I can't sync my ipod to another computer, my first one is dead, plz help!!!

ok, so the computer that i had my itunes on died, and after i downloaded itunes on this computer, it told me i had to delete everything on my ipod and sync it with what's in the library on this computer, which is nothing. i don't want to lose my music, and i'd rather not have to download anything, so is there any other way to do this? i don't have disk usage enabled

  • How can I sync my ipod on another computer without losing my music

I got music on my parents computer, and I tried downloading it to my ipod, but it won't sync without deleting all of my songs

You can manage music and videos among different computer as follows:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
But you can only sync with one iTunes library.

  • My computer died. I do not want to loose one video on my iPod, how can I  use the iPod  on another computer? Please help!

please advise how I can put my iPod on another computer, my old one died a slow death.  There is one short video on my iPod that can't  be replaced.

    - What is the source of the videos? If taken by the iPod you can transfer them to the new computer by:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
    - If they were iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - If they were synced to the iPod and not iTunes purchases then you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView.

  • If i sync my ipod with another computer to get more music on it. Will it erase all my apps, app data, and pictures?

If i sync my ipod with another computer to get more music on it. Will it erase all my apps, app data, and pictures?

All synced media that is not already in the iTunes library on the second computer will be erased. This second computer will be your syncing computer
You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library.

  • I recently restored my computer and now I can not sync my ipod to my computer - the error says "my ipod is synced with anothers itunes libary"

I can not sync my ipod to my computer - the error message says " my ipod is synced with another itnes libary"

Re-installing the OS on your PC has caused your iPod to think it is now syncing with a new/different iTunes library. An iPod can only be synced with one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync the iPod with a different/new iTunes library it will erase the contents the iPod and replace them with what is in the new library.

No, it's impossible as your iTunes Library containing your new music is on your computer, which you don't have access to.

  • Can't sync my iPod with replacement computer.

The mother board on my computer crashed, so I got another computer, second hand.  The original owner also had an itunes account.  When I plug in my iPod, I get a message that it is synced with a different library.  The music list shows all my music, but I think also the music of the last user.  I can't get updates on my apps and other purchases.  Any suggestions??  Thanks in advance!!  JTJ   (Windows 7)

What files did you move around so this replacement PC is showing your music?  Or is it only showing your music when your iPod is plugged in?
itunes is like other PC programs - when you get a different PC, you need to move files & settings over from the old PC. Such as browser bookmarks, email settings & contacts, digital photos....all of it.

  • Just got my computer back, reset my itunes and added new music. how can i sync my ipod with the computer as I do not want to erase what I have on my ipod

Just got my computer back. How can I reset my itunes so it matches my IPod settings? I have my favorites and files on my IPod that I want to keep and when I try to sync it gives me the option to erase and sync with computer. How can I sync without loosing any music or files at all?

    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer.  Right click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from backup

  • I just can't sync my ipod with my computer

i just bought another ubs connecter to  sync my ipod. for some reason it is not allowing to sync?

Why not? What happens when you try?  Is your iPod not recognized by iTunes?  If so, have you worked through each and every troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?

  • HT1296 How do you sync your iPod to another computer without deleting all the data?

I recently got a new MacBook Air and I found out that if I sync my iPod touch with my new computer instead of my old one all my data will be deleted.
How do I sync my iPod without deleting all my information?

You can't, so you'll need to get all your data, apps and content to the new computer before you allow the sync. See this support article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
You can also download most of your content (the notable exceptions being movies, some of which can be redownloaded if you're in the US, and audiobooks) again from the iTunes Store:

  • Can I sync my ipod to my computer if it hasnt been synced before without losing everything?

I want to sync my ipod because its disabled but i dont want to lose everything.

No, you have to erase the iPod. You can restore from your last backup
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
