  • My iPhone4 loses signal and when I do hard reset, I can't send or receive SMS and calls. I have to back-up and restore weekly!

    It started last month before I ungraded to iOS5. So my network provider advised me to upgrade. It fixed the problem but it happens again after several days. I lose signal then when I do hard reset, signal is back but I can't send or receive SMS or make and receive calls. But from the other end my phone is ringing but nothing is happening to my phone.This is really frustrating! Coz it happens weekly and the only way to fix it is to back-up and restore. Which is a hassle coz it takes me about 3 hours! Please help. My phone is still under warranty but the provider is telling me it might take them 3 months to check and fix.
    I think there is a bug with the iOS5 coz it happen when it I upgraded. Before I was quite happy with my iPhone4 but now it has become a source of anxiety and stress. I've received a lot of complaints at work coz they couldn't contact me.

    Try to set it up as new device without using the last backup: How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • One more person who can't send mail but can receive

    I sent mail last night and woke up this morning not being able to send mail.
    I can receive, but can't send. I can send to my self, but can't reply to others or create new.
    The email time out message say's the authentication is on. How that changed over night? Not sure.
    Under Mail preferences, Account information, outgoing server settings-
    I've been using 2525 with no authentication for over a year. I noticed someone suggesting 465 and 587... didn't work.
    I went into advanced and saw where it IS asking for authentication (using password) but in the drop down list it doesn't give the word 'none' just like the account option had to select.
    I used the connection Doctor and I have connection...
    what else can I do?
    Thank you for the help
    Chelle

    The standard TCP-port for SMTP is 25. If this doesn't work, try to authenticate to the SMTP-server with the credentials of your POP3-login. Maybe your ISP reconfigured his SMTP-servers to use aSMTP.
    Some other ISP use a method called "SMTP-after-POP3". This means, that you must fetch your mail using POP3 first. After doing this, you have a specific period of time (at most ISPs 5 to 15 minutes) to send mail from the same IP-address as you have POPed before. This is for additional security.
    One more reason could be that your configured SMTP-server is simply "dead" or offline for system maintenance. To check if the machine is alive, go to terminal and
    ping nameofyourserver
    and see if it responds. If so, try connecting on the SMTP port by typing
    telnet nameofyourserver 25
    These steps can provide additional information to find the cause for your problem.

  • Hp Office Jet Pro 8600 A910, suddenly can't send fax. Reveiving faxes are ok.

    We can't send any fax, but we can still receive a fax. This happened suddenly without any changes (on device or our telephone line) When sending a fax it dials and gives a busy tone. After that we get a error sheet pointing out Error 388, communication error. Following things we did:- Tried sending fax on our other phone line to rule out broken phone cable/connections.- Called to phone and from phone to fax which worked.- Printed out T90 testsheet. All tests passed.- Tried faxing with ECM off or in other words turned off the error connection mode.- Tried faxing with lower connection speed setting.- Checked other settings to see if there was anything wrong, but all okay.- Powered off, disconnected power cable for at least 15 seconds. Is the fax broken or anything else we can try?

    Hi , I see you have been troubleshooting an issue with your Officejet Pro 8600 no longer able to send faxes, and I think I may have found some more information for you. Can you specify your your exact printer model for me? In your post title you say it is an 'Office Jet Pro 8600 A910' but and A910 is an Officejet 8500A. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Seems like an odd question, but the printer make a copy? It could be an issue with the scanner mechanism.
     Is the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or a power bar? We want to connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. See this document for more information about Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector (Note: This document is not limited to Laserjet printers.)
     HP regularly releases firmware updates that may also correct the problem you are experiencing. It's usually located in the setup menu, under tools. The fax test report will let you know if it finds any problems and how to correct them. Once everything passes on the fax test report, you can Test Your HP Fax Machine with the HP Fax Test Service.  I reviewed the error code you provided from the Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports document.  Error 388: There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time. Retry the fax reception when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. Have you touched base with the phone company to make sure they have not changed anything on their end? Does this same error occur with every number you try to dial?  You could see if anything in Fax Sending Fails Intermittently or Fails for Only One Recipient is helpful as well.  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,

  • THROUGH HTTP CAN WE SEND FLAT FILE IN  PI7.3?

    Hi Experts,
    We have an requirement that Through HTTP can we send flat file in PI7.3.(For EX:source side HTTP and Target side is IDOC or PROXY)
    Can any one please suggest me how can I proceed for that?
    Please let me know if there is any Documents or Blogs are there related to above requirement...
    Thanks,
    Shaik

    Hi Shaik,
    You can try following approach might help.
    Tell the sender system to use post method for HTTP connection. In post method the particular application will hit to a URL and data will be passed. Source system should pass the data same as that of Text file. Use following link which will help you to convert the data sent as text into XML. Further you can use this XML to convert further into IDOC or proxy.

    Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
    Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
    And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:
    Type
    ping facebook.com
    into the window. Do you see any transmissions? What is the IP address used?

  • Firewire as audio out -  can i send my iTunes out through my firewire port and into a DAC?

    I have a 5 year old (retired) MacBook with firewire 400 and 2 USB 2 ports.  I want to use it as my music source for a fine stereo system.  I want to know if I can use my firewire port to ship my digital music signal out to a DAC before sending it to my pre-amp in analogue format.  OR, can I use the optical digital audio out in the heaphone jack to do it?  What is the bandwidth of the optical out?

    You do not need .Mac in order to send photos by e-mail. It sounds like you use ATT as you internet provider. Have you configured Apple Mail to be able to send e-mail yet? Can you send an e-mail text message OK?
    If you haven't yet gotten Mail configured to work with your ATT account a quick call to ATT should give you all the information you need. Setting up Mail is easy.
    Post back with further questions.
    Regards,
    Steve M.

  • Can't send emails.  Can you help pls? Thanks.

    Hi, my Mac Book Pro won't let me send emails.  It says: Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Gmail Offline.  Can you help pls? Thanks.

    Help.  I have the same problem.  I can receive email but can not send email from my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.4.
    I have been reading posts about this issue until my eyes are rectangular.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Removing the passwords from the keychain.
    2. Trying the various ports (default set, custom 25 alone, custom 465 alone, custom 587 alone)
    3. Unticking the Use SSL box.   Interesting note, it sometimes self-ticks this box.
    4. Supplying full email name in the userid box.  Interesting note, it sometimes self-corrects to just the plain userid prefix.
    5. Running repair disk permissions
    6. Turning offline all mailbox accounts and then turning then back online.
    7. Rebooting numerous times
    8. Force Quit of Mail and numerous normal quits and restarts.
    9. All software updates have been installed.
    10.  I may have forgotten some of the more bizarre things I have tried but I have not got to the point of deleting the entire account (and all of its 3 years of emails).
    I have a sister MacBook Pro (same operating system, larger screen, same ISP, same email provider, same power source, etc.) sitting right next to this one and it is working fine - mail comes in and mail goes out. It is on the same network and I have dutifully copied all of the parameters and this still does not solve the issue.  Surely, there is more witchcraft out there that I can try?   New to this "posting" process.  Not even sure how to get back to see if anyone has any further suggestions.  Thanks to all those who have tried to provide suggestions.  Much appreciated but I am still stuck with webmail!  Arghhhh. • Can I connect open source evolution mail client to an OCS Mail Server?

    Hi.
    I'm trying to configure an evolution mail client to connect to OCS Mail Server. The idea would be to evaluate this solution over costly MS Outlook. I'm aware that Oracle provides a connector for outlook client and that this facility might offer certain functionality not available with other mail clients. So far, i can connect, send and receive mails. However i can't access the distribution list in Oracle Mail Server, or put in other words, i can't access the OID. Evolution offers the option to connect to an ldap server, but i've not been able to connect. The guys as Metalink tell me that if this client can connect to an ldap server one could accessed the distribution list in OID.
    So :
    - Has anyone out there tried to connect this mail client or any other open source mail client to OCS Mail Server?.
    - Can evolution client really connect to an ldap server? one like OID?.
    Thanks in advance ...!

    Hello Luis!
    I have in the past used different mail clients to connect to the OCS. So as a fact as long as they speak POP3 or IMAP you should be capable of reading your mails.
    However I did not try to use the distribution lists.
    What exactly is not working with the connection to the OID (LDAP) from the Evolution client?
    Did you try to set the logging in the OID to a higher value? This helped me lots of times when dealing with OID problems.

  • Can you send your iPad to Apple to fix a cracked screen?

    Can you send a ipad (3rd gen) with a cracked screen to Apple, will they fix it and how much will it cost?

    The standard 1-year Apple Care warranty only covers defects in materials and workmanship, not damage due to accidents.
    Apple's Limited Warranty http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/ for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.
    Out-of-Warranty Service
         If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    $219
    iPad 3rd, 4th generation
    $299
    iPad 2, iPad
    $249
    A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if service is arranged through Apple and requires shipping. All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.
    Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad

    http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
    You may can get the iPad repaired at 3rd party repair sources for less $, however, any remaining Apple warranty will be voided.

  • Sockets: can only send once file through

    Hi,
    I am using sockets to send text and files to a client on a Clio. I want to send multiple files through. However, only the first file goes through. The rest are never received (although they are uploaded). My question is:
    Why can not send anything through the socket (text or files) after the first file is sent?
    The fileSend() is on the server side, fileReceive is on the client side.
    public static void fileSend (Socket uploadSocket, String source) {
         try {
             InputStream inFile = new FileInputStream(source);
             InputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(inFile);
             OutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(uploadSocket.getOutputStream());
             System.out.println("Sending " + source + ".");
             int data;
             int bytes = 0;
             while ((data = in.read()) != -1) {
              bytes++;
              out.write(data);
             bytes++;
             out.write(data);
             if (in != null) in.close();
             if (out != null) out.flush();
             System.out.println("Upload complete: " + bytes + " Bytes!");
         catch (Exception e) {
             System.err.println("Couldn't upload " + source + ": " + e.getMessage());
       public static void fileReceive (Socket downloadSocket, String destination) {
         try {
             InputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(downloadSocket.getInputStream());
             OutputStream outFile = new FileOutputStream(destination);
             OutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(outFile);
             System.out.println("Downloading data to " + destination + ".");
             int data = in.read();
             int bytes = 0;
             while (data != -1) {
              bytes++;
              out.write(data);
              data = in.read();
             bytes++;
             if (out != null) {
              out.flush();
              out.close();
             outFile.close();
             System.out.println("Download complete: " + bytes + " Bytes!");
             in.skip(in.available());
         catch (Exception e) {
             System.err.println("Couldn't download " + destination + ": " + e.getMessage());
        }Thanks,
    Neetin

    I think its better to pass the outputstream to the filesend() method and inputstream to fileReceive() method
    something like this:
    OutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(uploadSocket.getOutputStream());
    public static void fileSend (OutputStream os, String source) {
      //write your file onto the output stream
    InputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(downloadSocket.getInputStream());
    public static void fileReceive (InputStream is) {
      //Read from the input stream
    }This should work.. Good luck

    Why can I send  but not receive them?

    Macrumors posted a solution for this.  I used it and it seems to have worked for me.
    Here's what they said:
    1. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages

    3. Reenable iMessage in Settings > Messages

  • Can't send mails (POP account/SMTP)

    Okay, this issue has been posted before, but none of the difficulties or possible solutions described seemed to match my problem, which is:
    When I click the "send" button in Mail, it simply does *nothing at all*. It doesn't even seem to try to do anything, let alone give me an error message.
    I used to have an iBook with OS X 10.2, and Mail has always worked perfectly fine on that system. Now I just bought a new iBook with Tiger installed. I first updated to 10.4.6, then transferred all my data, including my mail settings and mailboxes, to the new computer, with the result that I can receive mail, but I can't send e-mails. I tried deleting my account and creating a new one, but that didn't change anything. I can send e-mails through my provider's webmail system, so the SMTP server isn't broken down; anyway, my husband is using the same server, and he can send mails, so I guess it's somehow an issue with my computer and not with the provider. My account settings are definitely correct. I can "ping" the mail server. I tried deactivating my firewall, but that wasn't the solution either.
    What else could I try? My outgoing mail server is an ordinary port 25 password-protected SMTP server. I strongly suspect that the problem is with 10.4.6, but I'm not exactly keen on the hassle of downgrading my system back to 10.4.5 or whatever... Or is there an easy way to do that?
    Any other ideas? I'd be really grateful. Not being able to send mails *****.

    Hi Johanna,
    Have you tried the Activity Viewer? (Window > Activity Viewer in the menu.) Try sending an email, and see if any error message appears in the Activity Viewer window after you click "Send".
