I can't sync apps with new iMac.

On all the other sections, like music, there's a sync box I can check or uncheck.  For some reason on apps there's no box I can check.  My iPhone shows it's still syncing with my old computer.  Anyone know how to fix that?

I fixed it!! I just had to authorize the new computer hihi

  • My imac itunes does not show devices so I can't sync apps with my ipad2. my imac is new.Help!

i have a new imac and ipad2.  i downloaded apps from the itunes appstore to my imac.  but i cant sync with the ipad2.  i don't see "devices" in itunes.  am i doing something wrong?  i have connected the imac to the ipad2 using the usb connector that was attached to the charger.  thanks!

No, unfortunately, when you format a drive, it will erase all the contents. So you will need to find a temporary "storage" place to put the stuff using a PC so you have access to it. Then reformat using Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities). If only using with mac, format Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and use GUID Partition scheme under Partitions/Options. After formatting, you can drag the files back.

  • Syncing IPodTouch with new iMac

I have had an iPod Touch for about a month and a week ago I got a new iMac. Without thinking I synced it with the new machine and things began to happen. I lost my upgrade, but have got it back thanks to Apple Care help. I do not have all my photos and some music. Many of my songs won't come over. Same with photos. If anyone has a suggestion, I would be very thankful. It synced just great on the g4 power book. I think therein lies the rub, but don't know what to do about it.

Only using third party software can you transfer photos, videos and music off an iPod (the exception to this rule is iTunes Store purchased content). I recommend that you use Firewire Target Disk Mode to migrate your iPhoto and iTunes libraries from your older Powerbook to the new iMac:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
Remember to consolidate the iTunes library before copying it.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can I sync music with my iMac iTunes AND calendar+address book with my PC?

I use my iMac at home and a PC in the office. I therefore store all my appointments and contacts in the Microsoft Outlook in my PC. I've already sync my new iPod Touch with my iMac at home and wonder whether I can plug it to the PC to sync just the Outlook appointments and contacts.

After my previous post from work I came home and did a sync here but with contacts & appointments disabled and it worked. I now have seperate types of items sync'ed on different computers!
I now plan to manage my music manually and rip some CDs on my much faster work computer and only 'sync' my Outlook info.
Hope this is the answer for you!

  • Sync iPad with new iMac

i just bought a brand new imac and i connected my ipad thinking i could easily sync my whole itunes library over.  My actual itunes library is stored on my PC at work.  When i connected it, it said it would erase everything on th ipad and sync from itunes library on the mac (of which there isn't one yet).  I'm confused.  Honestly I thought this would be a snap for such highly intelligent products.

Your iTunes library is stored locally on your computer. It is not stored by Apple/iTunes on a server somewhere so that your iTunes on a new computer recognizes that library and sync with it. You said it yourself that your iTunes library is on a PC at work.
You will have to copy that library to the new iMac and then iTunes on the Mac will recognize the iPad and sync accordingly. This kb article from Apple explains a number of ways that you can do this. Included in this article is the transfer purchases feature which you can do from the iPad to the new Mac, but it will only copy purchased content into the new iTunes library. The link is actually at the bottom of this post. The Atomic browser is giving me fits today.

  • Can't access App Store, new iMac right out of box

I hate to start another one of these threads but the only thing I've done since initially booting my Mac was try to access the App Store to download Xcode. Nothing has been installed. I can get to the Internet through our guest wireless. Everything is brand new straight from Apple as of today. No antivirus. We've tried making sure the class 3 public certificates are operating by first trying to set them to "trust always" then followed another threads instructions to get them set back to autos elect. Nothing. There's nothing on the computer, (other than mountain lion and ilife i think) so there's no danger of deleting any data, but we have no discs to do any kind of repair with. Help!

    Ken ...
    Congrats on your new iMac!
Check GateKeeper for downloading apps from the App Store.
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click System Preferences.
Then select Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select:  Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is greyed out, click the padlock icon bottom left corner of the window. You may be prompted for the admin password to make changes.
Restart your iMac and try downloading Xcode.
    OS X: About Gatekeeper
but we have no discs to do any kind of repair with
New Macs no longer come with install discs. If it's necessary to reinstall OS X, repair the startup disk, or reformat, that must be done over the internet. Apple strongly recommends a broadband high speed connection.

  • Can't sync iPhone to new iMac

I follow all the knowledgebase advice: I've authorized iTunes on the new iMac, I've unchecked 'auto sync' in Preferences. I connect my iPhone directly to the computer via USB. I right click on the device and select 'Transfer Purchases', iTunes gets to the 'Transferring Purchases from iPhone "x" Waiting for changes to be applied' and then hangs. I've even tried 'erase and replace', and again it hangs. I'm stuck. What do I do?

I can't sync my iPad either. Help!

  • How can i sync reminders with my iMac and I phone?

Just updates to iOS 5 reminders look useful but how can I sync it between all my devices?  I am still on mobile me.

I would also like to know if this is possible.  I have been using Wunderlist because it syncs over all devices, including iMac and Macbook.  Will there be a "Reminders" app for iMac available at some point in the future?

  • Can't sync apps with itunes

I've having issues syncing my newly purchased apps with iTunes now and it says that my device has not been authorized with this computer. This is not the case, I've been syncing to the same computer and it has been authorized for years. I'm thinking this might be an update issue because everything has been working fine right up to when I did my upgrade of the iOS last week. This was the first time I actually plugged my iPhone into my computer since the upgrade. Things seem to go fine except when it tried to sync my apps and it then gave me the warning that my iPhone was not authorized to transfer the apps to iTunes. I went in to authorize the device in iTunes and it says my iPhone is authorized. So now I have an app I can't transfer to my computer and I suspect that if I had also purchased music, this would also not transfer.
Something is up. I don't think they have all the bugs worked out on the iOS5 update and iTunes. So, anyone having the same issue since the upgrade and/or anyone have a solution?

Try deauthorizing the phone in itunes then reauthorize it.

  • TS4062 Can't sync wirelessly with new iPhone

I've done all seven steps here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4062?viewlocale=en_US. I have an iPod, iPad, and iPhone 4. All were syncing wirelessly. I upgraded the iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5. The new iPhone won't sync wirelessly. The iPad and iPod still sync fine. On the iPhone, the "Sync Now" button is greyed out. I have iOS 6.0.2, iTunes 11.0.1, and Mac OS X 10.7.5.
Why does this have to be such a pain?

Ever since the new version of itunes came out, I can't sync my ipod with it. I have Windows 7 and an ipod nano.
Doublechecking ... do you have the new 10.6.1.7 version (released yesterday, NZ Time)?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • Can't sync iPhone with New PC - Music is Stuck

Hi, I've been syncing my iPhone with my PC for years but just had to get a new computer. I transfered all my music and everything to the new PC but when I connect my iPhone and click on the playlists, it shows everything greyed out and I can't do anything. How do I sync with the new PC? All I really want to do is add more music. Thank you!

    Anybody?

  • Can't sync music with new iPod Touch. Help!

I recently received a new iPod Touch for Christmas. However, last night, my moniter on my computer stopped working. So, until I was able to purchase a new one, I simply hooked up and old moniter to my hard drive so I could use my computer.
This moniter is very old, and considerably smaller than my other one, but I thought that it would work just fine. But today, I went to register my new ipod, and the registration screen on itunes was way too small. I could only see about three fourths of the page. I was unable to see and press certain buttons that I would need to in order to register my ipod and sync my music.
So, I went on the iTunes website and went ahead and registered my ipod there. Now, when I plugged in my ipod again, it was still asking me to register it on itunes, but I can't because of my screen. and I can't scroll left or right, because there isn't even a scroll bar.
My ipod is already registered, but now, does anyone know how I can skip the itunes registering process so I can just go ahead and get my music?
    Thanks!

Yes, I did that. But my screen is too small, so when it comes to the Terms and Conditions page, the only options I can see are Cancel and Save.
I already registered the iPod on the iTunes website. Can I go ahead and sync my music now? Or must I go through a registration process on the iTunes program in order to get my music?

  • Itunes can not sync apps with the iphone [name], because it can not determine which apps are installed on the iphone.

After installing the latest Version of iTunes (10.5.1.42) on my Windows XPs PC it's not possible to sync my iPhone 3GS (not iOS 5!) any more - I get the error message above. It's possible to download music, apps, podcasts - but not possible to sync with my iPhone..
    Any Ideas?

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore.  Have the first two been tried?
How about simply unplugging the iPhone and plugging it back in to sync?
What has been done in an attempt to troubleshoot the issue?

  • Can't sync iPhone with new MacPro, won't erase old stuff

I'm switching from my MacBookPro to a new MacPro. My iPhone 5s will not sync with the new computer. It gave me the warning about erasing the old stuff, but it never does. After trying about 10 times it finally asked if I trusted the computer, I said yes, but it never asked me that on the computer. It should have asked me that right off.
My library lives on the same external hard drive as it did before.
I had this problem with my old iPad mini and I had to erase the iPad every time I wanted to add videos.
The graph that shows capacity at the bottom of the iTunes window, changes back and forth between How it is now and then to the changes I make then back.
    Any ideas?
    thanks
    Ron

I changed it to manuel sync and it worked. I thought I tried that before, but I quess not.
    thanks
    Ron
