I can't replace or delete pages in a pdf file - I am receiving a "bad parameters" error message

I am unable to replace or delete pages in pdf files.  I keep getting an error message that says "bad parameters".  This just recently started happening.  I'm using Windows 7 & PPT 2010.  Help.

Hi GMJ47,
How is the pdf created? Many a times due to bad pdf structure this error comes up.
You might want to check the doc: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-bad-parameter-acrobat.html

You cannot delete pages in Reader on any platform. Reader is a reading app not an editing app.
You can delete pages in Acrobat on Mac or Windows.

  • Delete pages in my .pdf file and save as another file?

Just purchase the subscription to a year worth of converting files to word/excel.  However, the conversion isn't accurate and I only purchase this to enable me to delete pages in my pdf file that I don't want...

    Hi,
To delete page(s) in PDF file:
    1. Open your PDF file in Acrobat
    2. Select "Tools" from right top corner of the document windows
    3. Select " Manipulate Pages"
    4. Select "Delete".
You can download Acrobat XI Pro trial version from www.adobe.com

  • How to delete pages in a pdf file with mac OSX Mavericks?

Indeed i don't have Pages options in my tools window... Is that normal for the mac version? Please it's urgent...

Sorry, it was my fault. When I searched on the Internet, I was reading the Acrobat help pages, without knowing it, because in my research I wrote "how to delete pages in a pdf file with Adobe reader", i was just automatically redirected toward Acrobat help but i didn't notice.
So no incorrect information exist in the Reader Help pages.

How can I delete pages from a pdf file

    Hi timk,
None of the Acrobat.com online services allow you to edit a PDF file. But, in checking your account, I see that you purchased an Acrobat Standard subscription, and you can certainly use that to edit a PDF file.
Have you downloaded and installed Acrobat Standard? It sounds to me as though you may be opening the PDF file in Adobe Reader, rather than Acrobat. (Reader doesn't allow you to edit PDF files.)
If you haven't already, download and install Acrobat from https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat. Then, make sure that you're opening your PDF files in that rather than Reader, when you want to edit them.
Please let us know how it goes!

  • I have a macbook pro using version 10.7.4 and I can't print multiple size pages in a pdf file using the brother laser printer hl-5470 dwt

I have a Macbook Pro using the 10.7.4 version. I recently bought a Brother HL-5470DWT Laser Printer. I can't seem to tell the printer to print multiple size pages in my pdf files.
No matter what I do it still prints all the documents as 8.5x11! It isn't pulling the paper from both printer trays.
    Please Please help me out....

Someone emails me a document as a .pdf file. I save it in my documents as a .pdf. I need to delete a page in this file and can't find where the delete page (or extract page) is in the toolbar. I am using Adobe Reader v9.0. Where do I find it? Thanks in advance

    Janet,
You cannot. Editing a pdf is reserved to the Commercial Acrobat product

  • How do I add or delete pages from 1 pdf file?

Since I joined (and upgraded) to the Adobe on-line subscription, I can no longer view a pdf file with thumbnails of all the pages and can no longer drag or move the pages around as I had done in the older version.  Can you please help? Also, when you convert a pdf file to ppt, the formatting changes and not very useable.

This is the Reader forum, that needs no subscription. If you are talking about Acrobat, the place to ask is here: Acrobat.

  • How can I save one specific page from a .pdf file into it's own .pdf file?

I've got this 4 page pdf file, and I need to save just one page from it.  I know that there's the option of using the select tool and doing a copy/paste to an image file, but I'm trying to keep it as a .pdf and I can't seem to figure it out.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Perhaps this solutions workability will depend a lot on what type and generation of PDF you got and the tech built into the program suggested....
    But ! (never-the-less)
You could try to see if the "Free PDF to Word Doc Converter version 1.1" will work for you....
I know it will not get you a single page .PDF but if the program works you could get a .Doc of which you might have the possibility to save a single page after editing it !(?)

  • Which version of Reader allows you to add and/or delete pages from a pdf file?  My company just reloaded all basic software and I now have version 11, but it isn't the same and I lost this functionality.

I just need to know which version to download because I don't remember which one I had.  Currently have vs. 11 which doesn't allow adding/deleting pages.

No versions of Adobe Reader allows this. You more than likely had a version of Adobe Acrobat. Any version of Acrobat has this ability.

  • How can I replace a color in a finished PDF file?

I'm on Mac 10.9.2 Mavericks and I want to print a PDF file made by someone else, composed of Powerpoint slides. The problem is, all pages have a standard layout where there are giant cyan lines on the bottom, without any text on them other than page numbers, like so:

Other than editing the PPT (or PPS), you can't.

  • I can not print more than page one of PDF file I have loaded with 2013 version Firefox; I am able to with IE. Vista Home Prem is my OS and I have a 64 bit Dell

I have the most current version of MS Home Premium Vista. I run it on a 64 bit Dell Studio Laptop.
I have just started suing Mozilla Firefox 2013 Beta version.
I usually used Firefox vs IE as my browser and have my Yahoo email set as my home page.
When I tried to print a a several page PDF file I was accessing using Firefox, all it it print previewed and ultimately printed was page one. This happened regardless of the PDF file (e.g. those on the IRS.gov website). When I switch over to Internet Explorer and try to read the same files, I have no problem.
On 2012 versions of Firefox I had no PDF printing problem. I do think there is a bug in the latest version.

Top left (Orange) Firefox button, Print, Print Preview. Does everything look correct? You may also click the icon that looks like a "DISK" to save, which allows you to save it to your computer and CTRL+P will allow you to print.

  • Can I generate the first page in a PDF file To a image (jpg/png..) file without Adobe Acrobat Profes

I was developing an desktop application with C#.NET2.0
I would like to insert a PDF file to a repository and then generate the thumbnail of first page to a (jpg/png) file and store to the database for preview as the Icon in my application.(Like to Window Explorer)
I have read around the boards and found that the machine must be installed with only the full of Acrobat Professional, right?
If the appliction have to be run to a lot of client. Do I need to buy the lecense to all machines? Or Are there the other ways?

If you want to use the Acrobat SDK, which is a tool for automating
Acrobat, you need to buy and install Acrobat on each client.
Adobe's PDF Library, which doesn't require Acrobat and has a different
(negotiated) licensing model based on royalties might be a better fit.
In either case, this would be written in C/C++.
