The -50 error is documented in this article:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    Here is a synopsis:
    Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)
These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

  • Can I sync my iPhone 3GS with iTunes on two separate computers?

I have a PC desktop with iTunes set up and have already done a sync with my iPhone 3GS (IOS 4.2.1).  I recently acquired a PC laptop (Windows 7).  Is there a way I can sync the content (contacts, calendar, photos - no tunes) with iTunes on the new laptop (while maintaining the iTunes on the desktop)?

Yes, you can do this, but be sure to uncheck iTunes content syncing on the other computer. Each sync item can be synced with only one computer.

  • Bought a new PC with windows7 now I can't sync my iphone 3GS?

I purchased a new PC with windows7 and now my iphone 3gs will not sync previously purchased apps.  It keeps asking me to authorize this computer and when I enter my password another screen appears saying that this computer is already authorized but when I click OK then the previous screen appears wanting me to authorize this computer and it continues ad infinitum.  I tried reinstalling itunes and I went into the menu and authorized the computer again.  Nothing helps.  What can I do to get this phone to sync with my new computer?

You need to move iTunes Folder(Library)/Media files from your old computer where your Device used to sync with over to the new one.
    Refer to these articles:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

  • Can you sync and iPhone 3GS with two computers?

    Hi all,
I have itunes on 2 different computers - one on a desktop which is the home's media pc and has all the music and films on it.
I also have it on my laptop and this is the machine my iPhone currently syncs with as it hold my contacts, calendar, apps, ringtones etc.
Is there any way that I can put some of my music on my iPhone without physically having to copy the tracks to the hard drive of my laptop?
I've tried this (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202) and it doesn't seem to work.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

It doesn't work, as that article says:
"iPod shuffle and iPhone are intended for use with a single computer. You cannot load music from multiple computers or iTunes libraries onto iPod shuffle and iPhone like you can with other devices."
There is no way to put media content from more than one computer onto an iPhone. You will indeed need to get all the tracks onto whichever computer you wish to have be your primary connection to your iPhone.
    Regards.

  • Can you sync from iPhone to PC?

Can you sync from iPhone 3GS to PC, instead of the other way 'round?

The syncing of iTunes content is a one way transfer process only - from iTunes on your computer, or from your iPhone to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after purchasing/downloading music, video, or 3rd party apps with your iPhone.
iTunes content is not kept synchronized but is part of the iTunes sync/transfer process. Photos transferred from your compute to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process are not kept synchronized either. The transfer of photos is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone.
The only bi-directional or true sync process is for contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on your computer. The same for notes if you are using a supported application on your computer for syncing notes.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first. You can sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data that you will need or want to access on your new computer such as photos, documents, etc. All iTunes content is stored in an iTunes named folder. With iTunes quit on your new computer, place the copy of the iTunes named folder from your old computer in the appropriate location for access by iTunes on your new computer. You will also need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only. First you need to authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device or as a storage device to transfer data from one computer to another.

  • I can't keep my iphone 3gs paired with Lincoln Sync.  It seems to lose it when I shut my phone off at night.

I can't keep my iphone 3gs paired with Lincold Sync after upragding the IOS to 5.  It seems to lose the pairing if I turn my phone off.  Help!!

The message I have on the itunes wi-fi sync screen is "sync will resume when "computer name" is available.  I know the computer is available because I am working on it and even opened iTunes.  In addition, I verified the computer name was the correct computer name on this computer. So.... what would make it "not available"?

  • When i sync my iphone 3gs, my itunes hangs up after itunes sync the apps, so i can't pup music on my divice

When i sync my iphone 3gs, my iTunes hangs up after iTunes sync the apps, so i can't put music or videos etc. on my divice...
    Why is that so

Check the General -> Restrictions settings and see if perhaps the iTunes app is turned off there. If not, the app may have been inadvertently moved to another home screen or dropped into a folder. Do a search for the app or try resetting the Home screen layout: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
    Regards.

  • Reverse syncing from iPhone 3GS to iPhoto?

I sync my iPhone to my MacBook with iPhoto 2009. I have no problems.
Now the Mrs. wants to sync her iPhone 3GS to my MacBook.
    Here's my question:
She already has a bunch of photo albums and video albums on her iPhone. They are NOT in the cameral roll, but are in various albums under "Photos" from when we synced her iPhone on her POS Windows Craptastic laptop.
When I go to sync her phone to iPhoto 2009 via the MacBook's iTunes, a message comes up warning that syncing would delete the photos on her iPhone and replace them with photos from iPhoto.
I want to keep the photos she has on her iPhone, preferably syncing them across into iPhoto on the MacBook. I'm afraid that if I sync her phone and photos to the MacBook, I will lose forever that which is already on her iPhone.
    Any ideas please?

The sync process for photos from your computer to your iPhone is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as part of the iTunes transfer process, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported (the original resolution is reduced), which should remain on the computer used for transferring the photos from. Photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring photos from another computer, all photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
The iPhone does not support disk mode. It can't be used as an external flash drive for transferring data from one computer to another.
Your Mrs. needs to transfer the photos from her PC to your Mac importing the photos into iPhoto. This can be done with an external hard drive or with a USB Flash drive or pen.
