I can't seem to call my House Phone?

All of a sudden, starting this morning, my [Verizon] mobile phone cannot call my [Verizon] house phone. I have a similar problem with my house phone, as it also cannot call my mobile phone. In addition to this, my Dad's business phone cannot forward calls to his mobile phone (from his business land line). Everything is Verizon. We have had [almost] no problems for more than 5 years; however, all of this started Monday morning. I can call the rest of my family on their mobile phones just fine, so what's wrong with the land lines? I'm not sure if this is related, but, when I was listening to my Dads conversation with a Verizon rep, they said something strange. Apparently, according to the Verizon guy, calls from a land line to a mobile phone is considered long distance. Now this didn't sound right, so I asked the guy "What if the mobile phone is local?" To which the Verizon guy replied "all calls to mobile phones are considered long distance, it doesn't matter if the mobile phone is local." What? This isn't making any sense. Later, the Verizon guy told me calls to mobile phones are considered long distance because they use a satellite? Since when did that matter? I'm not sure what's going on, it's as if they changed some policy without letting us know about it. If they did, we had absolutely no warning, and the phones just stopped working properly. This is absurd, and no one should have to through all this crap. All I know is, I love Verizon FiOS internet, and it would be a shame to lose it simply because their phone service is a ***.
Any how, any help regarding this would be appreciated. I believe my parents will be going to a Verizon store to resolve this issue; however, I don't know how exactly to approach them. My dad's English isn't the best, so I will most likely be talking to the Verizon people.

Well, when my house calls my mobile phone, I get an error. The same thing happens when I try to call my house from my mobile phone. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is... Either way, forums.verizon.com doesn't want to let me make an account without first "verifying" my identity. I posted in the wireless community since my mobile phone also seems to have some trouble. That and, perhaps there is someone else here who has also had the same problems in the past?

I can't seem to make an actual phone call from my iPhone 4S.  I dial the number, and the phone at the other end rings.  But at my end there is nothing.  No ringing.  No person trying to talk to me.  What is causing this problem?  I have got all of the current updates loaded to my phone.

My brother had a similar problem and he went to the Apple store and they gave him a new one under warrenty...she said something about the arial, I would give it a go.

You mean lock and home key right? I have the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. Seems as though if I hold the buttons again a 2nd time, the iPod automatically restarts as it loads the apple screen that appears when you turn on the iPod/iPhone but I can't get the iPod to stay turned off.

  • How can I make a call to *190*phone number# in c#?

    Hi,
I am trying to create an app as shortcut for some requests.
I want to make a call to this number: *190*phone number# using c# but it never works.
On the phone, I can call this number and I get a reply from my provider.
If I try to call it using:
    Windows.ApplicationModel.Calls.PhoneCallManager.ShowPhoneCallUI("*190*phone number#", "TEST CALL");
I get a message saying that I have to use the dialer keypad to send the request.
Is there a workaround for this (bug)? I mean, if I put the phone number in the phoneCall-request, it is because I don't want insert it manually in the dialer keypad...
    Thanks,
    Adriano

    Yes security LOL...
If Microsoft want security, they should create a smartphone without the possibility to install apps ;)
If an app can't make a call (user has to press CALL), the same thing is also possible for a FREE request to the provider, or not?
Thanks for the link! This show once again that write a utility for WP is a hard work...
    If I create a new contact, I have to call phoneCallTask.Show();
... And so I am on the same situation.
.My phone provider created an app for iPhone and one for Android. I was thinking I would be able to create something for Windows Phone too. Now I know why nobody want to create tools for Windows Phone. The API never allow you to write a utility (for security
reason, I know ;) )... But it would also be nice to have a utility some times in a store full of inutility apps :(
    About this BUG:
I can create a textbox where the user can copy the phone number (maybe the app could copy it automatically in the clipboard if there is no security problem about the OS :P). But the user has to exit the app, open the dialer and insert this text.
Is there a way to open the phone dialer?
Thank you for the support Cristian!

  • I have An IPad Air Cellular. Can I make a call like normal Phone

Can I make a call on IPad Air Cellular as normal Phone??

The cellular part of that it has the ability to transmit and receive cellular data, not make phone calls over the cellular network.
If you also have an iPhone, you can use the new feature quoted below described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
    Phone calls
To make and receive phone calls on your iPad or iPod touch, here's what you need:
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later.
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Both devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same Apple ID.
This means any iOS device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off.
If you don't also have an iPhone, you can use FaceTime or Skype or Google Voice or other types of apps for calling.

  • Why can't I receive calls from landline phones?

My phone was fine until yesterday. I decided to change my service to another provider and since then I can no longer receive phone calls from landlines to my phone. The phone service has not switched over yet and I still have verizon service and It's the same number, just going to be with a different provider. I can call out and receive calls from cell phones just not landlines, they just go to some voicemail thing. Is this a problem with verizon's service, the fact that the phone is in transition of providers or something else?

Well, perhaps all the problems aren't gone, I have noise in the line now, and some people who call the line get a taped message, and leave messages on an "answering machine" that is not mine and that I cannot access in any way.
This is not new technology. Come on, Verizon. Why did this stuff work in 1975 and not now?

  • Why Can't I Receive calls on my phone

hi i need help as i cant receive calls on my phone and its been like this on the last couple of phone that i have had which were the same as it was happening on them as well as a lot of other things

I don't think a smudge on the screen and incoming calls are in anyway tied together.
You have a problem with your SIM or network. Something is not putting the calls through to your handset.
You need to call Orange and have them ESCALATE this isssue up to RIM's level two tech support.

  • People can't seem to call me, but I can call others.

My IPhone 5 recently started not being able to receive calls from anybody who called me, but I can call people.  When they do call me, the automated voice message isn't the usual Verizon women voice either.  It keeps saying, to everybody who tries calling me, "first dial the area code, then dial the number" and they would "dial the area code first" and still the same message.  I have one other person on the same plan and his IPhone 4 works fine and I checked the balance on the account and is $0.00 therefore our bill is payed for.  Does anybody know what it could be before I call support or go to the store?

try dialing *73 and press call.  Wait for the beeps and then hang up and test.  It may have been accidentally forwarded to another #

  • Can we record outgoing calls on Windows Phone 8?

I have read several forums talking about how incoming calls can not be recorded in Windows 8 or there is not an App for this yet.
So, is there a way to record OUTGOING calls in windows 8 phones?
I have some conversations that I need to record and I will be making the call.
    Thanks for the help! :)

No, it's not possible to write a general purpose app to do this.

  • HT4623 How can I receive blocked calls on my phone

I am a hospital driver.  The hospital number is a withheld number.  They cannot leave voicemail messages for me.

That's between you and your carrier. The phone does not prevent any caller, regardless of the caller ID information, from leaving a message. Voicemail is strictly a carrier feature.

  • I can't hear my calls. My phone is stuck on headphone mode

I Have an I Phone 4 S and it is stuck on headphone mode. i don't have headphones connected, but I'm unable to hear my calls. How do I turn the headphone mode off?

    Hello, Hethmarti
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your iPhone indicates that it is stuck in headphone mode.  Try connecting a set of headphones and removing them.  You may need to repeat this procedure multiple times.  If this does not resolve the issue try the additional troubleshooting steps in the attached article below.
