailbox you want to rename.
Single-click on the mailbox's name.
Type in the new name.
Single-click to the right of the name you entered.
Close Finder.
Re-open Mail.
Wait. Within about 5 seconds, the folders will update, and you'll see the name change. You may have to manually re-order them if you're an alphabetizer, though.
This was harder than it needed to be, and even once I thought I had the process figured out, it was a bit squirrelly. I tried it once without having closed Finder (at step 8), and the new name wouldn't appear in Mail. Also, double-clicking on the mailbox (at step 5) led me back to the same error GAdams described. And hitting "return" after typing the new name instead of single-clicking (at step 7) gave me a failed attempt, too.
Hopefully, Apple will correct the problem in an upcoming software update, but in the meantime, it's a usable workaround. Good luck!

Nokia E75 wont turn on

I was carrying my nokia e75 in my pocket and I looked into phone and it was turned off. I tried to turn it on but when I press turn on/red phone button nothing happens. I thought that battery is empty and I connected phone to charger, and when I connect it it gives "charging" sound and shows nokia logo without light, but when I try to turn it on with charger connected it doesnt work either.
Can someone tell me how can I fix problem or how can I hard reset it? Thanks.

This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons

NOKIA E75 - Unbound Medicine Books for PDA?

Wondering if anyone with a Nokia E75 has tried to download a PDA book from "Unbound Medicine" - their website says ALL Windows Mobile devices are supported, but when trying to checkout, they have a drop-down menu which lists hundreds of devices but NO Nokia ones at all. I've never used PDA books before, but the Nokias definitely use Windows Mobile, so I can't see what the problem is. This is no doubt my ignorance of the subject, but I also cant see why you have to select the specific device form this huge list, why I can't just download the book onto my PC and then copy it into whatever device I choose, and why I couldn't just laod a copy of any textbook which comes with a CD onto my PC and then copy it onto a mobile device from there. Any answers greatly appreciated.

I got an idea, not a fix, but a work-around.
The idea would be to forward your mails to another mail adres, that would be supported by Nokia messenger. I have no trouble whatsoever with GMail, but I did have trouble setting it up.
1. Create a 'secret' mail adres, that would only be used to get in your mail on the phone.
2. Set up your work email that's not supported to forward (and leave it in inbox) your mails to the newly created mail.
3. Set up your phone to GET mail from the newly created mail, and to SEND trough the smtp of your work email.
4. check that sending mail from the phone works as expected: does it advertise your newly created email address? If so, check the email adres that's in the settings of the mail program of your phone. Some programs can just have a wizzard asking for your emailadres, even though it is not to check any incoming mails, but actually it is used together with your name as info that's sent with outgoing email to tell who it is coming from. It could be that there is no work-around, then it's up to you to decide whether or not to use the phone to send email.
To setup an email without using the NOKIA messenger (or was it OVI) whatever it is called, I don't like nor use it.
You have to enter a bogus email adres as you are creating a new email account.
Then manually enter all the info afterwards. There's some things to find trough google about more detailed steps though. I've been looking for a while, but I cannot find them anymore. I don't have a lot of time neither though.

Nokia e75

hi, i got a problem with my nokia e75, for some reason i cant update it, tried directly via the phone and via the updater and it keeps failing
when trying via the phone i get "connection error" when searching for updates, but i can connect to the internet with the phone with no problems otherwice.
with ovi i get to stage 3 when its about to intall the update i get a msg that says "an error have occured" and a text that says that i should restart the ovi suit and try again, if the problem still hapen then uninstall and download the latest version(have that one)
error code: 12017
ive even tried to reset it to the factory settings but no change at all.. it just refuse to update..
duno how to continue..

This behavior seems to me like bug. Because even moving subscriber to the default partition is not written in the documentation, this move
should also evoke modification of LDAP profile of subscriber to keep information about used partition aligned with physical occurrence.
Could you answer my question? And if it is really bug and you can reproduce it, is it fixed already in hot fix release?

I believe a support case was opened about this and the resolution was that you need to recognize that you are not only changing the name of the folders but also changing them from one userid (mailbox) to another (new_mailbox). The partition on which the folders should be stored should be defined by the mailMessageStore attribute on the user. If the destination userid does not exist in LDAP, it will use the default partition.

Nokia E75 Contact Database Trouble

Greetings:
I bought a Nokia E75 phone in the Middle East 2 months ago. Ever since I purchased it, I am not able to edit my contact info to include anything but the mobile number. i cannot edit the label or enter any other fields to add addresses or email addresses. Can anyone help?

I too have somewhat of the same issue, except the ringtone assigned to the contact will not default when the phone rings.
The ring is the default within the profile everytime. I have turned the warnings to off. Thought maybe it was the the ringtone was a MP3 file, so I changed it to an AAC file, but to no avail.
Is there some other setting I did not change.
This is very frustrating...
Any suggestions?

Nokia E75 to Nokia bluetooth CK-1W car kit

Hi Folks,
have seen several posts aboutbluetooth connectivity between E75 and non-nokia bluetooth devices. I bought a car with a Nokia CK-1W car kit in it.
Connected beautifully with my wifes Motorola V3 first time no problems.
Bought myself a new Nokia E75 - connects once to the car kit, then wait for a while and at some point - not long after the power save mode the connection is lost. NOte it is not when the power save kicks in but some time afterwards. I have tried to set "Remote SIM on" but cannot seem to find an answer. I have even checked for the latest firmware this evening and I have the latest version.
Can any body help or is it to much to ask for one piece of Nokia Kit to connect to another piece of Nokia kit.

I have same kind of problems between my E75 and MB R-class carkit. First they are connected and few seconds later disconnected. I have lost my nervs...

Information about a possible update for Nokia E75

I'am a Nokia E75 owner. I'd like to have some information regarding a possible future firmware update (version 2 maybe?). The actual release 110.48.125 has too many bugs. As an owner of this phone I feel like a black son of the goos because many updates are going out for all the phones, but there is no update for my E75. I see it's not a flagship, but it has been totally forgotten! Anybody can give me some information about? I'm very anxious... bye thanks!

Maps and navigation with the Nokia E75

I am thinking of buying the Nokia E75. Can you now download maps from the noikia store for free
or is there a one of price or perhaps a subscription And would then also cost to use GPS for turn by turn navigation?

As E75 is an S60 3rd Ed. FP2 device there are a couple of things to point out. Firstly whilst you can download regional mapping for offline use using Nokia Suite you would need to purchase a navigation license for voice navigation and secondly as device uses map data series 00.01.29.100 it is getting further out of date as time goes by.
There can be an issue with license manager to allow you to purchase navigation license from shop and may need to backup essential data and restore device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user) and re-install nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis ‏5410 KB

Nokia E75 Slider Problem

Today my E75 fall me down the stairs and now the slider doesnt goes so smooth as before. The Silder also goes a little bit more back as it should so the slider doesnt really matches with the display part anymore. Is there any possibility to fix this or to remove the slider?
