I can't select split document option with CS6
Hi. I have Indesign CS5.5 on PC but I have been working on a document with the trial of CS6. I have set a table of contents (in the user interface, not in the book pages.)
I'm all set to export the document. In CS5.5 i have the option to tick the box Export Document at Paragraph Style and then select the style that I want my book to be split at. This always works fine.
However when using CS6 to export to epub i select the Advanced tab. The Split Document box does not list the style I want to use to split the document.
It just has Body text, Chapter Title, intro/outro and Based on Paragraphy Style Export Tag. Why can I not select the style I want that is in my document?
Is it a limitation of the trial?
In CS6, you now have the option of selecting multiple paragraph styles where you can break a page. Open the Paragraph Styles panel. From the panel menu, choose Edit All Export Tags. In the dialog, check Split EPUB beside each paragraph style where you want the EPUB file to create a page break (new XHTML file). When exporting, in the Split Document menu, choose Based on Paragraph Style Export Tags.

KlausI confirm your issue as I just tried an audio CD in my XP laptop. "All Files" showed only the 44 byte .cda files and no others. QuickTime couldn't open them (error -2048).
I also tried "Open File" with version 7 Pro and it couldn't open.
Odd that I get the option to open using iTunes and it opens and plays just fine. Since iTunes uses the QuickTime engine I would have thought QuickTime could read the files directly.
The same audio CD inserted in my Mac allowed me to double click any track and it opened directly in QuickTime Player. The files show as .aiff files measured in MB's.
Windows users could open an audio CD in iTunes and then convert to .aiff (no compression) and then open the .aiff in QuickTime.
I guess I should have tried myself before getting your hopes up. I apologize. -

Can't select at log in with magic track pad
when I get to the log in screen I can move my curser but can't select nothing when I tap the magic track pad I end up hooking up a wired mouse to select user name to input it
Untill you solve the problem, here's a workaround:
If you type the first letter or two of the user you are trying to login as and then press return it will select that user at which point you can input the password. -
Can't select tools or settings in CS6
I just installed InDesign CS6 via creative cloud and I'm having an issue with selecting tools. For example with the Character Panel, when I select text in my document and go to the Character panel, InDesign won't let me select any other fonts, select the drop down menu, or change any font settings (size, tracking, etc.). If I'm in a text box I can't select the Direct Selection tool. I tried a new document and an old document with no luck. Any advice? Thanks!

Keyboard accessibility, Captivate 8 - I cannot select multiple choice options with tab / enter.
It seems that most information I can find is that it's a standard feature, and if you have the accessibility checkbox selected then it should work. I'm viewing my quiz in HTML5 Chrome. Tabs do not enter the answers, am I missing something obvious?
I don't know if you resolved this yet... but I had the same problem. Eventually I realized that you have to TAB - SPACE BAR on the quiz slides. With the drop downs for filling in the blanks, it is TAB to, SPACE BAR, UP DOWN ARROW KEYS, ENTER. I am having to put instructions on the slide. Also, I'm having a nightmare with the tabbing on quiz slides, because for some reason it tabs on EVERYTHING on the slide, not just the interactive options. It even tabs the slide itself. I can't fix it... I've tried everything. I have it all perfect on everything but the quiz slides, then it loses focus. Also, for the fill in the blank quiz slides, it tabs to the selections all over the place. First it goes to question 1, then 6 then 3, then 2... and so on. As these don't show up in the tabable order feature, I can't fix that either.
Sorry I just probably made it worse for you... but if you know of a fix for these other tabbing issues with quiz slides, please let me know. -
Can't select after holding option on startup
When I startup holding down the option key, the boot selection screen appears but the mouse no longer changes to a pointer so I'm unable to select something. All I see is the animated clock.
Sounds like you have a problem with your hard drive/OS X. I suggest as a start you try this:
Boot from your OS X Installer. Be sure to use the installer for the version of OS X you have installed. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu if using Tiger.) After DU loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (3.0.3 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.1.1 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -

Can't select podcasts to sync with iPod Nano
I am running iTunes 12.1.0.71 (64-bit) on a Windows 8 computer. When I have my iPod Nano connected to the computer and try to manually check the podcasts I want to sync, the checkboxes don't work as they should. When I click on the check box of a podcast, it sometimes selects the podcast above it, sometimes it selects nothing -- what it never does is select the podcast next to the check box (ie the one I want to sync). Any ideas??
Kiwi if you're still following this, I have a workaround. Instead of going to the iPod sync screen, instead just start on your normal iTunes Podcasts screen. You can manually drag individual episodes to the left side of the screen, and your iPod should show up right above your playlists. Very cumbersome if you have non-sequential episodes you want to add, but it works. You can also ctrl-click to select or deselect all podcasts in the normal syncing screen.
Back in the good old days, these sorts of workarounds were much easier to discover since there were always a dozen different methods to do the same task. Unfortunately I've found that is becoming harder and harder with iTunes. -
Can't select local html files with web object in captivate 8
I can select pdf's via browse, but it I want to add local html files I have to type the path in manually. I'm guessing this is just a bug, I should be able to choose web pages for the web object even if they are local right?
Fireworks is a graphics editor that can export code; it is not an HTML/code editor.
If you have exported HTML from Fireworks, you ought to be able to re-import that, but I would think most people who use Fireworks exported code would just modify their Fireworks document and re-export. (Fireworks' code is not robust and it is only intended for mockups and prototypes. Fireworks is not intended for developing and maintaining live Web sites; Dreamweaver is.)
If your developer used Dreamweaver, then I really don't expect that Fireworks would be able to import that, nor any code that isn't in exactly the format that it can export. If you know your developer used Fireworks, then you need to look for .png files. Fireworks uses an enhanced version of the PNG format for its native document format.
If you are making small adjustments to your site, then you might be better off working in Dreamweaver. If you're doing a site re-design, then Fireworks is an excellent tool for laying out your design and producing your graphics, but you will, at some point, need to move over to Dreamweaver for coding. -
HT201301 Can't select "Save To" option in File Sharing
Hi,
I'm currently using 11.0.1 iTunes on a 10.8 Mountain Lion MacBook to try and transfer pdfs to an app called ForScore on my iPad - ever since upgrading to 11.0.1, I haven't been able to click on the Save To button if I have a lot of files in the list on the right hand side. When you scroll down, you find the "Add" and "Save To" button squished up right at the bottom. I can select the "Add" one, but not the "Save To" button. If I try using the tab key to navigate to it, it scrolls through the search fields but doesn't go to the Save To button.
Any suggestions?I've seen the same thing that you are talking about and right now I am drawing a blank on what I did to overcome this but you could try View>Show status bar>Off. Turn off the status bar at the bottom of oTunes if you have it enabled ... I think that the status bar option is under view in the iTunes menu. (Not at my home computer right now, sorry!)
You can just drag the file onto the desktop and save it to whatever folder you want from there. -
Can't Select Label Print Location With Address Book 3.1.2
When printing a single address from Address book 3.1.2 on a sheet of mailing labels such as an Avery 5163, the print dialog box puts the address in the upper left hand position and YOU CANT CHANGE THIS. If you've already used several labels from this sheet, you need a way to change the address print position and THERE'S NO WAY TO DO THIS. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! My old TouchBase program FROM 1992 allows this easily and will print a return address on the same label as well! Jeez, who's designing these things??????
Does anybody know of some third party developer who has figured out a way to fix this?I have used "Imprint" to solve this and other problems with printing labels and envelopes from Address Book.

Deleted emails on Thunderbird, message said can't use the recovery option with Firefox 30.
Accidently held the delete button down too long. Deleted all emails. Not in the trash nor I caouldn't find them anywhere on Thunderbird.
