I can't sync songs or apps

can anyone help me because i plug inmy ipod to sync it, but it doesnt even go past the backing up part.

What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
See if that doesn't work for you.  I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly.

Can you share songs and apps but use multiple apple ID's?

hmm, that's a trick one! what I would do is go to Messages>preferences>accounts and then select imessages and then select account details and then sign out. Then your wife will need to sign in with her apple id.
    hope this helps!!
let me know if that works because I've never actually tried it.
simply adding both of your accounts to be reached at will prove to be faulty because when you reply you can only reply with the one email address. And even if you switch caller id's it probably still won't work. So I think my method would be the easiest way to do that at this time.

  • With home sharing, can I sync music and apps on multiple computers at home?

    Hi.
With home sharing, can I sync music and apps on multiple computers at home?
Basically, I want to sync my iphone and ipad on 2~3 computers at home without deleting contents in my iphone and ipad.
    thanks.

I did some more checking as I still had my old computer online.
I booted and went into iTunes.
Under DEVICES, the TV was listed, along with MUSIC, PHOTOS, PLAYLISTS, much like an iPod/Touch.
When I went into PREFERENCES->TV DEVICES, the TV was listed and on the site, it stated SYNCING.
On the other computer, it listed STREAMING.  I did do a RIGHT CLICK on the device and selected "STOP STREAMING" and it disappeard - must RE-PAIR with the unit I guess.
I'm afraid to perform the following, but if someone out there has the equipment, maybe they can check...
Make sure nothing else is managing the TV.
Pair with the unit so you have all sorts of options under the device and it shows 'syncing'.
Now, create a new account and perform the same thing or use another Mac.  I believe it will limit you to STREAMING only.
My thoughts are that ONLY ONE computer can sync (just like other device).  I have to disconnect the association with the old computer.
Even though I moved everything over with Migration Assistant, I didn't have any issues with managing the iPhones, but I'm wondering if there is a Computer UUID that the AppleTV is TIED to.  Since I'm on a different computer UUID, and it's being managed by another one, I'm limited to STREAMING.
Only other choice is to RESET the unit - now, where did my manual go?
    Thoughts?

  • Can i sync my ipod apps with pc without deleting the apps at pc

Hey sry for bad english i am german ;p
i Want to update my Ipd at the pc of my girlfrind so i have to sync my ipod to save my apps and musik the problem is i don´t want to delete here Apps or music saved at the PC and also i dont wanna delete my one and how can i find them when they are in her playlist cause it´s above 2000song dont know every of them.
A simpler way is to update it on my pc but there i cant connect to Itunes and there is the problem in my itunes isabove 170GB music there i never find my old song or is it possible without deleting songs and apps on iPod or saving them seperatly.
I hope you understand me and can help me

yes its possible, before you connect to pc change a setting in itunes:
open itunes, go to edit (bearbeiten, steht oben links neben datei) ---> settings (einstellungen)---> device (geräte) and there you can turn off automatic sync (automatische synchronisierung von ipods.... verhindern, da ein haken vor setzen)
would be the best if you back up your data at your pc before you make the update at another pc
    edit:
her pc will not be deleted, you ipod will also keep everything

Yes, you can sync your iPhone just as you did your Touch and get the same songs, apps, video, etc.

  • HT1386 I did a system restore on my computer.  When I had it up and running I downloaded the latest version of itunes.  Now I can't sync any new apps to my ipods.  What may be the problem?

I did a system restore on my computer.  When I had it up and running again, I downloaded the latest version of itunes.  Now I can't sync apps to my sons ipod.  What can I do to fix this?

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions.

OK, I finally got it - do the following:
    1. Connect Pre to your computer in USB mode.
    2. Open search feature and search for "ipod controls" file in the Pre drive (on my computer this is drive E
    3. On the search feature, go to advanced tab and tell it to search for hidden files.
    4. It should find ipod controls.
    5. DELETE, DELETE, DELETE
Keep in mind that this will delete all previously uploaded music installed by using *ughhh* itunes.  I love it.  Now I just drag and drop all music to my Pre drive.  Hope this helps.  It is nice to have a fresh start without having to wipe the entire phone.  Good luck out there.
This worked brilliantly!!! Thank you so much!! Pre is set......only issue now is that fact that half my music in iTunes is in a Protected AAC file format that the Pre can't play

  • Can't sync songs to ipod - help?

I've been having trouble with syncing songs to my ipod. I inadvertently lost all my songs, but they agreed to restore them. So far, so good. All the 50+ songs that I'd purchased from itunes in the last 2 years were restored --- but to what? My "library?" While all those songs appear whenever I plug in my ipod, there is no way they will sync back onto the ipod. Should I burn all those songs to CD's and then try to sync them? Apple suppost says they can't help me any further.

    Ummm.
If your iPod says it is connected to another library, it should ask you if you want to replace all the songs on it. Click "Yes."
There is really no need to open up an old Library file.
To delete music from iTunes and iPod, simply hilight the song(s) you want to delete, press the delete key, and make sure you click "Move to Recycle Bin."
If this has nothing to do with your problem, please post back, only a with little more clarity.

  • How can I keep songs and apps that were downloaded by a former roommate?

My pc says songs or apps are not authorized by this computer because my former roommate purchased them...can I keep these songs?

They are not your songs and you have no legal right to them.
    Sorry.

  • Can't sync song info to iphone 4s?

Ever since I switched from my 3g to a 4s I have noticed the following problem, which I think others have noted as well, but so far I have yet to see a solution:
When I change or update song information manually on itunes (like, change the name of a song, or an artist for a group of songs, etc), itunes makes and saves the change, which shows up correctly entered on the itunes screen under the 'music' tab for my phone, but on my actual phone post-sync, all of the incorrect information is still unchanged.
Is there any fix for this yet? Updating to 5.1 did not fix it.
I have my music set to sync manually, and I don't back up all my music to the computer because the computer I'm using isn't mine, so it's important for me to be able to edit the information from the itunes tab for it while my phone is plugged in, not just re-enter all the songs in the main library.

Although the screen resolution isn't up to 1080p, the iPhone (3GS, 4, 4S), iPod touch (> 2nd Gen) and iPad are all capable of decoding 1080p content (as long as the profile isn't too high).  I know this because whenever I use Handbrake to rip a bluray at 1080p, it works fine on all of my devices.  iTunes will even stream them over home sharing.
However, all of this falls down if you flag a video file as HD 1080p.  I found that when I was opening my rips with Subler (to add artwork and metadata), they would no longer be visible in my shared library via my iDevices, only AppleTV 3.  This was happening because Subler was setting the HD flag to 1080p.  I found that changing this in Subler to 720p or None, resulted in the rips re-appearing in the library.
So, this is not a device limitation, it is iTunes being restrictive.  iTunes shouldn't restrict based on video resolution, it should restrict on the encoding profile.
I've never tried opening a purchased movie with Subler but, if you can, try re-flagging your content as 720p and see if you can now sync your 1080p content.  Don't worry, it's only a metadata flag that you're changing, it won't change the resolution of the movie.

  • I can't sync apps to my iPad. They tell me to authorize my computer. But, I have already done that. A relative of mine downloaded apps to my iPad from her Apple ID. So how can I sync the iTunes apps from my PC to my iPad?

I had gotten this iPad 2 from one of my relatives who had already purchased some apps using her Apple ID, after I got the iPad, I downloaded some apps from iTunes on PC through my own Apple ID, when I try to sync them to my iPad, they tell me to authorize my computer, but I've already done that. So, how can I sync my apps to my iPad? (By the way, I don't know anything about the Apple ID of my relative).

delete/uninstall the apps that your relative downloaded on you iPad. to do that tap and hold on and icon til it shakes, once its shaking downloaded apps will havee (X) mark on them on a red bubble, tap on it to delete

  • Can't sync just one app?

Am I the only one who is having problems syncing apps? For some reason (I think it's the new version of iTunes that's causing it), I can't sync one app without all the rest of them going onto my phone. I have like 500+ apps in my library, so you can imagine how long it takes to delete them all. I've already had to restore my phone once because I didn't want to spend hours deleting them. Is there any way to get around this?

There is a Remove / Install button to the right of each app. Select remove for the ones you want to remove and Install for the ones you want. Then click Apply
