I can't sync my ipod touch 1st generation with macbook pro.
It recognises that its my ipod and says sync completed but there is no music or content on the ipod from my itunes library.

Thanks Chris. Have tried this but does not work. I restored the ipod touch to original settings and erased all data a few weeks ago too as thought this would help but it hasn't. Any advice?

All you can do is get a newer model iPod. The 2G can only go as high as 4.2.1. Its hardare does not support a higher iOS version

I have an iPod touch that I often use to manage different events for work. I have been able to sync the events on my calendar from my MacBook Pro to the iPod touch successfully using wifi. What I really need to do though is sync my iPod calendar events to my MacBook Pro calendar. Is this possible? How do I set this up? It would be a huge help if I could transfer the events on my iPod calendar to my computers calendar. I currently have the wifi sync option on and have turned on the sync calendars option in iTunes. Are you able to view those photos in full screen mode or in the Edit mode? Scrolll thru those photos in full screen mode to make sure you can view them in the larger view. If you get a black window or a black window with an "!" in the center then that's why you can't sync. Post back with the results.

I used to use my desktop computer for all my iPod and iTunes needs, but it's Windows XP so I no longer use it. I now have a Windows 8.1 laptop which I want to use for my iPod. Photos can be backed up but I have a lot of game progress and iMessages that I don't want to lose.

You will lose your app data unless you backup to the new computer and then restore from backup will all the app in the iTunes library of the new computer.

Help... iPod Touch wifi conflict with MacBook Pro?

Experiencing intermittent (wifi access) conflict between iPod Touch (2G) and MacBook Pro (2010).
If the MacBook Pro connects with the internet via our home-office wifi network, subsequent efforts to connect with our iPod Touch do not work. The iPod [shows] the network, indicates a connection, but there are no bars. Additionally, the iPod's semi-connection will disappear and reappear repeatedly.
However, if the IPod Touch is first or only device to connect, then there are no difficulties; and it's connection does not impede that of the MacBook Pro.
Have tried shutting down all devices, rebooting the router, etc. At times, and at best, this provides only a momentary resolution.
Your advice appreciated.

I have this problem.. and after spending time at the Genius Bar yesterday, I discovered that my old ipod touch is obsolete..( the Ipod touch is a 32.bit system, while the newer operating system is 64... so they're simply not compatible.)
I expressed great dismay that my perfectly good ipod touch was now obsolete... then the genius suggested I export my contacts and calendars to Google..
That was easy to do, and then, on the Google community forum i learned about nuevasync.com, which lets you synch all of this back to your ipod touch via Exchange.
WOrked like a charm.
Nuevasync. com is free for an initial trial (10 days?) and then costs only 15$ per YEAR.. so I'll use this as a good work-around

IPod Touch 1st Generation stopped charging and sync.

Hi, I have an iPod Touch 1st Generation that I bought in november 2007(just when it came to the stores) and now, 4 years lates it started to present some problems, first, it stoped to sync with the iTunes, then my computer(mac and PC) stoped reconizing it and now it stoped to charge, as in computer as in the wall. I don't know if it's important but I tryed to install Installer (the old and hacker store with some poor apps) but I coudn't, and an weird app called Zibri's Blog is in it and I can't erase... I can't restart my iPod... actually I can't do ANYTHING! And I love my iPod, I don't want to buy another one now... Is there ANY kind of solution or someone else have ever saw something like this? After charging the iPod for a couple of hours, place the iPod in DFU moade and they connect to your computer and try to restore via iTunes.
