I can't sync songs from Ubuntu 10.04. None of recommended apps works for me properly. Any solution?

I tried using Rhythmbox, Banshee, gtkpod, but any of them won't work for me. Banshee and gtkpod even can not see my iTouch 4G with iOS 5.0.1, Rhythmbox can, but shows, that there is no any content on iPod. Nothing works for me, neither ifuse, nor itunes on Wine. I suppose, that should be  a great problem for Apple, to let its' users feel comfortable with their devices. But no steps are token to solve the problems, that Windows and UNIX systems users face.
Can anyone advice me, what should I do now?

iOS5.x devices will hapily work together with Linux, both as Photo-Camera as well as MP3-Device to sync music.
The version of idevice utils in Ubuntu 10.x is only good for iOS4.x, For 5.x you need a recent version of libusbmuxd, libplist and ifuse,idevice-utils. See the libmobiledevice website or google that term to be directed to howto's.
I use a ipod touch4 in ubuntu 11.10 with f-spot/shotwell ( free iphoto clones )  and sync via banshee ( free itunes clone ) - zero problems.
As far as I have read , the next ubuntu 12.04 ( in april, long-term-release ) will have the libs pre-installed, so it should work out of the box. For the earlier OS like yours, there is the post-install needed.

  • Songs from Album Split (Again) - NONE of the Tips Work

This is super frustrating, and I have seen all of the advice on here about this issue. It's the whole "multiple versions of the same album are showing up in iTunes" problem. Tried all of the tricks:
CTRL+Click on each album and then changing the album name and changing it back, doesn't work.
Making sure the meta data on each track is EXACTLY the same, including the sorting data, doesn't work.
Checking off the songs as "part of a compilation" and then unchecking that, works for some but not all.
Making sure each album has the exact same album art, doesn't work.
I'm out of ideas. I even looked at bit rates and such, ANYTHING that might be different between them, and there is NOTHING.
PS, THIS is what I'm referring to if you don't know:

Do they group together while the title is AlbumX then spilt when you restore the original title? If so try closing and opening iTunes after the change.
If changing Album alone doesn't fix it then include Album, Artist, Album Arist, Sort Album, Sort Artist, Sort Album Artist and Part of a compilation in the update.
If it still won't link together a screen shot of the Artists view, showing the split album and the same tracks from the songs view with the above listed fields might at least demonstrate that every effort has been made to achieve a resolution. I'm not having issues myself that won't resolve quickly but I could forward a link to this thread as part of a bug report if you don't have access to that channel, or you could open a free Apple Developer Connections account and do it yourself.

  • Can't sync songs from mac pro to iPhone 4S

My iTunes is 11.1.3 (8), my iPhone 4S is iOS 7.0.4, my Mac Pro is OS X 10.9.1
Tried numerous times to drag the songs to the device i.e. iPhone 4S and tried the button 'Add to'.  No error message but neither do the songs imported to my iPhone.  Please help.
    Thanks

All is good, I hadn't turned on the 'Move music manually' or something! Silly!

I can't sync photos from my PC and get (-50) error

    Hello evilemma72,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you do not see a checkbox to enable syncing photos, and instead see a message the iCloud Photos is on, then it indicates you have iCloud Photo Library enabled on your iPhone, and the photos already exist on your phone.  To learn more about iCloud Photo Library, take a look at the article below.

    Take care,

How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
    1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
    2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download."

Connect your phone to itunes as you have been doing.
In the sidebar, select you phone and then on the main part of the iTunes window, select Music.
Check the Sync Music box and then you can either sync all music, or select the tracks/albums/artists/genres as you wish.
Once selected, at the bottom right on the maon iTunes window, select Sync.
Music will now be copied to you phone.

  • HT203167 lost my hard drive how can i get songs from ipod back to new computer

I lost my hard drive and want to get my music back on my new computer. How can I get songs from my ipod to my computer? I am afraid to sync it and losing what is on my ipod. Any help would be appreciated.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

Connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (on iTunes 11 on a PC you can enable the sidebar via control-S, on a Mac via option-command-S) and on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen select the Music tab and use that to select which of your computer's iTunes music to sync to your phone's Music app.

    Hi.
I have new iTunes on a new laptop, as I left my computer (desktop) back in my country.
How can I transfer songs from iPhone 3GS to iTunes?

    BusyBeesam
DO NOT sync your iPhone or all your music will be lost.
Use a music transfer software like Senuti to move your music from your iPhone to yur Computer/iTunes.

  • Can I transfer songs from Ipod back to new hard drive?

My hard drive recently completely crashed, got it replaced but couldn't recover any data. When I re-installed Itunes the library was obviously empty but I'm wondering if there is anyway I can get the songs from the Ipod back into the library without starting completely over? I tried opening the device to possibly copy and paste files but can only access the photo files. When I connect Ipod to the computer I only get the option to Erase and Sync, and I really really don't want to have to do that if there is some other way
