I can't restore my ipad unknown error 27
i can't restore my ipad unknown error 27
I see no listing for a 27 here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
But a common theme for ones in that range is caused by windows security software.
Try disabling your antivirus and firewall software.

When I Restored my ipad 2, it will come out error [ The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1). How can I do?
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1
Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Usually this is caused by your antivirus or firewall blocking iTunes access to the Internet. It can also occur if the phone is jailbroken or if the computer you are using was ever used to jailbreak an iDevice. -
Tried to restore but get "unknown error occurred (3194)". Please can anyone advise?

The iPad could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)
As a lot of people had last night the Apple servers were very busy with iPads and iPhones upgrading to iOS5... So I waited until this morning to upgrade.
iPhone 4 no issues at all and now using iOS5
iPad (version 1) backed up but not is coming up with the following error:
The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)
Typically error 1 isn't on the list and I can only find a handful of similar comments with no luck in fixing this.
The error appears when trying to restore the firmware and I have tried rebooting my mbp and iPad multiple times. I have even resorted to installing iTunes on my Windows 7 PC where I also get the same error.
Anyone had any luck in getting past this?I am having this same problem. I haven't plugged my ipad into my computer in 6 months or so but some of the apps (like ABC shows) are now asking for the the iOS5 so I figured I needed to go ahead and get everything updated. I have an ipad1 16G, with wifi and Verizon 3G and am using itunes on a pc. The cellular was turned off when I plugged it in, but the wifi was turned on. It is now stuck in an endless loop where it tells me that itunes has detected an ipad that needs system restore, but when i try to restore, it eventually comes back with an error that says "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)."
I plugged in and updated my iPhone 4 and it updated no problem.
I see that all these notes about this problem are back from October and November of last year. I'm wondering if anyone has had it recently or if a solution has been identified?
It sounds like if I keep trying the restore over and over again like 100 times, it might eventually work? I don't think it's fair for me to have to buy a new device since it was apple's update software that broke it. -
Hi i'm trying to restore my iPod classic and it says that the iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1434) what can i do to fix this? Thanks
Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.

The ipad"ipad" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (16). How do I resolve this error?
Your error code falls within the 10-47 range mentioned here.
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020, 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Error 1015 might happen after making unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking."
Use recovery mode to restore your device

You might see these error messages if your device has a beta version of iOS or if you're installing an older version of iOS (downgrading). Use recovery mode to restore your device to the latest version of iOS.
Quit virtualization software

IPad 1 could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1).
I have an iPad 1 with wireless, although wireless is turned off at the moment. It hung, and I was able to get it into recovery mode. However, I have been unable to restore it, and I've tried using both a PC and a Mac. On both, I get the following message in a dialog box:
The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1).
Any ideas what I can do to restore it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. The iOS error codes are: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 which indicates you should check your computer security software settings, and if that does not work, contact Apple Support for help.

The ipad "ipad" could not be restored. An unknown error ocurred (4013). How do i resolve the problem? Thanks ElroyD
Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.

While upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.2 something went wrong and came up with the message "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [1015]." Now it will not start at all. It just stays on screen with USB and the iTune picture. What can I do to get it going again. I only tried to upgrade because I was prompted to up-grade and now I am helpless. I did a backup before starting the upgrade. The error message did not tell what to do next. Any help is very much appreciated.
Usually that means the iPhone was hacked to unlock it from the original
carrier .
Updating the operating system locks it back to that original carrier
You could try this
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
However if the iPhone was hacked it is probably a paper weight now
and as this is an Apple hosted forum you can get no further help here
