  • I can't sign in into Skype

My laptop recently broke so I had to switch to my old PC but I can't sign in into Skype. I changed my password and I can sign in just fine on my tablet. My internet connection is working normally. Tried installing some older versions but it didn't help. I have the same OS (Windows XP) on my PC as I had on my laptop.
When I try signing in with my microsoft account I get an error saying 'Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.' and when I try signing in with my skype name it says my details weren't recognized. (I usually have problems singing in with my skype name everywhere - my tablet or the skype website, but my microsoft account works just fine on those)
I wonder if anyone can help me with this? It's really inconvenient to do not be able to use Skype on my PC.

Try to reset all Internet Explorer settings:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
    Next reset LAN settings:
Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
Next clear all Temporary Internet Files:
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.

  • Can sign in with Microsoft Account but can't sign in using Skype Name on the website or desktop app.

I can sign in using my microsoft account, but I can't sign in using my SKYPE namehow to solve this? and why this is happeneing?when i ask for password reset, it actually reseted my microsfot account password, not my skype password, gave me real hard time signing in to my email account thinking it was still with my old passwordplease i want my skype name back. I don't want to use my microsoft account to sign inany help from anbybody?

I followed the link, tried to reset my password by requesting forgot my password providing my email address the one is linked to that account, and said a link been emailed to my inbox. checked my inbox there was nothing in there, waited for hours, nothing in there, the next day I found an email with a link to reset your password, I clicked it, it says "sorry the link has expired" it seems to be a timed link. I don't know why it took too long to receive the email, I thought it should be instantaneously. but it didn't happen that way. so I didn't try another attempt till I ask for why it happened?
this is my update for today

Well, I downloaded the newest version of Skype, and now nothing will work at all. I can't sign into it, and haven't been able to for about four or five days now. I have followed all of the suggestions I understood, and compeltely uninstalled and reinstalled Skype at least three times, and I'm just not sure what else to do.  Every time I try to sign in, a little spinny circle shows up on the login window, as if it's loading, does that for about three minutes, then tells me it cannot connect. Any suggestions? What Firewall and Antivirus applications are installed on your computer?

You can try  this, but eventually it might be necessary to uninstall IE10 and reinstall IE9. Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'. In the Command Prompt type:  cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter. Next type this and then press Enter: regsvr32  jscript.dll Next type this and press Enter: regsvr32  jscript9.dll After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded. Reboot your computer. Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript. Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE 32-bit version) this page: http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

  • Can't sign in into skype after sign out

hi! i need help this past two days suddenly my skype went to log.out and im trying to sign in, it says that my skype account is already sign in on this computer, in order to sign in i have to sign out my skype first.. how???? i try to uninstall and install again..still same..
"WE CANT OPEN SKYPE, YOU ARE ALREADY SIGN IN ON THIS COMPUTER. PLEASE SIGN oUT AND TRY TO SIGN IN AGAIN" how can i do that if i cant acces on my skype??? please help me.. im using windos 8..

Try to reset all Skype settings:
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Can't sign in into skype after signing out of emai...

I am writing this for a friend who is running Windows7, and has the latest version of Skype.
After he has checked his email, whether it is hotmail (outlook) or bigpond, he is unable to sign into Skype. The circle in the centre of Skype just keeps spinning and will not sign in.
If he tries to sign into Skype before using his email clients he is able to sign in straight away.
Also if he shuts down his computer after reading email and then restarts, he can sign in with no problem.
Has anyone any idea why this is happening?
    Thank you in advance.

i have avast and use windows firewall. i have uninstalled avast then tried signing into the skype app and still stuck on the sign in screen
I was even on customer support chat and gave her permission to remotely access my comp. She worked on it for over an hour and I still get stuck on the blue signing in screen. Y'all seriously have some work to do with this app. A few of my friends are having the same issues also, so now I know for a fact it is not something to do with my comp, antivirus or firewall settengs. I have unistalled and reinstalled Skype 6 times already. Now I know why I used Yahoo messenger for so long. I never had any issues with it.
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and then try to start Skype.

Thanks, g4pilut. But I've downloaded the Skype Beta, and when I open it, the window only shows the background: the clouds, the star, the green rainbow and the blue sky, but there is no option to log in, to enter my username... And it is really urgent that I log in.
Is there any way to contact Skype Support? I didn't manage to find it.
    Thanks again.
The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript. The new login screen, introduced with Skype 5.5 version, is not working on computers where Internet Explorer and javaScript are not functioning properly. This procedure will enable the old login screen, which does not require Internet Explorer:
Quit Skype. Make sure that you don’t see any Skype.exe processes in Windows Task Manager. If necessary, then stop these processes. Open C:\Program Files\ folder. If you have 64-bit Windows then it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. Find the Skype folder and then Phone. Right click on the Skype.exe file and select: Send to – Desktop (create shortcut). Right click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties and then the Shortcut tab. In the Target field you will see now: "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" (or with (x86) if you are on 64-bit Windows). Click with your mouse on the text in the Target field and move your curser one space after the last quotation sign and add the text /legacylogin. The text in the Target field should now read:
    "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /legacylogin
Click OK to save the changes. Start Skype using this new shortcut. Can you now login to Skype?
Note, that this is a temporary solution only, because some other options, as e.g. Add a contact, may still not be working in Skype.

  • I can't sign in onto Skype on Windows 8.1

So I recently got a Windows 8.1 computer, so I decided to use Skype, however I used the "app version" of it, and did the process needed (e.g Link microsoft account with skype account etc) however personally, I found the app version quite confusing and it lacked the group call option, which I use often. So then I decided to to download the Desktop version of Skype, so I did so, and signed in; however it didn't seem to work and it would give me the "loading white circle". So I thought it has something do to with the app version, so I deleted it. (and I was still signed in at the time, if that helps). However, I was still presented with the loading white circle. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Desktop version and even downloading older versions of the program.
So I thought I should sign in with my Microsoft account, since I did link up with it. However, it presents be with "Sometimes the internet gets a bit sleeping and takes a nap. Make sure it's up and running again then we'll give it another go." Which was strange, since I was indeed contected to the internet.
So, I also deciced to unlink my Microsoft and Skype account by using my old computer and then signing in, but that failed as well.
So, I'm kind of stumpted on what to do at this moment.

  • I'm connected to the Internet but I can't sign in on Skype or play online games?!

My parents changed the channel for the BT home hub and I am online the wifi config is all green but I can't play online game or Skype as it says I'm offline?! I have gone on advanced settings and updated my mac and restarted it but still no working but it works fine on my phone! HELP!

Am a newbie but somethings may work here, Go to dock preferences and to network and to your airport connection window.
You have a green light signal in network status window? If it is yellow or red it is unavailable. If your connection is full of traffic, this may effect connection.
In window you may need to type in optional search domains. Your provider should tell you this no one else~ They would also walk you through your connection failures. If it is yellow and you connect to your provider's router and don't have your own router, this number may not appear in your connection information. You need to tell them their router is down so they can fix it. They may not find out if pings come back. Pings may also be cached (I am not sure but it might) so it may take them a while to find out if you don't tell them. I would call your provider. Maybe empty your preferences in your browser. You may have cookies or garbage to empty there. Use another browser.

  • Can't Sign In to Skype, Endless Loading Circle

Skype is not working at all for me on Windows 10. I've tried installing updates, uninstalling and reinstalling Skype completely, as well as restarting my PC. When I start the application, it just stays on the blue screen with the word Skype and the spinning dots loading animation. There's no sign in prompt or anything, so I'm assuming it's remembering my user name and password, but the bottom line is that it's not working at all. Please help?

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.
