I can't sync my contacts to my mac (BB 9900, OSX Lion, Latest desktop software for mac installed)

Hi, I have a new blackberry bold 9900, the latest operating system for Apple (OSX Lion), the latest update on my desktop software and the latest update on my BB. However, I am only able to sync 37 of my contacts to Address Book on my mac, and I want to sync all 250+. I am not sure why this is.
Also for some reason, my new contacts are being saved to my googlemail contact list, although i have never specified this. Is there a way to stop this, and is there a way to change the contacts that are already saved on my googlemail list to my Desktop list?
thank you for your help in advance....

Hey All,
DBJohnson - The Forget Device option removes all the synchronization history that is associated with that BlackBerry so if there was a corruption in the synchronization folder it would be cleared and fixed.
rubenmarcano - How many contacts are setup on the Mac Address Book?  Do you 2 different Address Books on the BlackBerry?  To find this information, go into Contacts on the BlackBerry and press the menu key and select Options and it will list 2 Contact lists.  IF there is 2, that can cause the problem since BlackBerry Desktop Software will only synchronize with 1 contact list.  I look forward to your reply.
Joycetz - Did you sync not work from BlackBerry to Mac or vice versa?  Also are you using Outlook or Mac Address Book or Entourage?

    Hi dimitrisuk,
    Welcome to the support community!
Can you please verify that your synchronization settings have already been configured? This article should provide more information. "Unable to configure sync or click the sync icon due to the icons being greyed out in BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac" KB26367
This link to the user guide provides the steps to verify that your synchronization settings have been configured. http://blck.by/14BZb5q

  • Sync problem with Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac

Can someone help. I have synchronization problem with my contact in the Outlook for Mac using blackberry desktop software for mac. Seems all details in my blackberry handheld contact got synchronized, but not email addresses (so all names, jobs, companies, work phone, mobile - all got synchronized, but not email addresses). All data is in my handheld. I wish I could just "replace" (not merge/sync) outlook contact with all contact in the handheld but seems there is no option to do that. Let me know please if someone has similar experience and has found out solution. Thanks!

  • Desktop Software for MAC allows only two way sync

    hi...
I want help with the Blackberry desktop software for MAc. I am able to synce my phone, however there is no way in which I can do a one-way sync  - replacing all the data on the mac with the data of the phone...
please let me kniw if there is any way of doing that
    thanks

Isn't it simply because of the known problem with iCloud sync enabled?
This operation makes the address book and calendar(s) invisible to BBDM as the data files are "removed" from the Mac and put "in the cloud"...
Several posts are documenting the problem and suggest some alternatives or work around (by disabling iCloud).
Look on the forum for additional details.

  • Using Desktop Software for Mac with an 8703e - Can it be done?

I downloaded the new BB desktop software for Mac but it doesn't seem to work with my 8703e device.  And since I had to erase the PocketMac software to install the new BB software, I now have no way to synch my Mac and BB.  Can anyone shed any light on this?

You might check out the FileBrowser app on iTunes. I haven't used it, but it sounds like what you're after. When you say you can't use the Sierra iG2 with your iPad, I'm assuming you mean you can't plug it into the iPad. If it's plugged into a laptop and offering a WiFi hotspot, the iPad should be good with that. I use the Apple Camera Connection Kit to carry extra movies on an SD card. It uploads only to the Photos app, so no books, etc.

  • Desktop Software for Mac Lion OSX Doesn't Show or Sync any Contacts

    Hi there,
I am a brand new Blackberry user and so far am VERY frustrated. I also own an iPhone and love the thing because it just WORKS. Anyways, I downloaded the Desktop Software so I can sync my Mac Address Book with my Blackberry Curve 9360. Souldn't the software give me a choice of where I would like to sync my contacts from? It doesn't. And it just shows a blank empty list. I read another topic on here that iCloud needs to be disabled. I'm not sure how exactly to disable it but believe I did. But it still shows a blank list. Besides, iCloud is very handy and why would I want to turn it off. Shouldn't BLACKBERRY fix this problem so it works? I am not happy and if this doesn't get resolved in the next 24 hours, I will be returning to Rogers and sending this phone back and will NEVER return to RIM again. No wonder the stocks are plumiting. PLEASE HELP ME! I'm a tech savy guy and even I can't figure out how to get my contacts onto my Blackberry without doing it manually (which isn't going to happen).

  • Desktop manager for Mac not syncing with iMac

Tried this earlier in the year and lost all contacts out of my Blackberry Tour. Tried again today and DM for Mac doesn't recognize any of the iCal calendars I have on the iMac and gives me a sync error when trying to sync Addressbook.
Running OS 10.5.8 on iMac; v5.0.0.732 on Tour.

    Hey scoopmassad,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Can you clarify what the error message is that you're receiving?
Also what version of BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac are you currently using?  To download the latest software go to: www.blackberry.com/desktop
Also have you tried to Forget Device and then re-setup the synchronization with the BlackBerry.  Go to Device>Forget Device at the top of BlackBerry Desktop Software.
I look forward to your reply.

  • Cannot sync - BB8900 with BB Desktop Manager for Mac

After first downloading Desktop Manager, I was able to sync with my 8900 once.  Now, every time I connect the device (via USB), Desktop Manager opens, attempts to connect to the device, and fails.  Status of the device shows at 'not connected'.
I've followed the sync services set up for Entourage and Mac. I've also uninstalled Desktop Manager and reinstalled, but it didn't resolve it.  I've disabled my password protection from the 8900 as well, and that hasn't worked.
I used PocketMac before, and while there were some issues with data loss and overlap, it worked most of the time.  I have uninstalled PocketMac at this point.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey Maarten08 and autoca,
I would suggest doing the following:
Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, restart the computer.
    Then perform the following:
On the Mac computer, navigate to Macintosh HD >
    System > Library >
    Extensions.
    Locate the BlackBerryUSB.kext and
    BlackBerryUSBDev.kext files.
Move these two files to the Trash.
    Empty the Trash.
    Restart the Mac computer.
Then go to www.blackberry.com/desktop to re-download BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.
Install and then hook up the BlackBerry and make sure you have mass storage mode enabled.
For information on how to enable mass storage mode: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB13564

How can I sync the contacts in my phone with those on my MacBook Pro? I already have an iCloud account, and everything else (calendars, music, etc.I is already synched) but the contacts won't.

    Ok.
Open System Preferences, Apple Logo icon in the menu bar and then System Preferences or the Sys Pref iocon in the Dock and go to the Internet Accounts area and look at your iCloud account. It should list what is and isn't synced by a checkmark next to each item.
Also in the Contacts app click on Contacts in the menu bar and select Preferences then accounts and make sure your iCloud account is listed. You can also do that from the Internet Accounts area in System Preferences.

Sync your iPad with computer iTunes.
Note: your contacts should be in computer Outlook (Windows) or Contacts (Mac) application.
If you have iCloud configured in iPhone, do the same for iPad.
    Setttings > iCloud >
         Account: your Apple ID
         Contacts: ON
         Documents & Data: ON

Go to iCloud in System Preferences and make sure the appropriate box is checked. You also need to be signed in.

Not being a Mac user, I cannot be sure, but with Windows, you make a setting to sync iCloud and other Windows contacts. There is probably a setting you need to make on the Mac.

Usually, where there are issues like that, it has to do with incompatible programs that may be loaded at system startup. So, in System Preferences, look at your login ID, and login items, and see if any programs listed there should be updated to run with Snow Leopard. While in System Preferences, look at the bottom of the window where you may find some programs listed also. Check them too.
On your scanner, HP changed the way the scanners work under Snow Leopard. See this HP document: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01846935&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &os=219&product=3739150&sw_lang=#N377 . Scroll down and click the scanning twistie.
