  • I can't remember the answers to ANY of my security questions. And in order to reset them I apparently have to remember the answers to at least two, which doesn't really help me at all considering my dilemma. Anyone know what I should do??

Please help!! I can't remember any of the answers to my security questions (I made them approximately four years ago and don't know what I was thinking).
How can I change my questions without answering my security questions that I don't know?!??

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • I've forgot my answers for security questions. Can't you reset them or do something like this?

I have bought a new iphone 5s a week ago. Today I wanted to purchase an app. And the security system asked me for an answer for my security questions.  But I don't remember them. What should I do?

this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

  • HT204088 How can I send the recovery email to reset my security questions?

My question is the header above this statement.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

  • HT5312 How can I add a rescue email? I forget my security questions and need to add another email to reset them. I did not add a rescue email  when I originally signed up.

I do not recall ever answering the security questions therefore I do not know them and iTunes will not let me purchase music through my iPhone. How do I reset the security questions? I do not have a rescue email set up to do so. How can I add that?

You can't now and need to contact Apple. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
The time to create a rescue email address is when you set up the security questions, not after forgetting their answers.

  • Can't activate iPhone because Apple ID is locked 'for security reasons', can't reset Apple ID because need iPhone to receive two-step activate code!

    So here's an interesting one...
I have just updated iOS on my iPhone and it came up with the activation prompt. I entered my iCloud email and password and it told me that my account was disabled for security purposes.
This happens quite regularly as my iCloud account and I constantly get the account locked out as other people mistake it for their account.
The procedure to unlock my account is to visit iforgot.apple.com and select the 'Reset your password' option, enter my iCloud email address, two-step recovery key and then nominate my iPhone to receive a two-step authentication code.
The problem is my phone won't receive the authentication code because it needs activation! My iPad is also listed but also won't receive the authentication code, I expect because my Apple ID is disabled!
Having read the support article regarding what to do when you can't receive the two-step authentication code it says login to your apple id account and manage the list of devices! You what!? I can't login because my account is disabled.
It seems there is a complete design flaw here in that I can't activate my phone without unlocking my Apple ID and I can't unlock my Apple ID without activating my iPhone first!
I've spoken to Apple in the past about this and their response was to login and manage my devices and I pointed out that I could not login in because my account is disabled. They then basically said there is nothing I can do! Really? They won't unlock my Apple ID because they don't have the ability to do so.
If I'm not mistaken my iPhone is no longer fit for propose and if I can't sort this I will be visiting the Apple store and asking for a replacement as basically my device is bricked. I guess I will have to create a new Apple ID and will no longer be able to get to my email on the old account!?
Any folks on here has similar issues or any suggestions?
    <Email Edited by Host>

I have something similar going on, but not exact.  I basically have a useless phone here because I restored the phone but supposedly when my son's father redid the phone years ago for our son he added the phone to HIS apple id (on find my phoen supposedly) which he no longer has nor uses.  I need said apple id and pass to finish restoring the phone.  Maybe we should all get together and pile all our bricks in front of apple headquarters so no one can get out of the building and they have to stay there until they fix this.  :-P

  • Can I use my existing E-mail address to retrieve my password reset through security questions

Can I use my existing E-mail address to retrieve my password reset through security questions instead of through E-mail. When I try retrieving my new Apple password through reset through security questions?  On the Apple id, it will not allow me to do so becasue I forgot my security answers to the question. I'm naming one or two of the wrong vechiles which is what the questions ask me for for security questions.
For icloud do you reccommend that I keep that same E-mail address or create a new one for my iCloud mail aside from my G-mail address name?
I asked support community for the very first time to reset my security questions and it wanted me to create a new user name for iCloud when I already have *****l for my original Apple id.

  • Somebody has created an apple id using my gmail id. So I gave forgot password option and reset the password of the id. But for resetting the security questions, link is going to some other email id which is created by the other guy.How can I resolve this?

When I tried to create and apple id using my gmail account i found that somebody has already created an apple id using my gmail id. So I gave forgot password option and reset the password of the id. But for resetting the security questions, link is going to some other email id which is created by the other guy. Now the problem is that the other guy also can reset my password and access my account.
I contacted apple customer care and they are not ready to help me saying that I need to give information about the last device I logged in using this id. How can I give it when I did not create it?:) Also they are saying this account has been verified and that could happen only if someone has hacked my gmail account and verified the id using the link sent by apple.
Later I did some experiments and found that this is a security flaw from apple. Somebody has created the id and never used it(I tried to loggin to icloud and it was saying this account was not used it any apple device). The account became verified when I reset the password.(This is a bug, account should be verified only when we click on the verification link sent by apple).
The other mistake apple did is that they allotted my gmail account to someone before it's verified eventhough it cannot be used unless verified. Actually apple should allot the account id only after verifying the email address.
Apple customer care is not ready to help and I am tired of fighting with them. Can any of you guys suggest any means of getting back my gmail id to use it as apple id?

I don't think you're going to be able to. I would guess the other person used your address by accident, and when he found he couldn't access the account (because you'd changed the password) he abandoned it. Your GMail address is now locked to that account and even if it was changed you can't use it to create another.
You already have an Apple ID, which you use to log in here; you can use that to create an iCloud account if that's what you are trying to do. If you want to create a different Apple ID just get another free address such as a Yahoo one.

  • How can I reset my security questions?

In January 2012, I bought an iPod Touch 4th Generation, and used it about a year and a half. During this time, I got quite a few gift cards from family members, but I never really used the money, even though I redeemed it. Due to some misunderstandings, said iPod was lost for about another year and a half, but I was finally able to get it back a few days ago. However, during the time it went missing, I had logged into iTunes on my computer to update some information, including my email address. Since I hadn't used it for so much time, when I logged into iTunes on the iPod, it was still displaying the old email, so I logged in again. But when I try to buy something with the unused money from the giftcards, it asks me to answer the security questions. Here's the deal: I don't remember the answers [matter of fact, I don't remember setting them up in the first place] and I also hadn't set up a recovery account, and it's not like I can check to see if I saved the info anywhere, since the computer I was using at that time died out shortly after I lost said iPod. Is there anything I can do to reset my security questions? And even if I have to contact customer service, is there anything I can do to prove my identity?

  • I can't reset my security questions

    Hi,
My mother just bought an iTunes gift card to make a purchase on her iTunes account, but when I add the card it tells me that she has to answer to the security questions.
The problem is that the answers that she gives me (which, as her son I know are right by all the stories she told me growing up), are apparently wrong.
I tried to see if the answers are case sensitive, but no luck. After that I tried to reset the security questions by sending the reset email to the secondary email address... the problem is: it never gets there.
I tried to change the secondary email address and even tried to add another one to it, but it doesn't even let me do that.
    So:
to make a purchase I need to respond to security questions
security questions tell me the answers are wrong
sending reset security questions email doesn't get sent/recieved
secondary email address doesn't receive the reset email
no possibillity to add another secondary email address because all email addresses are apparently in use (which isn't true, I have tried 7 different email addresses, and all are in use (not possible)
no possibillity to verify the existing secondary email address because the verification email doesn't get sent/recieved (double checked in mail app on different phones and on web portal to exclude problems with the app)
Im running out of tools in my toolbox to fix this and have a nice set of goose eggs because of hitting my head against brick walls, so if there is someone that can tell me how to fix this so that my mom can finally play word feud without ads, because right now it seems like as if Apple doesn't want to have her money...
