I can't show my video in itunes

Hi,
I have a windows 8. I download the last version of itunes (11.0.1.12). When I try to play a video via itunes, the program doesn't respond. The videos are in the right format since I can play them on my ipod.
Thanks for your help.

Download QuickTime. It wasn't included in the iTunes 11 download.

Try changing the cord. I could NOT get my computer to recognize my iPod 5th Gen until I read somewhere that different apple devices use different cords. I was inadvertently using my iPad cord and that caused my computer to not recognize my ipod.

  • Can TV show episodes downloaded from iTunes be converted?

Can TV show episodes downloaded from iTunes be converted for my non-ipod mp3 player? It's made by Creative Zen and does have a video converter to get files into the right format, but is there something about iTunes TV episodes and their encoding that would prevent this?

In answer to the 2nd part of your question, yes, the files are protected which make them only compatible with iPods, iPhones, etc.

Yes I mean 2 video side by side. How do I do that in iMovie 11?
    From iMovie Help:
    To add a side-by-side clip:
Make sure Advanced Tools are turned on.
Open the project you want to add the side-by-side clip to so that it’s showing in the Project browser.
In the Event browser, select a video clip or a frame range that you want to use as a side-by-side clip, and then drag it over a clip in your project. When you see the green Add symbol, release the mouse button.
In the contextual menu that appears, choose “Side by Side.”In the Project browser, the side-by-side clip appears with a blue border around it above the video clip you added it to, at roughly the spot where you added it (toward the beginning, middle, or end of the clip).
Depending on the length of the side-by-side clip you added, it may extend beyond the clip you added it to (only if there’s another clip after the clip you added the side-by-side clip to). You can drag the split-screen clip so that it begins at a different point in the main clip. To reposition where the split-screen clip appears in the project, drag it to a different clip.
Play back the effect by placing the playhead (the red vertical line) anywhere before the side-by-side clip in the Project browser, and then pressing the Space bar.Press the Space bar again to stop playback.

  • Can I save my videos of iTunes in TimeCapsule to watch it in AppleTV without my MacBook? Thanks

I have an AppleTV and I want to buy TimeCapsule 2TB or 3TB. But I have this question: Can I save my videos of iTunes in TimeCapsule to watch it in AppleTV without my MacBook? Thanks

You can change the location of your iTunes Media folder from your MacBook HD to your Time Capsule. This will work, but only if your iTunes library is open Apple TV can access your content over Home Sharing. Apple TV cannot play the videos stored on your Time Capsule without iTunes.
iTunes Match does what you want, only with music: Apple TV streams the song from iCloud without iTunes. Unfortunately videos and movies aren't part of the iCloud service.

  • Why can't i purchase videos in itunes?! is it a country/region restriction!?

why can't i purchase videos in itunes?! is it a country/region restriction!?

You can only purchase what the itunes store in your country sells.
The owners of the distribution rights of music/movies/etc. must allow itunes to sell their content.  Unless and until Apple is able to reach an agreement with these companies, then they will not be able to provide.

  • Can't Add Any Video To iTunes

I've read through every single thread on this topic, but cannot find a solution and could really use some help. I rebuilt my computer and everything is working great. Except, I cannot add a single video to itunes. I used to add and remove videos constantly and never really had an issue. I've tried mp4, mov, different sizes, etc. Nothing will ever show up.
Most of these threads end in 'they show up in Home Videos' which would be great, but I never even get the Home Videos section to show up. I've tried adding them to 'automatically add to itunes' folder with itunes closed. Once I open itunes, they go straight into the 'not added' folder.
Been at this for days now and am at a true loss. I have 12.1.1.4 on Windows 7 64-bit and Quicktime 7. Any thoughts?

Hi. You can try to remove iTunes and the following Units by successively.:Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
Also should pay attention to the authorize issue:iTunes 12 for Windows: Authorize a computer to play iTunes Store purchases

  • Can't find nano-video on iTunes.

I just picked up my new Nano. I shot one video. It shows up in the video section of my Nano, fine. But when I hook it up to iTunes, it's nowhere to be seen. I looked in the movies folder, and all the other folder, nothing.
The only way to get a hold to my video, to copy or delete, is to access the Nano on my desktop and go into the DCIM folder.
This can't be the only way to access you video. Why is there nothing in my iTunes? And can you delete the video on the Nano? I can't find the right place.
    thanks in advance - Otto.

Actually it is. iTunes does not list the videos that you take with your iPod. However, it can access music videos. If you would like this type of feature added, say so on the Product Feedback website.
And can you delete the video on the Nano? I can't find the right place.
Yes. Directions for doing so is in the iPod Nano 5th Gen. User Manual (direct PDF download)

  • 6Gnano shows some Video in iTunes's Capacity Bar

    Running iTunes 10.1.2 on a 8GB Gen6Nano,
    the Summary's "Capacity" bargraph shows:
    Capacity 7.35GB, Audio 3.2GB, Video 0.71GB, Photos 0.04GB, Other 0.13GB, Free 3.4GB
I have just a few photos, but Video???
Why would a 6G nano show any Video in there?

    Hello dtsssmudge,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you syncing any music videos or video podcasts to your iPod? I'm aware that the 6G Nano cannot play video, but you can still sync such items as music videos and video podcasts to it. Of course, it will not play the actual video but either of those items could account for that 0.71 GB of Video.
If nothing else, it might help to restore the iPod to factory settings to see if that does any good.

  • Can you still purchase videos with itunes 6??

Like everyone else I downloaded itunes7, at first I got all error messages, and missing files. I spent 3 hrs. on the phone with Apple technicians and they had me download itunes7 and quicktime separately. Now I can at least open itunes, but that is about it. Itunes played audio but no video, but I went in and disabled the 3D from my video, now the videos play but are fuzzy and freeze. I have a 60GB ipod which I am afraid to sync with my computer. Does that mean if connect my ipod to my computer for synching, that will screw up my ipod?? I tried to uninstall itunes7 and its components and load the itunes cd that came with my ipod itunes 6.01 but it wouldn't work. In my itunes library it doesn't list videos anymore. Only TV shows, music and podcasts? Where did the video listing go? My 60GB ipod was recently purchased with an extended warranty, do you think if I return it and purchase a 80GB with the itunes cd and install that, it might work better? Can you still purchase videos if I manage to somehow get back itunes6?? The Apple technician said they would get back to me but of course they haven't. One last thing, I can finally connect to the itunes store but when I preview a video it freezes.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
While I haven't tried, I would image the answer is no.
Usually when iPods are released with a new iTunes version, they aren't made to be/are made not to be compatible with previous iTunes versions.
It may work, but I can't be sure either way (someone else may have tested this).
In the past, even if iTunes updated the iPod, there tended to be problems syncing.

  • Can't transfer any videos to iTunes!

I just got a new iPod, as I used to own one around a year ago. However, when I try to drag a video file into iTunes, it never adds them to the library. Nor does it add them if I manually select 'add to library' and find the file. I've tried loads of different formats, including the sample file in the FAQ from Apple, yet iTunes simply doesn't copy anything to the library!
What is going on? It's just impossible to transfer any of my current videos to iTunes.

    Hi guys
I had the same problem - my husband bought a 30GB iPod the other day and we were having the exact same problem, but we've managed to fix it for us. Here's what we did:
    1. Went to software update (under the little apple on the bar at the top) and downloaded the huge Mac 10.4.9 update (it was about 350MB!).
    2. Downloaded the latest version of Quicktime and installed it. Note: you can't install the latest version of quicktime unless you've installed the 10.4.9 update. It won't let you.
    3. Drag the movie into iTunes from the Finder, and it should take a few seconds to register that you wanted to add it and a minute or so to import. This is not the end, however.
    4. Make sure the movie/s you want to transfer to your iPod are selected, go to the 'Advanced' menu, and then 'Convert selection for iPod' (or something like that). This will take a very long time. It took nearly an hour for each 42 minute movie/tv show we added. You can do as many as you like at a time, but make sure the HDD doesn't go to sleep. Even though the website said that the iPods will play the mp4 format, the iPod wouldn't accept it (it converted them to m4v format). They will duplicate in your iTunes folder, annoyingly enough, so it does take up twice the space.
If you use a program called HandBrake to rip movies from DVDs, then it has the feature that converts it automatically to iPod format, but obviously this doesn't play on all computers. But I am not advocating piracy; we had some movie projects we'd deleted from the HDD on a DVD we ripped.
And that's it. That's all we did, and it worked fine. YAY! My husband was extremely pleased, as you can imagine.
We had the latest version of iTunes aswell.
So hopefully this should work for you! If it doesn't, I'm sorry.

  • Changed countries, but I still can't music and videos from iTunes. Help!

I moved from Jamaica to Canada. I changed all of the account information and added a new credit card. My problem now is that iTunes itself won't update on my iPad. I don't have the option to purchase music or videos. I can still only access Podcasts and iTunes U, as those were only available in Jamaica.
How can I get the other options available? Please help. I wanna rock!

Go to iTunes and tap on the Music tab. Swipe down to the bottom left corner of that screen and you can access your ID. Tap on it and then tap View Apple ID. Enter your password. Then go down to County/Region and change that to Canada and then save the changes.
Hopefull that will work and you will be able to "rock".

  • Can't dowload music video from iTunes

    Hoping someone can help me.
I tried downloading a music video from iTunes. I purchased the video, it started downloading and right at the end I got the following message and iTunes just shut down.
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close...Please tell Microsoft about this problem..."
An option to send an error report was also given.
There is no record that I purchased the video, but yet when I tried to buy the music video again, i got a message saying that had I already purchased it, but i can't find it anywhere in iTunes or in any of my folders in my computer.
Hope someone can help me out!

    Hmm. It should.
Here's the main Download support page. There is a form at the bottom if nothing there helps. It may take a while to get a response. Some weeks they get absolutely swamped.

  • I can't get my videos onto itunes

I have some music fan made music videos i got from a webcite downloaded on to my computer's hardrive, but when I try to add them to itunes nothing happens, and on those rare occasions that someting does happen i get an error messege: 2048 it says that it is not a video file. I think mabey it has to do with the files being a windows media player. Is there any way to fix this so i can get them on itunes then to my 60 gig video ipod?

    Ok here it goes...
you have to ways of getting videos into your ipod (itunes): you can buy them on the itunes music store, which would then play perfectly on the ipod or you can convert videos that you may have.
This forum is not for that. If you do not know how to convert videos, then either investigate how to do that or stick with the videos that you get from itunes.
As you said.. all that avi and avc is just too deep for you... therefore stick with the easy choice... get your videos from itunes.
You can also try videora ipod converter (http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/), but then again if you have quesitons on how to use it, please go to their forums...since thats were you should get support for that software.
