I can't take any more!
OK, this afternoon my patience finally ran out. I am sick of that beachball, I am sick of my external hard drives whirring endlessly every time I launch Aperture, I am sick of the soul-destroying slowness of this app. It can't even find files let alone open them that Bridge brings up in an instant.
You can't run Aperture with Photoshop without both grinding to a halt which is really limiting.
I have what is supposed to be a high end laptop that cost me a lot of money but it just aint good enough for the Mighty Aperture, oh no.
These new Apple ads make me laugh. 'It just works' Hey Steve, no it doesn't if you're running Aperture.
This app needs a hardware spec that is frankly ridiculous. I'm giving up and moving to Lightroom. Maybe.

I think the problem seems to have started when I
migrated my Aperture library to a 500GB USB2 hard
drive. It seems to be generating endless previews
every time I launch it....
There's your problem...
From my own experience with Aperture, the upgrade that brought about the most dramatic performance boost was changing to a faster disk setup. I'm now using 3 MaxLine III drives in a RAID-0 stripe. Before that I had 3 striped Barracuda ES drives (that have a known yet unexplained random IO speed problem on the Mac Pro), and Aperture was a lot more sluggish. I cannot imagine how bad a single-disk configuration would be...
In your situation I'd ditch the USB drive and get an external 2 or better 4 disk RAID-0 capable firewire enclosure.

Icloud storage has nothing at all to do with the storage on your iphone.
Icoud storage is on a server somwewhere, not on your iphone.

How come my Iphone 4 keeps saying not enough storagespace to take any more pictures and can't get updates yet I keep deleting apps and photos off my phone and my itunes on my computer and yet I feel like I don't have many apps or that many photos?
Check Settings > General > Usage to display what's taking all your space.

Because the issue is that you don't have sufficient available space on your phone, not that you don't have enough space in your iCloud account. Adding storage in iCloud does not give you more space on your phone.
You can check your available space by going to Settings>General>Usage. You'll need to delete or sync some data off your phone to freee up more space. -

Hi,
I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and when I try to use Siri it loads and loads and then says, "I'm really sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while."
I rebooted and it didn't fix the problem. I just got my iPhone 4s (unlocked right from Apple) several weeks ago.Siri has been a bit more erratic than usual in the last week or so. Apple has announced a major announcement for 9/12. Conclusions are left to the reader.

You can sync and download many different types of content on your device. Some types of content (such as music and videos) typically take more space than others (such as notes and books). The amount of space taken by an app depends on the app's purpose; complex or graphically intense apps usually take more space than simpler apps.
If your device is near its capacity, you can remove some of the less used content to make room for more.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

My computer crashed. So does this mean I can not add any more music to my ipod from a different computer without all the songs being erased? The ipod works fine and now i got a new computer. Yes, if you choose the Erase and Sync option (or restore your iPod) you will be allowed to sync your iPod with the new computer.

Since you can import into a library in the other user account there is something in your account that is the culprit. First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Actually, there is a TRANSPOSE Function, but no Command or Tool for that. It's one of the more useful and popular omissions in Numbers. Perhaps because it falls into the "didn't plan ahead so now I need a tool" category of features, it didn't make the cut.
Use of the Transpose Function is described in the Function Browser, the Help feature and in the Functions of Formulas User Guide PDF. It involves using the INDEX function to read out the array created by the Transpose function. Another way to do this is to use the OFFSET function in an expression and by exchanging the row and column references.
Yvan Koenig has written an Applescript that will automate the transposition for data and for certain simple expressions. You can get it from his Box Account, on this page.

Can't add any more buddies, but i always could, even over the limit..
On my iChat buddy list (on an AIM account), I have a lot over the 200 maximum, and it has always worked fine. I had almost 300 buddies, and then tried to add a few more. The first one worked, but the second two adds didn't. Is there a way to fix this other than deleting some buddies?

I've got to the stage now though, where I can't add any more.
I can draw the shape using the Draw AP Div tool, but as soon as I
let go of the mouse button, the box disappears (it doesn't get as
far as becoming a blue box).
I've checked that it's not hidden beneath another layer.
One thing I have noticed is that if I use design view to
delete an AP element, it doesn't seem to get removed from the code.
Anyone got any ideas?
