I can't see my ipod on desktop or itunes PLEASE HELP!!

I had to reset my ipod mini and now when I connect it to the computer a pop up message comes up saying "DISK INSERTION, The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" The options I have are "Initialize" "Ignore" or "Eject" I have itunes version 5.0.1 and ipod update 2005-09-23
What do I do Please HELP!!!

ITunes doesn't see my iPod video 30 gb! Please help me!

When i connect by usb 2.0 my iPod, the pc see the iPod as an external drive and It seems to be empty, while iTunes says that there isn't any iPod connected. The latest iPod software is installed. Opening the iPod while it isn't connected to the pc, there isn't any file but in the settings is written that almost 10 gb are full and 20 gb are free: this should be ok because before that these problems appeared that was the memory used. Of course I can't update the iPod or reset it to default because the iPod updater doesn't see any iPod connected to the pc while it is really connected... Well, windows sees my iPod while iTunes doesn't see it so i can't make any operation on the iPod and when it isn't connected to the pc i can't listen to the music... Please sombody help me!

I can't sync my iPod after upgrading to iTunes 7 - Help!

I'm running an Intel 20" iMac with all of the latest software updates applied.
My iPod is a 30GB iPod Photo (4G) running software version 1.2.1.
I upgraded to iTunes 7 last night. Since then, I can't sync my iPod. Here's what happened/happens...
I installed iTunes 7. On first run (iPod disconnected) it checked for album art and ran through my library to determine the zero gap playback info. That all happened successfully.
When I connect my iPod (which is set to auto update), it recognizes it, and show the status page (also shows up in "devices" in left pane) and immediately a small window pops up with the text "Updating library on 'Evan's iPod'". The progress bar gets to somewhere between 30-70% and then hangs.
I left it running all night and it never finished. My only option was to Force Quit iTunes. Once I did, my iPod was still fine, and had all my music on it, just nothing new.
I've tried rebooting my computer and iPod, to no avail.
I would try reformatting my iPod, except that you can now (seemingly) only do that through iTunes (as opposed to a separate updater as in the past). Since iTunes locks up as soon as my iPod is connected, that doesn't help me much...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok... I just tried connecting my iPod directly to a USB port on the computer rather than via the USB hub I was using and everything is fine. Odd, but I'm happy now.

I can boot up my macbook pro but all i see is the wallpaper and the dock and the toolbar at the top. I can not see my hard drive or anything else. please help

Please help. I can boot up my macbook pro and log in but after that all i see is the wallpaper, toolbar and the dock. In the dock it has 2 ? where the doc and download folders should be. If I open up a new finder window it doesnt show anything in there no hard drive or anything. If anyone konws how to help let me know please and thank you.

Agree with baltwo, though even if you have saved the install app I wouldn't use it unless its been used to install a known good copy of the OS already.
In your case, that probably means start fresh:
Restart the computer, holding down 'command' and 'r'. When the recovery disk window shows, choose 'Reinstall Mac OS X'.

IPod not detected as iPod by computer or iTunes, please help

Hello everyone!
When connecting my iPod Nano 2nd Gen via USB to my computer (win XP) it recognizes it as a "mass storage device", and iTunes won't detect it as an iPod.
I went through many of the tutorials on this website, and formatted my iPod, re-installed the USB device and completely removed and then reinstalled iTunes (which is the latest version - 7)
Can you guys please help me on getting my iTunes to recognize my iPod so I can transfer files to it?

It used to be my sister's, and she claims to have been transferring files to the iPod directly (dragging files, not using iTunes) and that it also worked and she was able to listen to music and stuff, until one day where she tried to listen to music and it said "disc empty".
As of now when clicking on music it says "disc empty" (quite obvious though because I formatted)
Can't restore my iPod either since it requires it to be recognized by iTunes first...

Following that tutorial I could not find the registry values it wanted me to delete, however I did find it via the "Search" option in Regedit. Is it safe to remove it from there? Or could there be other values with the same names as the ones I was supposed to delete?

i got my computer cleaned so it wiped out everything but i asked the people to save itunes they said the songs are still there i just have to download the softwhere but i dont have the disk... and i had the old version of itunes. what do i do to gownload the old itunes if i dont have a disk to get my songs up? and then how do i transfer them to the new verison of itunes and/or do i even need the new verison sence i have an ipod mini 6 GB and i have about 550 songs on it with an adio book please help me

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

I can't Plug My iPod to my PC. Please Help!!!

I have purchased an iPod 40 GB, serial No. JQ451JHPPQ7 in San Francisco in January 2005 and it does have a 2 Year Applecare Protection Plan for iPod.
My iPod was working properly until today when I tried to connect it to my PC (Athlon 64 3000+) when, instead of the usual message, the computer recognized it as a removable drive only (not as an iPod) and it did not respond to any commands such as loading the contents with windows explorer or even removing the device from PC. Moreover , the computer also did not respond at all (hanged). However, My sister’s iPod (identical to mine) works properly and flawlessly with the same computer and ITUNES (both iPods do have the same software and have not been updated. The ITUNES software too was has not been updated. It is also interesting to note that my iPod works properly when it is not connected to the PC.
I would appreciate it very much to advise me if there is anything that I should do to solve the problem.

having the same problem. Ipod actually has somehow wiped all music off then somehow restored all 6910 songs. It has done this twice. The updater states that the ipod cannot be updated because ipod is busy with another application, but there are no other applications running. Itunes of course doesn't find the ipod. Windows recognizes the ipod as a removable drive, but I am unable to access it. What is going on. This is the second problem I have had with my ipod in the past two months. First ipod was replaced with the one year refurbished ipod warrenty. Any help would be appreciated

Can not see the schema under the new connection -- Please help

The database is Oracle. Recently I requested our DBA to do a database refresh, and here was she did.
1. Drop the user (TDEV, schema owner) in Dev.
2. Recreate the user, TDEV, with the same password, roles and tablespaces.
3. Using Oracle export command to export data from production under schema owner, TPROD.
4. Using Oracle import command to import the dump file from TPROD to TDEV.
5. Both export and import were successful.
Dev and Production are in two different databases.
After the importing, using SQL*PLUS I logged into Dev database as schema owner "TDEV", and were able to select all tables. I also verified there was no schema or user called TPROD in Dev database, and there is no TDEV in Production database.
However, in Crystal Report, both 10 and XI, when I made the new ODBC (RDO) connection to Dev DSN and logged in as the schema owner user "TDEV", I noticed there is TPROD listed below, but no TDEV. I tried to select the tables listed underneath TPROD, and got the following error message: "Query Engine Error: '42S02:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-00942: table or view doesn't exist'"
Any ideas or helps are welcome!!
