  • Hi, I've just up-dated my OS in my MacPro 3.1 from 10.5 to 10.6.8 and can't seem to install my Logic Pro 8, any advise? can I install my Logic 8 in the 10.6.8 OS? Thanks

Hi, I've just up-dated my OS in my MacPro 3.1 from 10.5 to 10.6.8 and can't seem to install my Logi Pro 8, I can install the libraries but not the program, is it possible to install or do I have to up-grade to Logic 9? Thanks

It's either that Logic 8 is looking for the Rosetta emulation program or that Logic 8 was previously installed on this OS, in which case you will have to remove some preference files and install receipt.
I think the Rosetta emulation is downloadable for SL.

If you are trying to see if you can track your mac but nothing comes up, be sure the mac is connected to wifi, not just using ethernet cable to a modem.

YasmineH your web browser is blocking the installation of the AAM Detect plug-in.  I would recommend using a different web browser or installing through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  You can find additional details on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

i can't seem to install some apps that i downloaded for my iPad from my Mac. i have tried syncing them but they still don't appear on the pad. how do i go about this?

    These are iPad apps correct?
Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing apps>Off or Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content?
Are you sure that the Apps are selected to sync from the Mac to the iPad?
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on Install next to the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading to select it
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you do not see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu.

    * In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
    * Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • Can't seem to install iTunes 7.4.3 in Vista

I downloaded the iTunes743Setup from apple and can't seem to get it to run or install. Asks for permission and then seems to run a few seconds and then nothing. Downloaded it again and also updated security center, but still can't install it. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do?

I can get it to install in Vista 64 bit version but it is telling me to uninstall and reinstall because it now is missing files to burn discs. Funny thing it started this after the last update. If I can find a 7.2 version will go back to that one, it worked fine.

  • I can't seem to install plugins in Final Cut Pro X.

I have tried to install the Magic Bullet LUT Buddy in several different folders and can't seem to get it to install, once I go into Final Cut it is never visible, can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong? I'm fairly new to Macs.

    According to their website:
    LUT Buddy works with:
    Adobe After Effects CS5, CS4, CS3
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
Apple Final Cut Pro 6, 7
    Apple Motion 4, 3
FCPX is not on that list, nor is Motion 5.

  • Can't seem to install 10.1

    I'm getting frustated!
I, too, seem to be unable to install Flash Player 10.1. I've followed many of the similar posts here and have uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled (using the downloadable versoin - whch reports it is installed, correctly, appears within the Control Panel fine) but, when I try to access the "About" page, I'm presented with the opportunity to install the Flash Player yet again!
Checking Add-Ons shows only PDF helpers under Adobe and Shockwave (8.5.1) under Macromedia - no sign of Flash Player anywhere!
What can I try next? I seem to be running out of options! I've even created missing (empty) keys in the registry before trying another install - still to no effect. What's left?
    Windows XP Home
    Flash Player 10.1
    IE8 2.00Gb RAM
AMD Sempron 2600+ (yes - it's old, but apart from this, works fine!)

Hi, I would download the Uninstaller and SAVE it to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download the Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer and SAVE to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
You must Run as Administrator, disable any apps that use Flash in the system tray, messenger services. Then CLOSE all browsers. Run the Uninstaller, and Reboot(restart) your computer. Then Reboot again(to clear old files from IE)
Then Run the Installer and Reboot Once.
    Go here to test: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Then go to Tools, manage add ons (All add ons) and find Shockwave Flash Object and make sure it is Enabled.
    Thanks,

  • Mid 2010 iMac upgraded SSD, can't seem to install windows via bootcamp. Windows can't be installed on this storage device. The chosen harddisk contains a MBR-partition-table. Windows can only be installed on GPT-harddisks on EFI-systems error

I have windows 8.1 on DVD & on USB CF Reader/Card. I've followed the full steps in bootcamp, but when it restarts and its time to select the bootcamp partition to install windows (after alt rebooting to the efi startup) I get the "Windows can't be installed on this storage device. The chosen harddisk contains a MBR-partition-table. Windows can only be installed on GPT-harddisks on EFI-systems" error.
I've scoured the internet trying different solutions that seem to work for everyone else, but to no avail. I've reformatted from that screen, doesn't help. I've removed bootcamp partition and manually partitioned using disk util, leaving it empty once partition-wise, and filling it with a blank partition the second time. I've done a full back up and clean re-install of Yosemite, and nothing seems to be working.
Thats when I switched to DVD install, as I heard sometimes you can't install with a CF card. When I alt-boot, I can see EFI-windows and windows, but if I select EFI-windows, same problem as before, and if I select windows, I get the black screen of "no bootable device please insert boot disk and press any key."
I've been stuck w/o bootcamp for over 2 years now. Anyone, please help?
Mid 2010 iMac running 256gb SSD, Yosemite 10.10.1 trying to install windows 8.1

I am having the same problem. Windows is trying to install. It identifies the various partitions but says that I cannot install Windows on the Boot Camp partition or any other. I select Drive options (advanced) and Format the Boot Camp drive, but it makes no difference.
    This is the Windows error:
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer BIOS menu.
I am not sure what Csound1 is suggesting with that post above. There are some involved suggestions over here <https://discussions.apple.com/message/23548999#23548999> about using Disk Utility to delete the Boot Camp partition and create new ones - is that the idea?

  • Can´t seem to install any update on Snow Leopard. Why?

    Hello everyone. First post here.
I tried searching the forum but I couldn´t seem to find someone with the exact same problem as me.
Yesterday I bought Snow Leopard and tried installing it on my 13" Macbook Pro. Everything went fine and it´s running ok, except from the fact that I can´t update it. Software update will ask me to install pack 10.6.2 but I click install and it doesn´t run.
I´ve tried downloading the 10.6.1 from apple.com and installing it but the same thing seems to happen. It doesn´t run. I´ve tried everything, including repairing disk permissions... It won´t install.
Does anyone have a clue of what I should do?
    Thank you.

    Hi!
I had the same problem with updating to 10.6.2 from Snow Leopard (brazilian custom language/keyboard). But instead of removing the file, I just changed to english setting, installed the update OK and returned to pt-br setting. Everything fine.
    Best regards!

  • Can't seem to install on Nokia N900

I go to firefox/m on the N900, I push the download button. It switches to the App Manager and says downloading, then within maybe a few seconds, preparing to install. That trundles for a short while, it ends, and I'm back in the regular App Manager window with "Uninstall" "download" and "update." No other info. And I can't find the presumably installed firefox anywhere. There's no icon on the main screen with all the other icons. I even tried opening a terminal and typing "firefox". (No such program, it said.) I've tried this three times, and as far as I can tell, it's just not installing. What am I doing wrong?
    == Extensions installed: ==
    None yet

    >Do you mean the home screen/desktop, or the "all apps" view that you get when >you click the "grid" icon in the top left corner of the task switcher?
Yes, exactly. I just got the N900 (yesterday!) so what I don't know about how to use it could fill books.
I just tried checking whether it's in the uninstaller -- no -- and whether typing the command fennec works -- also not. It says "fennec: not found". So it seems that it really isn't installed.
No, I hadn't installed a Firefox or Fennec before. This was my first attempt. (Well, my first three attempts. I hope I didn't mess anything up with all the retries.)
I haven't tried the alternate method of sending the download link to my phone number, and I'd rather not since I figure that means I'll be paying T-mobile some ungodly amount for data rates. I'm using the N900 over my wifi, and I could also hook it up to my computer with the data cable. I run ubuntu 10.04.

  • Hi. I can't seem to install iTunes 10.5 on my Windows Vista Starter laptop.

Each time I try (about six times in the past 5 hours), this pops up: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I've tried a bunch of methods I found online (regedit, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc.) but I was hoping you could recommend a better solution.
    Help, please?

Hi again! Fixed it myself, but here's what I did (in case anyone else encounters the same problem):
Control Panel > Programs and Features > Add or Remove Programs
    1. Uninstall iTunes (if you're upgrading, but if it's a fresh install, disregard this step)
    2. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support
    3. Uninstall Apple Application Support
    4. Uninstall Bonjour
    5. Repair Apple Software Update. If you can't, try uninstalling. I couldn't uninstall or repair mine (the same error message appeared) so I used Microsoft Fixit Engine (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall) to uninstall it.
    6. Download the iTunes installer and run it. Voila!
