I can't sync my new purchases, saying computer not authorized, but when I try to authorize it says incorrect passcode when I know is correct. Already unistalled and reinstalled. help?

I am having trouble syncing my ipod nano with my desktop.  I purchased new songs that show up on my desktop but cannot get them to sync to my nano.  The computer keeps giving me the message it is not authorized.  Then it asks for my passcode which it says is incorrect.  Which how can that happen when I can still go into Itunes and purchases songs with the same passcode?  The computer just keeps looping to "not authorized" and "incorrect passcode". But I was able to see my computer is 1 of 2 computers authorized but does not seem to be recognizing this. So,  I called apple support and they had me unistall and reinstall itunes but I am still having the same problem.  Does anyone have any suggestions how to get pass this?  Any help would be great thanks!!

  • Missing Apps, says computer not authorized but it is - iPhone & iPad

Eight apps (including Kindle Reader, Geocaching, IBird Explorer, etc.) mysteriously dissappeared from both my iPhone 3gs and iPad2. When I tried to return the apps from my Windows Vista computer I got the message "You are not authorized for them on this computer." I followed the instructions to authorize my computer and got the message "This computer is already authorized". I deauthorized the computer then reauthorized it but the results were the same. I have  removed the SC folder as instructed and reauthorized the computer. It didn't help. I turned the User Account Controls off and back on as suggested. That didn't help. Everything suggested I've tried over and over again with the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I had to log into itunes> on a panel on the right side of the store>click itunes plus. On there is a list of your itunes that have DRM issues you need to buy. If you look in your imovie; when you pick a song, look at the little icon. You will find a lock on the corner.
I bought the tune i wanted for my movie for .30 cents. Then It was free. Total cost for my song $1.30.
I guess from now on if I want to use it for imovie> pay 30cents more.
This might work for you. I did for me.

  • I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I purchased music on my computer with old email address, same computer new email address, but I get play music becasue it tells me computer not authorized...how do you authorize???

I have almost the exact same problem. I have a bunch of music, ringtones, TV shows, movies... stuff that I purchased that I can't authorize. All of these items were purchased with the same account I'm still using now. The difference is that I've changed my email address. I don't have the original email address from when I made those purchases and I'm unable to authorize them. I can see that when I view info on one of these purchases the "Account Name: " has my old email address... not my iTunes or Apple account. So, if I'm authorizing my iTunes using my new email none of these older purchases will work.
I'm really curious how to fix this. I've got quite a few purchases from years back that I'd like access to, but I can't authorize using my new email/iTunes or my old email (the one used for the original purchases).
Take a look at the info and tell me if you see "Account Name:" on one of your purchases. And is that associated to your old email address? There has to be a way to fix this or 'transfer' older purchases, especially if it's all under the same real 'account'.

  • Why do apps not sync -- it says computer not authorized.  I tried unauthorizing my computer and then reauthorizing and I tried deleting the sc file.  It still says the app is not authorized on this computer.

why do apps not sync -- it says computer not authorized.  I tried unauthorizing my computer and then reauthorizing and I tried deleting the sc file.  It still says the app is not authorized on this computer and I'm unable to sync this app that I previously had downloaded.  Any help pls.

Did you download the app via that same iTunes account id ? Have you tried re-downloading it directly on your iPad (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519) ?

I am trying to sync my music from my computer to my iphone 6 but my computer keeps bringing up an error box "computer not authorized" but it is authorized. Please help!

I have a pc and am trying to get my music through my iTunes on my computer.  I didn't have any trouble syncing my iphone 5S but can't get it to sync with my 6. OS 8.1.3
I open iTunes on my pc, plug in my phone, then I click on the picture of a phone on the upper left hand corner of my music library. Then I get a box of options with sync at the lower right.  I have clicked "automatically sync when phone is plugged in" and have also tried to do it manually by checking specific songs and albums.  Every time I hit sync the box pops up that says, "The iPhone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone.  To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store choose Store>Authorize This Computer."
I took those steps and a box pops up that says "this computer is already authorized."
I have my recently purchased music on my phone that came through the cloud when I restored my phone. But I want my old music from CD's that I put on my iTunes library in my computer.  I had all of this music on my old phone.
Thank you so much for your time!  I'm obviously not very good at this!

  • Downloaded song will not play, says computer not authorized. When I re-enter my information it says computer already authorized.

My computer is the authorized computer, and when I go to play a song i just purchased it says computer not authorized. It prompts me to login, I o and it still dont work. I am only having trouble with one song from the album.

I fixed the same issue  here with a short walk through!
I had this problem before with a track from Kendrick Lamar's album "good kid, m.A.A.d city"
    Enjoy!

  • ITunes says computer not authorized. When I try to authorize computer it says it is already authorized but will not play song

iTunes says computer not authorized. When I try to authorize computer it says it is already authorized but will not play song. Note. Library was moved from PC to MAC. I am signed in to Itunes with the Apple ID created on the old computer which is different than the Apple ID used to set up the MAC.

I'm experiencing the same thing under iTunes 11.1.1:
iTunes says the computer is not authorized, prompts me to authorize
I enter my credentials, iTunes says computer is already authorized
When I attempt to play song, iTunes starts at bullet point 1 above over again.
    My attempted fixes:
I tried everything in this support document, to no avail: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 (Note: I cannot find a SC Info folder on my Mac)
    Deauthorize and then reauthorize computer
Delete song and try to redownload from iTunes store - there's only a button that says 'purchased' with no option to redownload it
Note: I am using only one iTunes account, and I double checked the song info - I'm authorizing the correct account - 12 songs from the same album purchased at the same time play fine. As does the song in question - from the finder. Only iTunes stubbornly refuses to play it.
The most odd thing is that iTunes music is DRM free - the song in question was purchased only a few months ago. Thus there's no need to authorize the computer to play it.
I was hoping that iTunes 11.1.1 would cure it - no dice.

I set up an PC with iTunes and have my library but cannot get it to transfer new purchases, I get a pop up that states "computer not authorized" how do I authorize computer? account originated on a Mac

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • TS2776 I can't sync my iPhone movies.  Have 3 movies but I get an error message that says some of the items in the iTunes library weren not copies because they could not be found.  What do I do?

I can't sync my iPhone movies.  I have 3 movies but now I am getting an error message that says some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied becuase they could not be found.  Two of the movies are from the iTunes store and one is froma movie recently purchased.

Had the same issue, found a solution.
The iTunes Store open in my iTunes was U.S. and the apps on my iPad are from Switzerland's store. So I went to iTunes Store in iTunes, then opened the App Store tab and at the bottom right of this tab clicked the round american Flag button. Changed to Switzerland, went to Store>Authorize this computer (which it did sucessfully) and after that syncronization worked great. Hope this helps

  • Some itunes purchases won't sync to iphone - says computer not authorized

Last night I set up my 2 computers (desktop and laptop) to home share and authorized both. When I try to add purchased music to the library on the laptop (from the desktop), some of the albums will add fine, but some will say that the computer is not authorized. I don't remember which computer I was on when I purchased each album, but that shouldn't matter with sharing, should it? I authorized both computers and still get the error on some albums.
A while ago, I had to move all my music on the laptop (moved it all from the C: drive to the D: drive b/c I ran out of space). Would that make a difference? I can still see all my purchased music in the "purchased" folder, but can't add the albums from there either.
I can't seem to add music right to my iphone from the desktop when on the laptop either. Isn't that what the sharing should allow me to do?
I'm running Vista if that makes a difference. Please help, I want to get my music on my phone! Thanks.

    Thanks for the info.
So does that mean if I buy something from iTunes, I have to buy it on one computer (desktop) and can only sync to that one? Or should I be able to pull that music to the other computer (laptop) through the Home Share and then sync to that?
Almost all of my music is on the desktop. Do I need to have it ALL on the desktop and then put whatever I want to be on the iPhone onto the Library on the laptop and sync with that?
Still not sure why some of my purchases won't add to the iPhone??

  • Can't load apps. Says computer not authorized

I didn't sinc my iPod touch with my laptop for about a month and when I did, it erased most of my apps from my iPod.
I have tried to load each one separately, but it tells me that the same message as when I try to do a group load, that my computer is not authorized.
I have deauthorized and reauthorized my computer, the same one I originally used to purchase these apps, and still tells me that it's not authorized.
I have tried downloading iTunes again and it still doesn't work.
I am able to load new apps to it though. I says I have 2.2 and each time it asks if I want to load 2.2.1. It doesn't matter which option I choose, it's the same issue.
Same goes for my music too.
Someone please help. I am going in circles here and getting quite dizzy.
    Thanks
