I can't send a text using imessage from my iphone to an ipad

I can't send or receive a text using imessage from my iphone to an ipad

The Ipdas are using IOS 6 and can text to other iphones by phone number or apple id. I have tried hard resets and did a full restore and still no success. I am using IOS 6.0.1 and have had the phone checked at our local Apple dealer and I took it to the local ATT store to be sure my phone plan was not an issue.

  • When I send a text using iMessage from my mini iPad, it selects a photo that I deleted from my MacBookPro (in Users

When sending iMessages using iPad mini an old photo that I've deleted from my MacBookPro in 'System Preferences/User&Groups' pops up with each iMessage I send. Genius Bar said iMessage was pulling this from iCloud and they recommended I change the photo inmy iCloud account, which I did. This did not help. Where could iMessage be gathering an old photo that's been deleted? Has anyone experienced this? and if so, is there a solution/fix?

I don't follow where this picture is appearing.  You have to go to some trouble to add a picture to an iMessage.  Might it be popping up from a contact name you are using that happens to have a picture associated with it in your contacts list?

How can I print a text message conversation from my iPhone? Not using screenshots. It's around 500 messages so screenshots is not a option.

Yes, you can delete from iphone:

It is covered in the manual.

I can neither send nor reply to messages from my iPhone 4.  It may be since I downloaded iOS 6.0 but not sure.  Any suggestions?

No, sorry, I meant emails.  I can no longer compose emails or reply to emails on my iPhone -- only receive them.  Any idea why?  Thank you!

  • How can I send a large video file from my iPhone 4?

How can I send (by text) a (fairly) large video file from my iPhone 4 without it getting compressed first?
If that's not possible is there a way to uncompress the video file one it is received onto the receiving iPhone?
Or is there a way to sync or transfer a video file from iPhone to iPhone?

ExFAT would be the best file system format, as it will handle files greater than 4GB.
If exFAT is not available, go for FAT32.
Just FAT is too limiting, so avoid that

  • Can you send a text (sms) message from a web site form ?

Anyone know of a reliable script or app that will allow a site visitor to fill out a 'form' and send an instant text message from the site ?  Same as email...but rather than email...type out and send a text message instead ?
    Thanks, Tim

Tecnically yes. This is because SMS is basically handled just like an email address, ie; [email protected]
There are services out there that will charge you either flat rate or per message to send them for you as you would need to know what server that number is on. If you want to have people select what carrier that number is on, you just create a mail form with a dropdown with a list of carriers that then set the domain variable in the TO address field. You have to plan that the user doesn't know what carrier that phone number is on, thus where the pay-for sites come in handy.

  • I can't send contact info or notes from my iPhone to another iPhone via message.  when i try touching the send button nothing happens.

I thought I used to be able to share contact information with another iphone user via messaging.  Recently I tried sharing both contact information and "note", but have been able to do so.  When I try touching the send button, nothing happens.  Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?  Or, am I mistaken, is sharing via messaging not an option?

If I send via email from either iPhone or iPad it seems like it has sent but it doesn't. If I send via text message from iPhone it says message failed to send and won't send again no matter how many times I try

  • Can't send nor receive photos to/from non-iPhone users

I have Metro PCS and I have unlimited data and ever since I updated to iOS 8, I haven't been able to send picture messages to non-iPhone users. I have tried everything I've found online and nothing works. It was working PERFECTLY before we updated to iOS8! I could send picture messages to anyone without any problem. The rest of my family, who share the same family plan with me, can send pictures just fine (they're all android users). However, my sister and I, who are iPhone 5s users, can't send nor receive picture messages. Every time we try to send a pic to an android user, it immediately says not delivered. It doesn't even try to send it. And it's not a problem with my data because I can watch youtube videos with my 4g just fine. I even turn off the Wi-Fi to test it out and it works well. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

i don't need to, everyone of my contacts has it. Plus every new contact/friend i've made in the last year or two has had it. maybe the apple fanbois here don't like to hear that.
I'm happy that it works for you. It may not be an option for the OP. It certainly wouldn't work for me as I have a fair number of friends with basic phones. Again, Whatsapp is only viable as a replacement for SMS if everyone you want to message is willing to download and use it. If everyone the OP knows is not wiilling to do that, they may need to resolve their existing problem.

  • Can you use facetime from cellular iPhone to wifi iPad Mini?

I've noticed I can connect from my iPhone 4S to an iPad Mini when we are both using wifi.
Howver, I cannot connect to the iPad when I am using cellular only (no wifi) on the iPhone (the iPad is wifi only).
I can connect to other iPhones when we both use cellular, so I know it's not an issue due to a carrier restriction of my cellular use (Verizon).
Is there an incompatiblity between using facetime from a cellular device to a wifi-only device? I would have though Apple would have a bridge between internet and cellular data for this.
    Thanks

This is copied from the Apple iOS features website.
*FaceTime video calling requires a FaceTime-enabled device for the caller and recipient and a Wi-Fi connection. FaceTime over a cellular network requires iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPad (3rd generation) with cellular data capability. Availability over a cellular network depends on carrier policies; data charges may apply.
Sometimes I find the "small print" to be even more confusing, but the way that I interpret this is that you have to go cellular to cellular. Cellular to WiFi doesn't work. It does seem to make sense, if you are sending the "message" or trying to connect over cellular, the person on the other end would need to pick up the "message" via cellular since it was sent that way by you.

  • I can't share a contact using email on my iphone 4 or ipad. Using iOS 7.1.2

Recently I have been unable to share contacts or notes from my iPhone or iPad.  I can't be sure but I believe this is occurring after I downloaded iOS 7.1.2. I've been playing around in settings to see if something was turned on or off but don't see any glaring problem.

It works fine for me in iOS 7.1.2. If you are in the mail app, tap on the email address that you want to share, and then select Share Contact from the resulting window. You have to swipe down to the bottom of the window.
If you know this, and that is what you are doing, explain what happens when you try.

  • How do I iMessage from my iPhone to an iPad user?

I can iMessage from an ios5 iPhone to another iPhone and from an iPad to another iDevice all OK
but how do you enter an email address into iMessage on an iPhone so I can iMessage an iPad user? The problem is that iMessage on the iPhone only allows you to enter phone numbers or contacts (which are then restricted to phone numbers even though they may have email addresses associated with them) ?
    Regards
    Gary

I noticed that the emails show without @ and .
Tried to imitate it, I even noticed that some letters are capitalized tried doing so too...
    But no it doesn't work...
You either have to access it from contacts, or type the email in the message box then copy and paste in the recipient's box, or simply wait till thy person contacts you to reply...
Which for me is a real bothering issue...
This needs to be fixed ASAP to allow us to write an email in the recipient box in iMessage, and it needs to allow us to choose an email and not just a phone number once a contact is chosen from within the message.app...
It's definitely a bug, or let's say a slip... I can't see how all those developers who beta tested didn't notice it!!!
    And it needs fixing ASAP...

  • Cannot send/rec texts on iMac from non-iphone uses

    iMac has Yosemite installed
    iPhone 6+ has iOS 8.3
This used to work until recently when I had to change my Mac ID password. Since then, I cannot sent a text message from my iMac to a non iPhone user.  Also it does not receive texts either...
I can send/receive to anyone on the iPhone

    Hi again,
So on the Mac in Messages > Preferences > Accounts does the account looked logged in  (iMessages) ?
    YES
The Account can send Blue iMessages but not SMS, that is correct ?
    YES
On the iPhone > Settings > Messages > Text Forwarding is it Enabled ?
    - OK, this is interesting...
I select > Text Messages Forwarding, My iMac appears, and the switch is OFF
I tap it ON & get a textbox stating "Enter the code shown on your mac to allow txts to be sent/rec on the mac.."
However, no code appears on the iMac...
This appears to be the problem, any ideas???

  • I have an ipad mini. I do not have an iphone or a mac. I want to add my friend's telephone number (she has an iphone) to my contacts so we can use imessage between her iphone and my ipad. How do I do this?

How do I add a friend's phone number for messaging on my ipad? I do not have an iphone.

    Hi
To enable imessage on ipad check that imessage is enabled in settings>messages but note that any message that you send from your ipad will be from your email address as you dont have a mobile number linked to imessage.
With everything enabed you should just be able to add contact into your contact list and then message them from there
    Hope this helps
