    Hello,
Different members of the family are using the same ipad. How can I set up a password for each email account to keep privacy ?

You can not - it's a single-account device, including email, so you can't set up seperate passwords for seperate emails. All or nothing, I'm afraid.

  • How can I reset my administrator password, without knowing the original administrator password?

    Hi guys,
I use a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. A few months ago I reset my administrator password and have not been able to remember it since. Consequently, I haven’t been able to do any software updates, my computer is running slow and I'm getting a lot of pop-up junk on my screen. I’m the only user on my computer, apart from the Guest User (Sharing only).
How can I reset my administrator password, without knowing the original password?
    Thanks.

  • Can I set up a password for when renting movies from my Apple TV without having to sign out?

Can I set up a password when renting movies from my Apple TV without having to sign out?

Is there an issue just signing out?  It's a chore entering itunes store password sometimes I agree but there's no way to set a local password on AppleTV - though it's a good idea as you could have a simpler one than for itunes store.
Ordinarily I enter my password for rentals though AppleTV ususally asks if I want it to remember it automatically.  If you sign out and sign back in you should get the option.

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Utilities from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access the Menubar at top.

  • How important is it to set an administrative password on my MacBook?

My administrative password for my MacBook has been blank since I bought it. How important is it to set an administrative password on my MacBook?

If you are the only one to use the MacBook you don't really need an administrative password. The main use for it is to stop other users from accessing and making changes on the Macbook.

  • Can I set up a password protected webpage within my site? CS4

Can I set up a password protected webpage within my site? I'm using CS4 and would like to create an orphaned page for internal use only.  Is there any way you can set up a password protect on one page within an otherwise public website?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

The simplest way to achieve this would be to enable password protection for a certain subdirectory by using .htaccess. As long as you / your provider is using apache as web server this can be setup within minutes, all you need is a ftp client (plenty of freeware ones out there),
and here's a tutorial on how to do it: http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess3.shtml Google will list many more if you search for "htaccess password"
Or, send your provider an email, he might be willing to do it for you, maybe even for free, since it doesnt take more than 5 minutes to set up.

  • Help, I can't set my own password

    Hello all,
I just did an erase and install of Tiger. After it installed it would not give me the setup assistant because it said "my monitor did not support it". (I think it's because I erased my monitor driver.) So I went and found the profile for my Viewsonic (it said they use profiles not drivers) My system folder will not let me put in the profile in without my password. but I was never allowed to set my password in the first place, so I don't know what it is.
    Can anybody help?

  • HT4798 how can i reset my administrator password if i forgot the password?

I recently bought a macbook pro. I set it up last night, and i know i have the correct administrator (myself, the only user) and password, yet for some reason when i go to type my sername and password, it says it's incorrect. Therefor, i need to figure out how to change my administrator password or username, or find out where i can find the info to tell me what it is, incase i typed either in incorrectly.

Did you try using your Apple ID to reset the password?
    Did you enable FileVault?
    If you get nowhere:
Changing or resetting an account password (Lion):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274
Scroll down to Resetting the original administrator account password. Try the procedure under reset your user password with your Apple ID.
If that does not work for whatever reason you can also use the following technique:
Restart your Mac while holding down the ⌘ and R keys at the same time until you see the Mac OS X Utilities screen.
From the menu bar at the top, select Utilities > Terminal.
In the Terminal window type resetpassword and press Enter. A window will open behind Terminal that looks like this
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD" in the above screenshot), choose your user account from the dropdown selection, enter a new password, complete the password hint field, and click Save.
You may then see a confirmation dialog explaining how this change affects Keychain Access and what to do about it. Remember it or write it down, then click OK.
    Quit Reset Password
    Quit Terminal
Quit OS X Utilities and restart your Mac.
