I can't send emails anymore. Lately out of nowhere, I couldn't dend any emails fom my Ipad. I receive a message saying: the recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.
Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works.

I had this problem with my iPad. You need to set your outgoing mail server to match your data provider rather than your email ISP. For example, my data provider for the iPad is Telstra and their mail server is mail.bigpond.com but my email account is through my home ISP Bordernet so when I had my outgoing SMTP as mail.bordernet.com.au all my outgoing emails would give me the same error until I changed the settings on my iPad so that the outgoing SMTP server i mail.bigpond.com. My email is not working properly, I can receive emails but I cannot send them. Every time I try to send an email an error message appear saying "The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying". There used to be no problem with my email it has only come up recently. Also, my Internet works fine. I have tryed restoring my iPad to factory settings but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix it?
try to check the email id of the guy you are trying to send the email to as i had the same problem i had written yahoo.com when it was yahoo.in

That's because you did not enter your screen name and password for the outgoing (SMTP) mail server on the phone. Or if you did they got erased. Go to Settings for the account and enter them.

When I try to send an email I get the message rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. I have sent mails for months with no problems but has started to be recoccuring. Can anyone help please as its pointless having email on my phone otherwise :-( as i have to wait till i log on at home to respond.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

On the email account's settings (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tapping on the account on the right), go into it's outgoing SMTP settings and try putting in your email name and password (they might currently show as 'optional')
