I can't seem to open additional tabs with the +, the drop down menu, or Command T? Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
I'm running Firefox 30.0 in OS 10.8.5 on a Mac Book Pro with the 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7 and 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory.

Have you selected an image?
Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

On the Firefox drop down menu for Firefox 4, the tab for cut, copy and paste is not highlighted. Is there another way for me to include this on the Firefox start page?

I have Firefox 4. In the Firefox drop down menu, there is an option to cut, copy and paste but it is not highlighted. Please tell me how to highlight this link. Or is there a way to have a cut copy and paste tab?

Those links in the Edit menu are only highlighted if there is something to do: 
Paste should be enabled if the clipboard has data placed on it by a previous Copy or Cut and you have set focus on a text area or field that allows to paste that data.
Copy works if some text is selected.

I use the google search bar for everything and since downloading FF4 i can not select any of the suggestions in the google drop down menu

I have tried to select one of the suggestions that google give me for my search but FF it wont let me. I have type everything out in full. I hate FF4 it is rubbish. I loved firefox before this one came out but now I am seriously thinking of going over to google chrome.

One of the reasons I abandoned Chrome in favour of Firefox was due to the "black band of doom" that appears on the top of the Google page - so setting up my homepage to google.co.uk just puts that back in the ugly spotlight.
I was, though, pleasantly surprised to see a Google search bar on the Mozilla Firefox Start Page (without the black band and Google options that I am just not interested in) but bitterly disappointed that it is Google.fr (due to my ISP being French).
I shall learn to live with Yahoo (or worse case scenario, Bing!)

I cannot open more than 1 Tab per window. The "+" does not work as well as the item "New Tab" from the File drop-down menu. What shall I do ?

I have just removed FireFox and reinstalled it again on my Mac Book PRO.
When I open FIreFox I canNOT open more than 1 TAB.
I click on the "+"on the top line of the window. It should open another TAB but id does NOT.
I click on the File item in the top menu bar. A drop-down menu pops up. I click on "New Tab" and nothing happens.
How can I get more than 1 Tab on the same window ?

We have seen reports about a Community Toolbar extension causing this issue with not being able to open a new tab.
So if you have such a toolbar then start with disabling it.

Can't Block Person in iChat, with task bar drop down menu in Buddies.

I was wondering if anyone knows how i can use my "Block Person", on iChat (task bar with drop down menu in Buddies). I am pretty sure this worked has worked before , the command is there it just seems to stay greyed out. I know it can be done in the Security tab / ichat preferences, I would like it to work under the Buddies drop down as well. I know it did before, my HD was replaced. Help would be most appreciated.

Ok. iChat 3 has a setting that needs to be set if you are going to use the same screen name on two copmuters or on two apps on the same computer.
Go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts
Select the AIM account in question in the left hand column
Select the Account Info tab.
Log out of AIM (iChat menu)
Check the check box "Allow Multiple Logins for This Account"
Log back into AIM.
If this is not checked starting iChat 3 will boot off (log out) any other AIM Client using the same screen name whether it is on the same computer or not
From what the ISP says and what you have posted here it seems the modem is in Bridge mode.
I take it if you open System Preferences > Network > Select Airport from the second drop down > TCP/IP tab you IP is shown as 10.0.1.2 ?
And the drop down just above that says "USING DHCP" ?
This would mean the Airport is in default mode and Issuing Addresses.
Also by default an Airport would do NAT. (Network Address Translation)
This measn the Airport sorts out where each bit of data has to go.
It is different from other routers as you don't have the specify which ports are going to whch ports on one IP (Port Forwarding)

If it is this one you may need to look at the QoS settings.
These are setings that are supposed to protct you form reciveing data too quickly. (helpful if you are running a busy web site but restrictive sometimes for iChat).
As you are omly talking about sorting out Block lists it is prpobably the multiple login option that needs doing.

My search bar is messed up after update. I want the old drop down menu back. I can't search for anything now. Firefox is absolutely useless to me now.

Firefox software update appeared. I allowed it to be installed. It screwed up the search bar/box. I use to be able to click on the magnifying glass icon and ALL the search engine options would appear and I could easily chose one. It was easy. Now nothing. I cannot search anything through Firefox. Firefox is useless to me now, which means I have no computer. Do I have to go out and spend another $1000 to get a new computer? This is not right. You should not do this to a person. Not everybody is technically advanced as some of you are. Now I have no means of searching for anything using Firefox. I really liked Firefox. Now your software update messed me all up. So what am I supposed to do???????????????? IE is worthless. Not safe, not secure, can't trust it. Never works right. Can't even print out correctly. Firefox update should not have messed up my computer. I need to make searches and now I can't. I mean it, it really is not right. So, just for you so called brilliant Stanford types, when I click on the magnifying glass icon or the little, inverted triangle, there is nothing. The search bar is blank. Blank, blank, blank. No longer the quick drop down window with all the available search engine selections. Got it? That's why I've repeated myself. Have a real nice day!

HI I'm trying to build a vertical drop down menu with five
buttons. the third button will have three options that are revealed
on rollover. The three options are revealed as the bottom two
buttons move down the stage and then move back again on roll out of
the third button. I hope this makes sense and that someone can

It's not under Security tab...Click on the Wireless tab and then Wireless Security subtab and you will see the drop down menu where you can select WEP/WPA...

Why can't we have "show cookies" menu be a button in the new drop down menu on FF29 ?

I see the new Firefox 29 has a drop down menu in the upper right corner, with various shortcut symbols. One of them is "preferences", but I would like to make that to be have an even shorter shortcut to "show cookies", instead of having it buried in several clicks as in the old versions of FF.

Previously i was able to select tools in the bridge and then select image processor to make jpegs from my tiffs, the image processor tab is no longer on the tools drop down menu

previously while in bridge, i was able to select tools in the drop down menu and then select image processor to get to the page where i can make tiffs and jpegs. That option is no longer available in the drop down tool selection. How do I make jpegs from my tiffs now in the bridge.

In current Firefox releases the search bar on the about:home page and the about:newtab page have an autocomplete=off attribute that prevents Firefox from saving form data and now show search suggestions just like you get on the regular Google search page.

How can I get the airport drop down menu to allow me to enter a WPA2 Personal Password

Powerbook G4, with Airport Card firmware 9.52. Through the System Preferences, Network, using the "edit" button, I can enter a WPA2 Personal password, but when I go to connect to the network, the drop down menu only allows me to enter a WEP Password. And, obviously, I get an error message saying I have the wrong password. Why can I use WPA2 in the system preferences, but the airport menu doesn't then allow me to enter a WPA2 password to connect?

The x mark at the right corner of each tab is missing in my ff4.1. I have to right click the tab and then choose the close tab from the drop down? Is this a bug or am i missing something

I think we can eliminate the graphics card as a suspect (and therefore its driver). I just re-connected my monitor using the internal graphics processor. The Intel 4600. Not fantastic but actually has better features than the card I had hooked up before. (I might as well stay with this for now. It's an HDMI hook up.)
The problem is still there.
This gets more curious all the time. At this point It would seem that the the likelihood of this being a bug is more or less zero, as myself and one other individual are the only ones reporting it.
So, I'm thinking it has to be a flawed install. Maybe some line/lines of code are corrupt, if that can happen while still maintaining the rest of the programs integrity.
Any other thoughts anyone?
