I can't set wpa2 password

I setup my Airport time capsule. System works ok with no encription. When I introduce the WPA2 password, my MAC can't connect.

Change the name of the wireless network, set up WPA2 Personal, enter a password, etc and Update.
Do not use any special characters like an apostrophe, asterisk, dollar sign, etc in the wireless network name
Keep the name short.....5-20 characters
Use only letters and numbers
No blank spaces in the name
Same rules for the password
See if that helps.

  • How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox

My younger sister executed my firefox just at this afternoon(she originally use IE), and she saw something that can't be seen. How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox?

Also see this for an English version of Profile Password:
    *Profile Password: http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/profilepassword-en.html#PPF
It is an extension to protect the profile with a password, but being an extension that protection can easily be bypassed by starting Firefox in [[Safe mode]].<br />
So do not rely on it.<br />
If you want to protect content then you have to use methods supported by the OS like a separate user account with a password or an encrypted file system.

  • How can I set a password for my pictures on iPad Air ?

How can I set a password for my pictures on iPad Air ? if anyone have my iPad access mail or something I don't want anyone access my photos so how can I set it up.

You can't set a password for the Photos nor Mail apps, you can only set a passcode for your iPad as a whole (via Settings > Passcode).
There are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which you can copy your photos into from the Photos app (and then delete them from Photos), that app allows you (via its settings within the app) to set a password to access it.
For email you could access your email via a browser (and not have your password stored in the browser), or see if there are any email apps in your country's app store which have a password option

  • How can I set a password on my Mac Mini so someone else cannot open it and read emails, etc.?

How can I set a password on my Mac Mini?  Someone else is reading my emails.  I would like to be able to lock it so nothing on it could be seen without a password.  Is that possible?  How?

So uncheck the automatic login after making sure you know your password and it will require a password on startup.
You can also go into the security preferences and have the machine lock itself once the screensaver is activated. This is sometimes controlled from the screensaver preferences as well.
You could also go nuts and activate multiple users where your name appears in the menu bar. When you walk away from the machine you can use that menu to take you to the "login window", effectively locking your machine.

  • I have an external hard drive, can I set a password on this? The drive is already populated with data

I have an external hard drive, can I set a password on this? The drive is already populated with data

ITs an old Iomega 100gb external HD that has about 90gb of music on it. The Macbook has a 500gb HD. I would like to put the iTunes library on the internal HD so I have room to expand.
    Phil0124 wrote:

The only thing you do not want to do is over-stuff the internal hard drive. The OS needs some space to operate correctly, so if your iTunes library uses up more than say 80 to 85% of the internal HD's available space it may not be a good idea to transfer it over.
With that said, the internal HD will provide slightly faster access to the library than the external would, but other than that, you can point iTunes to the external drive just fine.

  • I can't set a password for "new user"

Im a brand new Mac user and having a few issues!! I wanted to transfer my music from my old PC so I upgraded to OS Lion to use the migration assistant. It ran overnight and was complete this morning - so I rebooted the Mac (as instructed) & now Im stuck. I can see the other user they created for me but I can't access it! It asks for a password even though I never created one!! I type in a password when it asks "NEW PASSWORD" & "VERIFY PASSWORD" & "HINT" - but it just shakes/toggles and nothing happens! Someone pls help! Thanks

You first have to set the WPA2 password in your Linksys router thru the browser address.. I think for Linksys it is 192.168.1.1 unless you changed it. I also think Linksys has a standard administrator logon router username, admin and password, admin. Check your instruction manual for specifics. The router administrator username and password can be changed. Then once you attempt to logon to the router on your Mac through Airport, the router will ask you to enter your router WPA2 password.

  • How can I set up password-protected Guest account

    Hi everyone
I need to set up password-protected guest account. The aim is to get:
    a) an account with password. So only authorized person can use it.
    b) all changes in this account should be overwritten at log-off, just like Guest account behaves.
So I need either to find a way to set password for Guest, either create a 'normal' account and somehow automate it self-cleaning at logoff.
I tried to run terminal and use
    sudo su
    passwd Guest
    [entering password 123]
Afterwards I can't login as Guest at all. System doesn't ask for a password, nor logs me in.
    Thx for any help

This question was asked 2 years ago and still hasn't been answered.
If there is not a way to add a password to guest account, what is the script that get's executed when the Guest account log's off? I can execute that on an account that I create called 'localGuest' or something like that.
I have an enterprising member of my family who has figured out that my computer is exempt from the network curfew and they are using Guest to bypass that. I have since disabled guest; however, I do like using the fresh guest environment to test software development.

  • How can I set a password for iMessage specifically?

Here's the objective. I want to be able to secure my iMessages with a password, but specifically WITHOUT setting a password on the iPod in general.
The "restrictions" tab in settings DOES NOT have iMessage as an option to be restricted (which I think is silly), so please don't recommend that. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

You can go to Settings>Messages and turn off Messages. Then go to Settings>General>Restrictions and turn on the the Restriction that prevent changing accounts.
I just verified that it works.

  • IPhoto 8.1.2 how can you set a password on an event or album?

I am downloading pictures from my iphone 4 to my iphoto on my mac and I wanted to set a password on a certain group of pictures and was wondering how to do that for the iPhoto 8.1.2 version.

You can't. It's not a feature of iPhoto.
For photos you want to hide from Mommy, put them in a Library stored on an encrypted disk image.

  • How can I set a password to a specific folder?

I've got an external hard drive with some files in it that I don't want other people to see. How is it possible to set a password to a folder so that I am the only person that can open that folder? If thats not possible, is it possible to set a password for the whole drive? ie the external HD is only accessible and its contents visible if a password is given when prompted?
    Thanks all.

Numerous ways. Put a period in front of the name, e.g., ".foldername" or ".filename" that makes them invisible. Just be sure you remember the names! Or you can use third-party software to make them invisible then visible when needed. Search for "hide folder" at VersionTracker or MacUpdate for listing of such utilities.

  • How can i set a password on my power off button so no frinds can shut it down whith just 2 presses

i want to set a password so when u click on the power button and then enter it wont shut down if u dont write in the password first. and the resson i want this is becasue som classmates turn it of during lessons and its anoying, i have seen one on the train on m y way to the school

If you enable fast user switching, and then login to two accounts, the casual user will find that shutting down requires the admin password.
However, the "non-casual" (saavy) user always has the ability to shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds. There is nothing that can prevent that. It is "hard-wired" as an ultimate shutdown safety.
