I can't sync my iphone on my itunes. It says to authorize my computer, and it just stays loading. It does not respond back to me.. Help please!

My itunes is just on "authorizing computer." I left it on for an hour and it just still loads. It shouldn't take this long.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Contacts (Address Book).    (25)
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
Contact syncing is nothing to do with iCloud back up, the only settings you should be concerned with on the device are at settings > iCloud page.

  • If i sync my iPhone with another iTunes will i loose all my apps and photos?

If i sync my iPhone with another iTunes will i loose all my apps and photos?

All iTunes content on your iPhone will be removed first.
Unless you transfer photos from another computer when doing so, the photos transferred from the other computer will not be touched.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not part of and not touched with the iTunes sync process.

  • Can't get Netflix to recognize an iTunes purchase keeps coming us with "the credit card information that you entered does not appear to be valid

Can't get Netflix to recognize an iTunes purchase keeps coming us with "the credit card information that you entered does not appear to be valid'? Netflix says not them?

The message you received indicates that the phone is locked to a carrier other than the one for which you have a SIM. You'll need to take the issue up with Apple. Nothing you do with iTunes is going to make a difference.
I'm quite surprised that the UK Apple Store replaced a U.S. purchased phone. They usually won't.
    Best of luck.

Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
    Disable anti virus software.
Make sure your Mac meets Mountain Lion requirements > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Can I sync 2 iPhones to one itunes account but have seperate yahoo contacts

We have 2 iPhones and want to be able to share the same itunes account which doesn't seem to be a problem. However we can't seem to have separate yahoo contacts synced with the two separate phones. It wants to keep putting my wife's contacts on my phone or vice a versa. Now our Yahoo contacts are all mucked up. Any help would be appreciated. I can't believe we can't do this.

You can sync many devices to one itunes account. I, for instance, have two ipods and an iphone on one account. They all have different setting and contents, but still only sync to one itunes account.
Yes you and your wife can use one itunes account.

  • How can I sync multiple iPhones with 1 iTune

    Hi,
I would like to know how and limitation of syncing more than 1 iPhone with 1 iTune software in same computer.
    Thanks.

The only difference I can think of adding is that if you want to use the 1 computer with multiple iPhones but want EACH iPhone to sync different information would be best if each iPhone user syncing had their own User Profile for the computer.
Other than that, basically yeah. No real limitation to the # of iOS Devices connected to 1 computer

  • How can I sync 2 iPhones w/ 1 iTunes account separately?

I have 2 iPhones, 1 iTunes account (on one computer). I want the phones to sync separately - I don't want shared contacts, notes, calendars... nothing. I have separate playlists for music on the phones, which is working fine. Every time I sync contacts get screwd up or notes get deleted or iBooks or notes get copied from one phone to the other. I've tried many settings trying to stop this. I do NOT want a separate login for each phone.
What are the right settings (or is the correct way) to sync 2 iPhones without copying or deleteing info from one or the other?

An iTunes account is used for purchasing.

Nothing gets copied from one iPhone to the other.
Everything gets copied from iTunes/computer to iPhone.
Select the iPhone iTunes, click the tabs across top and select what you want to sync.
I do NOT want a separate login for each phone.
Then you are not going to be able to always sync different data.
Notes are notes. It's sync them or not.
Calendars and contacts you can select specific groups and calendars though I would recommend using iCloud (not iTunes) to sync this.

  • Can't sync new iPhone 4 with iTunes without it locking up iTunes

Got my new iPhone 4 last Friday. They tell me I need to register it and sync it. Didn't get around to trying that until yesterday. Tried most of the day and night last night, using iTunes 9.whatever it was. Kept on locking up iTunes. Tried deleting iTunes, reinstalling it and trying again. Didn't work. Even trying to register the phone made iTunes lock up.
Downloaded iTunes 10 last night. Have the same situation, BUT, it finally did allow me to finally register my phone this afternoon. Thought the problem was solved. Still won't allow me to sync.
Sync starts up (took it off the auto-sync setting) and it says it is going to backup the device - Step 1. Sometimes the progress bar moves 1/4 inch, sometimes 1/2 inch. Sometimes it just has the moving pattern on it. Once or twice, it actually got to Step 2, whatever that is. It always locks up. I've left it running for hours... still won't work.
Was told to delete iTunes, restart, delete trash and reinstall it. Tried that SEVERAL times, still didn't work. Was told to delete some other files (the IT guy was standing beside me because I have NO clue as to what to do with these files) - at least 1 file from the Library and not certain where the others were. That didn't work either. It just keeps on locking up iTunes and quite often, when I check with Force Quit, it shows that iTunes isn't responding. I repaired disk permissions. Didn't work. I unchecked what to sync - just trying to sync Apps now, and it still doesn't work.
All software is up-to-date on both the phone as well as my MBP. I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?
Just tried it again and just plugging in the iPhone caused the beach ball to start spinning. I've GOT to be doing something wrong, but I'm at a loss.
Thanks in advance for your help.

After purchasing a new iPhone 5S I had a problem syncing iTunes with the iPhone...At the Apple Store, the Service Rep backed up my iPhone to iCloud in order to transfer all data from the old phone to the new phone. At home when I tried to sync iTunes with my new iPhone 5S, iTunes would not recognize my new phone. I discovered iTunes was configured to back up data to my Mac hard drive and the iPhone was configured to back up data to iCloud. There was a conflict, subsequently causing iTunes to not recognize my new iPhone 5S. My solution was to delete iCloud from the iPhone. After doing this, iTunes synced with the iPhone with no problems. No data was lost and syncing occurred normally.
I recommend these as possible solutions:
    1) The Apple store will back up your phone using iCloud. Make sure that iTunes is configured to back up to iCloud before you plug your new phone into iTunes for syncing/back-up. If your iTunes is configured to back up data to your hard drive, ensure that the Apple Store does not back up your phone data to iCloud. You will have to back up all iPhone data yourself at home on iTunes.
    2) If they insist on backing up your phone data to iCloud from your old phone to your new phone then, be sure to delete the iCloud account off your new phone before you try to sync your new phone to iTunes.
I used the 2nd solution to solve my syncing issues. Everything works great now. iTunes recognized my new phone and can now sync/back-up data with out problems, error messages or loss of data.
Hope this helps everyone out! I intend to get drunk to relieve all the stress and hopefully restore my sanity as a result of having to solve this problem while having to act as my own Apple support staff!

  • Can I sync my iPhone 3GS with iTunes on two separate computers?

I have a PC desktop with iTunes set up and have already done a sync with my iPhone 3GS (IOS 4.2.1).  I recently acquired a PC laptop (Windows 7).  Is there a way I can sync the content (contacts, calendar, photos - no tunes) with iTunes on the new laptop (while maintaining the iTunes on the desktop)?

Yes, you can do this, but be sure to uncheck iTunes content syncing on the other computer. Each sync item can be synced with only one computer.
