I can't share in iMovie 10?

I recently downloaded iMovie to my iMac. I successfully created a short 30 sec project video in iMovie 10 but I can't share. The share button is dead

Mackeeper is preventing it. You have to uninstall iMovie and reinstall through the purchased apps on appstore.
Worked for me (pain in rear though).

Buy a "silent" ringtone from the iTunes Store. Or, if you don't want to spend $1.29, you can make your own by recording a 30 seconds of silence then converting it to a ringtone. I believe should be able to do that with Garageband on your iPhone. Or, do it on your computer.

Can't share in iMovie "Video rendering error: 2"

Workoround - working in guest account. Copy the media to the share user folder and then on the guest desktop copy the media from the shared folder to the guest desktop folder. Start iMovie and begin your project on guest account.

I can't share with IMovie 11 !!!

I was having this problem with iMovie 10.0.1 running Mavericks
Had to trash the iMove app and very important "EMPTY THE TRASH". Then redownoad from the app store. If you don't empty the trash first, the download button in the app store will read Installed because it still sees it on your Mac. After I re downloaded iMovie everything worked like a champ and I have all the share options available.

Can't Share (export) iMovie 6 project to Canon HV20

I'm running iMovie 6.0.4 under Mac OS 10.5.1.
I keep encountering the same error when trying to export a completed iMovie project back to HDV tape. I select Share -> Video Camera but keep getting an error message saying "Cannot Export to Camera, Your FireWire camera is not powered on or is not available. This also can happen if you added or removed a device from FireWire. Please try again."
Needless to say I've tried, tried and tried again trying a variety of different connection and powering-up processes. The camcorder is also in the correct mode.
I have connected the camcorder before and been able to export completed iMovie projects. So I don't think it's a hardware issue or an incompatibility issue. The only thing I can possible think of is I might of been using 10.5 when I last successfully completed this process. I'm now using 10.5.1.
So I'm at a loss. Has anyone experienced this before or know of a work around? I guess for now I'm going to "Share to a file, for sending to a camera later" and hopefully be able to export the completed project to tape in the future.

I have the MacBookPro and Canon HV20. I use both iMovie08 and iMovie06HD. The 6HD allows me to (a) Produce a better quality DVD than the 08 does and (b) export the movie back to the MiniDV tape on my Canon HV20 camcorder. I use the DV-Firewire cable to connect the HV20 to MacBookPro. There is no problem when I transfer the movie from HV20 to MacBookPro, but I cannot transfer it from MacBookPro to HV20, no matter how many times I reload the 06HD. My camcorder is connected directly to the MacBookPro. Are you always able to transfer your movies from MacBookPro to your HV20? If yes, I will appreciate a step by step process you use. Thanks.

How can I share my iMovie projects in Mac with IOS devices?

I have a Mac when I develop my iMovie videos, and other IOS devices (iphone and Ipad), but to share my video projects, I need to do with iTunes and so.
Is there any other way to do it? with icloud?
It is complex for me to share / syncronice files (ibooks also) between apple devices.

I can't share my iMovie to my BUSINESS facebook page

I created a movie in iMovie 10.0.2 and was able to share it on my PERSONAL facebook page but was not given the option to post it to my BUSINESS page. When researching, I found that I have to share it to QuickTime and then upload it, but I don't have that option in the Share Menu in my version of iMovie.
I also tried to save it as a file, but when I tried to upload it onto facebook it gave me an error message that said it has to be smaller than 4MB or a supported formate like JPG, PNG, GIF or TIFF. I didn't see options, when sharing from iMovie to a file, of how to save.
Would love any help!

I have the updated Imovie. Im clicking share but nothing is popping up. I also went to file and share and nothing.

Do you by any chance have MacKeeper installed? It has been widely reported that MacKeeper is incompatible with iMovie 10 and inhibits the Share menu. See for example: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24066271#24066271

I can't share my iMovie '08 project with iDVD

I have created a project in iMovie '08 and want to burn it to DVD using iDVD.
The Apple Support (iMovie ’08: Burn your movie to DVD - Apple Support) says to go to the Share menu and choose Media Browser.
My version of iMovie does not show Share up at the top as in the illustration.
There is a Share under the File menu, but neither iDVD nor Media Browsers are options.
How do I get my project into Media Browser?

Can I share an iMovie event to Apple TV through theatre not via iCloud

I'd like to watch my events in iMovie on my Apple TV without having to turn them into movies first. I can do this if I upload the event clips to the cloud but that has limited space. My Apple TV and iMac are on the same wired Ethernet network. Why can't the theatre app in Apple TV see the theatre items on my imac without having to be uploaded to the cloud?

Hi, and firstly thanks for the reply... I think my TV back has different labeled areas, so I took a photo and posted -- I'm bad with the electronics terms and the translating of it all - ( I attached a pic) - I hope this helps with the photos you can also see where I have
thing plugged in - that one with svideo/rca cables is AV 3, where my DVRbox is going - the red/white cables on the right without a yellow go to my video 1 input on my receiver... the cables on the side are for my dvd player which the audio only works thru TV as well... then also below the red/white ones is HDMI3 where the apple tv is going... that's why i thought the stereo would work because its right below the cables that go to the stereo?

Why can't I share my iMovie?

I just made my first video. After awhile I realized I had run out of memory to edit footage. So, I just grabbed the video directly from my memory card. Now after days of work, I can't share it. It says, "This item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera."
Do I have to redit my whole movie again?????

I have the same problem with iMovie (10.02). It is iM11? Is it an upgrade? Not only do I not get the numbering system. Is the one that came out with the big iCloud rollout an "upgrade" or just different? I thought one of the foundation blocks of Apple was user-friendlyness. I consider myself be somewhat capable, tech-wise but I am baffled. I am now working with the previous version (which also is iMovie 11, I think) (9.09)

Can't share a video from imovie

I just finished a 6 min video in imovie that I want to share, but whatever "share" option I choose (youtube, vimeo, or even saving as a file) it fails. The error message I get is "video rendering error -50" . Does someone know what that means and most of all how I can finally share my project?

Ok i just posted this question too.. I am having the same problem.. I created a 19 minute video and got that same fail notification and so I created a smaller 5 minute one to see if that mattered and I got the same error message! HELP!

My advice, keep iDVD on your Apple Mac as it is a great software and let's hope Apple will introduce it again in imovie 10. Since you may have imovie 10.0 (2013) up-dated from imvovie 9.0 (which included iDVD for burning your home made films on imvoie 9.0,) you can proceed as follows to burn it on a DVD:
a) your film is completed on imovie 10.0. Under share transfer it to "Theatre" (default).
b) open iDVD and drag the film ex "Theatre" on the space "movie" of i.DVD.
c) Inser a DVD and clic on "burn"...
It worked for me.
