I can't retrieve my mail!

Hello,
Since last friday I can't retrieve mail mail in apple mail. I didn't change any settings. I was able to retrieve my mail fine before that. I have double checked that the setting are all correct and entered. I have restarted my computer. I have updated all and any software updates through mac.
I use 2 different accounts in my apple mail. One through my ISP and the other is an email attached to my website through go daddy.com. My ISP account still works fine. When I go through the web to this email account I can see all 30 or so emails just sitting there.
I have deleted my account in apple mail and created a new one for my website account. For some reason when I do that it is able to download 2 emails that I had on my email account still from last year. But doesn't download any new emails.
Then I tried entourage and created an account for my website email account and was able to download them all. I set preferences so to not delete emails off the server after retrieving mail.
Being able to retrieve my emails through entourage makes me believe it's an apple mail issue and not the godaddy.com issue as it works fine there.
I don't want to convert to entourage! please help
Has anyone encountered this or have any solutions??
thank you

You’re welcome.
Sometimes messages left on the server clog up the account there, or Mail chokes on a message it cannot download and that prevents it from downloading the rest as well. Solving this problem will probably require removing one or more messages from the server. What are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings for this account?
You may tell Mail to remove from the server all the messages that have already been downloaded by means of Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove now. Alternatively, you may use the Account Info window to remove specific messages from the server. And if the account allows web access, you may also remove messages from the server that way.
Try removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded and/or the first message not downloaded yet (i.e. the message that Mail appears to be choking on).
You may want to try to download those messages with another mail client such as Thunderbird first, to avoid losing them — and use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import them back into Mail afterwards if you wish.

  • Can't retrieve "All Mail"

I have my iPhone 3GS (with OS 4.01) set up to retrieve email (using imap) from my gmail account. I have a lot of labels (aka folders) and have rules set up with gmail to put a lot of mail in folders bypassing the inbox. I like to access "All Mail" to see if anything new has come in anywhere. Everything worked flawlessly until I upgraded to OS 4. Now, after some amount of time when I try to access All Mail I get a message saying that it can't reach imap.gmail.com. However if I try to read any specific folder (such as Inbox, or any other) it can read it and get new mail without problem. If I reboot the phone then it can access "All Mail" again, but after some amount of time (which can vary from a day to a few days) it gets into the same state again. This looks like a memory leak in OS 4 somewhere.

    Try unlocking the captcha: https://www.google.com/accounts/UnlockCaptcha
Make sure you let everyone on the board know if it worked or not so you can help out the next person with a similar problem!! I just had a problem with my iPad giving me the same message and this unlock captcha thing worked.

  • Just moved to "iCloud" now I can't retrieve my mail on my mac.

I get a never ending request for my password; from a rejection of the server "imap.mail.me.com".  My iPhone retrieves mail fine; and I can log into iCloud ok.

    Hate to reply to my own Question,but;
I undid Mail Syncing, delete the accounts [my original .mac account, and the new 'iCloud' account set up automatically when I made the 'upgrade'], them manually added the account back, and now it appears to be working fine.

  • How can I retrieve deleted Mail inbox mail messages and sent messages?

I moved location and found (once again) that I could not send messages. In the past I have moved between Apple support and BT support to fix the problem. This time the BT IT technical support guy took over the screen, created a new account, made sure I could send messages and said goodbye.
In fixing the problem he deleted my existing BT Email Account and along with it 8 months worth of email history. I had backups to 5th April and hose are now restored but missing form 5th April to yesterday. With my old PC I could always retrieve stuff I'd deleted (as it never really disappeared from the computer)
Does anyone know if my deleted email box contents are still siting hidden somewhere on my laptop and if so how I can get them back? (I've only just started using Macs so still very green!)
    Cheers
    ZoeG

    Zoe,
Welcome to the Discussions, and to Macs.
Each time you remove an email account there is a warning that the mailboxes associated with that account will be lost -- that is a very accurate message, and they no longer exist. The BT tech was simply clueless, but ought not to have been so cavalier!
Any messages that remain on the server, however, can again be downloaded -- are you able to view the POP server to see what remains on it? The Sent messages would not be there, of course.

  • How can I retrieve e-mails sent from my Blackberry

I need to provide copies of e-mails that I sent from my blackberry, within the next 7 days.  Is there anyway to retrieve them for printing?
    Thanks.

Yes. All emails sent from your BB will have a check mark in front of the email. Open the sent copy and fwd. It to your home or work comp. And then print it or them off.

You can continue to run most PowerPC software in Mt. Lion by installing Snow Leopard Server into Parallels 8:

  • Why is my iPad saying it can't retrieve my mail it keeps saying about a server.

iPad will not connect to the server so I can get my mail ?

First, make sure you have an Internet connection by either WiFi or cellular if you have that model iPad...do you have the WiFi fan next to iPad in the upper left corner?
Second, do you have the email account setup properly?  Go to Settings > Mail, Calendars, Contacts > Accounts > Incoming Mail Server > is the Host Name correct, is the User Name correct, is a Password set?

  • [E2007] [EWSMA] [C#] [Windows]: How can I retrieve all mail sent via this Exchange server (during a time period)

    Hi there,
I'm quite new to Exchange and I'm not sure how to do this.
I've been looking at both push and pull mechanisms.
The query is conceptually simple. I can do it for one user, I think:
    var filter = new SearchFilter.IsGreaterThanOrEqualTo(ItemSchema.DateTimeSent, after);
    var folder = Folder.Bind(exchange, WellKnownFolderName.SentItems);
    var results = folder.FindItems(filter, new ItemView(1000));
....but I'm not sure how to it for all users.
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
This may be another option for you...
Is your Exchange hosted for you / Office365 or on premises?
If it’s on premises and you have storage space you could use a Transport Agent (and specifically a Routing Agent).
Using an agent you can take a copy of ALL email going in and out of a server (that's the whole email not just the headers or a log entry for it), then all you need to do is store it somewhere. I'd suggest just store it on file with an index (with date information
and the path to the email on disk etc) in a SQL database. Then when you need your "emails in a date range" simply run a query against your SQL database to get the list of emails. You can always run a batch job every now and then to remove emails older than
    a certain date.
If your Exchange is hosted (or you are not allowed to install software on the server) this won't be an option.

  • All my mails in iCloud suddenly disappeared from the inbox at about the same time that my email account was apparently hacked.  How can I retrieve those mails?

Even if I logged in and choose mail, my old emails all disappeared and new ones just does not appear at all

I have also changed my password in the meantime

  • My sent email from Feb 1 2014 on has disappeared, when I send mail now it isn't saved. What has caused this, how do I fix it, can I retrieve lost mail?

    as above
I dont think I have done anything to change the settings, it just started late last week

Are you using POP3 or IMAP
    Check your Syncronization Settings
Thunderbird > Tools > Account Settings
*Choose your email "[email protected]" > Synchronization & Storage > Disk Space
**Choose [x] Synchronize all message locally regardless of age
**Choose [x] Don't delete any message

  • Screw up with the email installation, I stay on the page and can not retrieve neither come back to the welcome mail page

What can you do when you screwed up the installation of mail/ hotmail/ the IPad can not retrieve the mail and rested blocked on a of reception page?
Can I reload the email configuration, Please guide, I

You can delete the account and start all over again. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account name - tap on the email account name - then tap delete at the bottom of the window that will pop up.
Then start all over again with the correct information.
If you cannot get out of the mail app - force quit it. Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears. Let go of the sleep button. Then hold down on the home button until the mail app quits. You may want to restart the iPad as well.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Yeah not a problem. It does seem though that if you did not have a Time Machine backup then you may not be able to recover the deleted folder :/ But for future reference to prevent any of this, a Time Machine backup is a great investment.
What it does is create an entire backup of your computer anything from personal information down to the screen saver.
What you first need is a new external hard drive (I would recommend a 1TB or higher just to prevent running out of space soon).
after that, just plug in the drive to your computer.
once it is plugged in, in the top right hand corner, close to the wi-fi symbol, you should see a symbol that looks like a clock with a backwards arrow around it.
click on that and select "open time machine preferences"
just turn the button to the "on" position, and select the backup drive and Time Machine does the rest
    very great tool
