I can't see Loops in Acid WAV format on Logic's loop Browser

Hi everybody,
I recently bought a bunch of loops in Acid WAV format that claims to be compatible with Apple Loops. I can see them and even I can hear them on my finder but they don't show up in Logic's loops browser which makes them useless...
They are placed in the correct file, I'm sure of that... I am suspicious of their real compatibility
Can anyone help me with this problem?

I'm sure it's just a slip of the keyboard, but I presume by "they are placed in the correct file" you mean "folder". Just checking — which folder is that? On which drive?
There are lots of reasons why 3rd-party Loops might not work at first, including permissions problems, unrecommended locations, still being compressed or archived…
"Get Info…" (Command-I) on one of the files & see if it's locked & if you have read/write permission.
Let us know all the above stuff, & we can take it from there.

How can I convert an MP3 to wav format, 16 bit, 44,1 khz? I like the program Switch which I know can convert MP3s, but how to I set it up for the specific settings that I need?

Just import into a logic session. Then bounce at the specs you require. Logic or Waveburner, iTunes and even Quicktime I think can each do this easily.
A question though. I am assuming you are converting an MP3 to 44.1/16 bit just so you can play the file in a consumer quality CD player?? IF so - that makes sense.
But if you are doing this because you think it will improve the sound quality of your MP3, I will save you some time here. It won't improve the sound quality at all. It will just turn the MP3 into a larger audio file.
44.1/16 bit resolution enables you to have a much better sounding file than MP3 formats, but not by going at it this way.
No offense to you if you know all of this already. I am assuming that you may not know this - because if you did you would also likely know how to convert an audio file.

Can't see HTML and Custom text format under data format tab in obiee.

Hi,
I want to add a java script to my report but I can't see HTML/Custom text format option under Data Format Tab--->"Treat Text as" menu.
My report is a union report.
For data column and numeric columns i can see custom option available but for text columns it is not visisble.
Any idea why it is not showing and what should be done here.
Any pointers are welcome.
Please help,it is really urgent.

Select text column (varchar column) -> Treat Text as -> custom text format ->Remove @ (default) -> add [html]<script>sometext(‘@’)</script> followed by your javascript
for eg:

Can't see album art in Songs view in iTunes 11, column browser issues

The column browser is still the most effective way for me to navigate my music, but in iTunes 11 it's only available in Songs view. This kinda makes sense, the column browser would be somewhat redundant in the other views, but Songs view is now missing the album art on the left side, which makes it a lot harder to view my music. This is what it looked like in iTunes 10:

The album art was't just pretty, it had a great function of visually separating each of my albums in the list view. Now they all mush together. Sure, I can see the art now in the Artists or Genre view, but not with the column browser. I want to be able to sort by Genre, Artist and Albums - all three. Not one or the other. The column browser is the only way to do this and it just got uglier.
On top of all this, now if I navigate to a certain place in the column browser and then click on anything else in iTunes, like the Artists view, Movies, Podcasts, etc and then jump back to the column browser, the whole column browser is reset and I've lost my place. This never used to happen in iTunes 10.
It's like Apple is trying to marginalize the column browser till no-one wants to use it anymore.

I found this in another discussion about iTunes 11:

Go to prefernces >general and uncheck use large text. Go to Artist view > view > options > check group compulations. then clik on all artists and all you music will appear in list view with the art work on the left This is great for me as I recognize my music by art work not title, artist, ect.. Here's the solution:
In Directory Access v1.2, You MUST capitalize the first letter of the Workgroup name, and ONLY the first letter.
Here's why:
In the version of Directory Access provided with Panther (v1.1.4) when setting the workgroup name in directory access, if you change the name from the default "WORKGROUP", it is acceptable to user all upper case; in my system it was "NETWORK".
After upgrading to Tiger, Windows network connectivity stopped working; we could not "see" Windows PC's via the Tiger Network Browser. We struggled for months with this issue.
It turns out that Directory Access is upgraded to version 1.2 when upgrading to Tiger. Once the upgrade to Tiger is complete, if you check the Directory Access App, the Workgroup name is carried over exactly as it was entered; again in my case NETWORK.
I have found that Directory Access 1.2 will accept all UPPER CASE or all lower case letters for a workgroup name, but if all upper case letters or lower case letters are used, you will NOT be able to view the Workgroup via the Finder's Network Browser.
Acceptable:
Workgroup
Network
Mshome
NOT ACCEPTABLE
WORKGROUP
NETWORK
workgroup
network
mshome
etc
Interestingly, in Directory Access 1.2, if your Workgroup name was carried over from a prior version, or if you simply entered the name after install or upgrade as lower case or UPPER CASE, Directory access will "add" the correct name in the drop-down list below the incorrect entry. Simply click the drop down list, select the Workgroup name with the proper capitalization and the ability to see Widows PC's via the Finder's Network Browser is fixed.
I've reported this to Apple Engineers.

i've got almost the same problem, the only difference is that when i try to go to my mac mini via IP, is the only way that windows can see the mac (on my case) and all the time sais that the Desktop folder was removed from the original place, that happens everytime that i copy or cut some file...ohhh and when i try to connect from the mac mini to the PC it sais that the alias could not be fixed and if i wanna fixit...doesn't do much really, and when i try to connect from the g4 to mini sais that the connection was failed because it took to much time and for the g4 to work again i've got to relaunch the finder. I'm under a Dlink router.
Please help.

Can't see photos on a PC formatted CD-R

I was given a CD-R by my father-in-law containing some photos of my kids that were taken on a day trip.
The disc has a semi-colon at the end of the disc name.
It contains items called:
autorun.inf
cdgo.psd
cdgo.tre
files.txt
PicasaCD.exe
Pictures (This one's a folder)
setup.exe
Unfortunately, when I look in the folder entitled "Pictures" I see the title of the first photo (which incidentally contains a semi-colon) with no preview icon & nothing else.
The disc plays fine on my DVD player & I can view the photos there but I'd like to add them to my iPhoto library so that I can get prints done.
I'm used to PCs not being able to read Mac discs in the old days but I've never had a problem viewing PC discs on a Mac before.
Could anyone shed any light?
(The reason I mention the semi-colon is because I once had a problem when I sent a mac disc to a PC user who could only see half the file names on some of the photos & it turned out it was because I used an asterisk in them which caused the file names to truncate. So, maybe a semi-colon is an illegal character in Mac file names.)

Perhaps the files have a period or something at the beginning of the file names? You'll need to enable the viewing of hidden files - there are several ways to do this. The one I use is typing (copy and pasting) "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool YES" (without the quotation marks) into terminal, then pressing enter, then relaunching finder. Once you're done looking/working with the hidden files, repeat the procedure subbing NO for the YES.
Just an idea - I don't know if this'll solve the problem.

Help! I Can't See My Web Page!

Good evening fellow Dreamweaver users,
    I recently tried centering one of my web pages using a code that I received from Nadia for another one of my pages. The code worked for that page, but when I entered it into my second page it didn't work. I deleted the code from my second page, but now I can't see it when I go to test it in my browser. All I see is a blank white page. I'm in dire need of some help. Yes, I am an amateur and I'm sorry if my questions are bothering some of you. However, I'm trying to learn this stuff, but I get confused on where and how to place the coding and now I have messed up and don't know what to do to fix it. I would appreciate it if someone could help me get my page to be auto-centered and show up again when I test it in my browser. Below is the current coding for my page. Thank you.

    I apologize for it taking me so long to respond back to you, but I have been quite busy with trying to prepare for my Fall semester college transfer. After copying and pasting your revised code I still couldn't see my page when I viewed it through my browser. However, the code for centering the page worked in Dreamweaver, so I decided to start over by using the code you gave me to center the page as a template. After achieving this enormous task I now have a centered web page that is viewable in my browser. I want to let you know that I'm very appreciative and thankful for your help, as I was really stuck in a bad spot. Even though I have taken a web design course and have read a few books I still find myself having trouble with fully understanding how to correctly implement the coding in Dreamweaver, which I feel is a key part in becoming a great web designer. More Battery problems: can´s see presets

I dont know why for some reason I can´t see my effect presets on battery inside logic. Any Help?

I don´t know why this happened but I just want to mark this question as solved as long as I cannot reply it anymore

Where can I see details of the different "event" files created after transferring my old camcorder tapes to i-movie?

Yesterday I transferred a couple of camcorder mini dv tapes to i-movie. For each tape transferred a new "event" file was created. Where on the system can I see details of these files (format, size of file etc) . Many thanks. Angus

iMovie has a very ... elaborated .. iffy internal file management; e.g. changing file's names or locations OUTSIDE Imovie/in Finder instantly corrupts file management, events get lost, projects kaputt.
All iM related files are stored upon your main drive, 'Movies'/'iMovie Projects' and /'iMovie Events' ...

Can not see wave form in arrange window logic 9 Please help

I have been using Logic for 3 months now...mostly just importing old wave files from past protools sessions. Everything was working fine until I created a new session to record audio. I record the audio at a nice level...I hit playback...I can hear it fine but I can't see the wave forms. I can see it in the sample editor. I've searched around and found the same problem in the past on some forums......they say to trash preferences... I went to my mac drive...library...preferences and nothing I have no files labeled com.apple.logic.pro now I'm lost....the funny thing is... when I zoom in horizontal ...the wave form shows but it makes the track way too large. Any help would be great. Thanks

What is the "Recording Delay" parameter set to?
It should be zero, default is zero. If it's set to a positive or negative Logic will often not show the wavforms. If that's it, it's one of the long standing bugs in Logic.

I have some loops from acid 5 which I have dragged in a folder to the loop browser. Some of them retain the folder name in the View: and some don't. I have had some that seem to go in but I can't find them. Where should I look?

Can't see audio wave in viewer after FCP5 project updated into FCP2

After updating my project from old FCP 5 version running on Tiger to FCP2 running on Leopard, I can't see the audio wave picture inthe viewer window. Is there an explanation for this?

You can try clearing the waveform cache in your project folder. Press Shift Q to open the System Preferences window. Look for the location that is set as your Waveform Cache location, then use the Finder to navigate to that folder. Remove the cache files from there, and then try relaunching your project to see if that solves your issue.

Obvious question, but have you got 'Find My iPhone' set on both devices? Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone.

Can not see running jobs from, package

I have a problem with processing parallely runing jobs:
I am creating another immediately runned jobs in a main job. Those two parallel jobs (2 loads from different databases) have to be finished before I run next operation (working out loaded data). Problem is that, after starting those 2 parallel jobs, I can not see them by select from ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS that is executed immediately after I create those jobs in a package. If I take a look into ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS from anonymous statement I can see all my running jobs. Let's sum it up:
1/ Start of main job
2/ Running 2 immediately created jobs (load data)
3/ Checking in loop if jobs created in step 2 are still running
3.1/ Jobs are running (ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS check) - sleep for a
while - It never happens - can't see any running jobs from select executed in
package but can see them in
anonymous statement
3.2/ Jobs finished - start processing loaded data
Can somebody help me with this task?

Hi,
There is no reason a job should be visible from an anonymous block but not from inside a job. There are two things that may be happening here.
- jobs scheduled to run immediately my not start running as soon as they are created/enabled, you may need to wait a bit before they start running (they will appear in all_scheduler_jobs immediately but maybe not all_scheduler_running_jobs immediately)
- you may be running into privilege issues. Is the user that executes the anonymous block the same as the user that the job is running as (the job's schema) ? If not maybe the job user does not have privileges to see the job (you can grant alter on the job to the user to ensure this).
Can you see the jobs in the all_scheduler_jobs view from within the job with status RUNNING ? If you can see jobs in all_scheduler_jobs as RUNNING but not in all_scheduler_running_jobs then this is a bug of some sort.

Can Not See Local Published Universe

Hey, In the Webi Rich Client running 4.0 I can't see the universe that I published to my local laptop.
I created the universe using Information Design Tool using an ODBC connection to a local Excel file.
I published that universe to the local directory that is defined in the Rich Client (under options). When I click on universe it makes me log on as 'standalone' .. then I get a blank screen.
When I use OPEN -> Files of type *.UNX -> navigate to the directory I see the universe, but when I try to load it I get the err:
Load Driver Call: Initialize (WIS 00000)" ?
There are no loops in my data foundation and the integrity check is fine as well.
Any help is appreciated.

Let me clarify.
If you connect to Standalone mode, You will never connect to repository. (i.e.) You should have universe and Report together in your Local machine.
If you are connecting to repository(Enterprise,Windows AD,LDAP), Then you need to connect the repository copy of the Universe and Report.
As I already said in previous message, Whenever you export the universe, The physical .unv or .unx files will be moved to repository. as a result you cant open the report in Standalone mode. To overcome this try import the universe from repository and save it somewhere. Then try with standalone mode and repoint the report to refer local universe copy.
