I can't transfer audiobooks from Overdrive

I download audiobooks from the library to the OverDrive Media Console and then transfer them to my iPhone. This process worked really well until a few months ago when I upgraded my iPhone system software. Now after I transfer the audiobook (which can take up to 30 minutes), only a few parts (the books are split into several parts) actually make the transfer, and those parts end up in all different locations: their own playlist (titled same as book), in the recently downloaded playlist, or sometimes in the Audiobook section (which is where they used to go consistently). Never do I get the entire book anymore.
Any ideas on what happend and how I can fix this?

What format are these audiobook tracks in? If it's the WAV format it will not work with the iPod Classic. You'll want to use the MP3 version instead from OverDrive.

  • Can no longer transfer audiobooks from overdrive to ipod nano 6

Can no longer transfer audiobooks from overdrive to ipod nano 6. Diagnostics: Connectivity test-ipod found. Sync test -ipod not found. This problem began about 2 weeks ago. I downloaded itunes update 12.1.0.71 about 1 week ago. I'm on Windows 7.

Do you mean a playlist created by Overdrive?
I downloaded the newest version of ODM yesterday.  Couldn't do it from within the application, had to uninstall/reinstall it.  Here's what's happening now with WMA, which is my preferred format:
-Instead of just moving the audiobook and cover graphic and all that over as in the past, now ODM creates a separate playlist under 'Books' in your device.  Problem is, only some (seemingly random) tracks go over there.  The others just show up under 'Books' but not in the specified playlist, so you have to drag them over in iTunes.
-If you stop listening, it starts over from the beginning next time you're ready to resume, so if you expect to find your place again right away like in the good old days, think again.
-For me the WORST PART is only so much data of that sort is permitted under 'Books' so it seems, because after a certain threshold the transferred parts of books become greyed out and cannot be played.  You are limited to far less data in a period of time than previously.  I used to be able to keep several books on my device at once and listen to multiple things depending on my mood etc.  Now I can fit about 2-3 big books, or 4-6 smaller ones, MUCH less than previously was possible, which is a problem if you've waited for a popular title at the library that you don't have the room for (even though you have plenty of memory in the device).
All in all, I think ODM need to get their act together.  We should not allow them to think they are done with this upgrade, the fixes might be okay for temporary, but they are unacceptable for a permanent format.  They have a phone number on their website.  I left a message.  Others have been tweeting them too, not sure of the contact info.
Good luck everyone.  Post back here if you find something out.

Can't transfer mp3 from overdrive with new itunes 12.1 update. Was told aware of problem. When is it going to be fixed? This is very frustrating. There are a lot of glitches now with trying to transfer audiobooks even the WMA. 12.1 deleted my entire music library.

My printer prints just fine when I am printing from it but when I try to print from my computer, it shows up ready on the print screen but once I press print, it does not print.  When I check the printer screen on my computer again, it shows "error".  I cannot find any error with my computer or the printer!  What is doing this and why won't my printer communicate with my computer!!?

  • HT1351 Using OverDrive Media from my library I can't transfer audiobooks to my ipod classic

Can anyone tell me how to configure my ipod Classic so I can transfer audiobooks from the library using OverDrive Media.  These particular books are labeled "ipod compatible" but when I try to transfer, after downloading to my computer, I get an error message saying they can't be transferred to my ipod.  I selected the option on my ipod to manually manage something which I know requires that I eject my ipod before disconnecting it from the computer.  Any other help?

  • Is It Possible to Transfer an Audiobook from Overdrive to An iTunes Library?

I have had no problems transfering audiobooks from Overdrive Media Console for Windows to my iPod Nano 5th Ge connnected to iTunes.  However, I cannot figure out whether I can transfer the audiobooks to an iTunes audiobooks library so I can listen to them using iTunes.  I have not even been able to figure out how to create an iTunes audiobooks library.
    1.  Is it possible to listen to audiobooks downloaded to Overdrive using iTunes?  If so, how?
    2.  How do you create an iTunes audiobooks library in the iTunes Media folder?
    3.  Are there any free sample audiobooks in the iTunes Store? That should automatically create an audiobooks library in the iTunes Media folder.

After upgrade to ios7 on iphone, parts of audiobook from Overdrive will not sync. I'm using usb to desktop to transfer.

Plug in the memory stick and it should open then create a New Folder and drag and drop the contents from the memory stick to the new folder you created. Remove the original memory stick all the information should be in the new folder you created. Now plug in the new memory stick with nothing on it when it opens drag the folder with the contents from the original memory stick folder and all into the new memory stick that opened and there you have it.

  • I have trouble transferring audiobooks from Overdrive Media Console.

I have trouble transferring audiobooks from Overdrive Media Console.  Sometimes the book does not transfer.  Sometimes it winds up in music.

I agree that transferring audiobooks to an iPhone using Overdrive is very flaky.  My biggest issue now is that when I do a transfer, about every 3rd or 4th segment doesn't transfer successfully.  I have to go back and select those and transfer again and then they are out of order with no apparent way to put them in the correct order.  So when I start listening to the book, I have to closely monitor when I am at the end of a part so that I can manually select the next part.
    My latest transfer of a book with 14 parts placed 2 versions in Audiobooks with the order 5, 12, 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14. (missing parts 4, 7, and 11)
    When I went back to Overdrive and selected parts 4, 7, and 11 to transfer, my iPhone then had a playlist with the book with the order 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 4, 7, 11.
    Crazy!!

I tried looking up how to transfer songs to iPhone but nothing worked meaning I made a playlist and tried to drop it into the iphone one, i tried to sync but it would cancle. help?

  • How can I transfer work from one computer to another?

How can I transfer work from one computer to another?

    Welcome to the forum.
I can think of three basic ways to accomplish what you wish to do:
Use the Project Archiver to archive your Project (and check the box to gather the media files), to an external HDD. Probably the easiest way to do it.
Copy the Project and ALL media files to an external HDD, but be prepared to relink the media files to the Project, as the drive letter (part of the Absolute Path) will have changed.
Edit loosely, and Share to an AV file, which will be Imported into a New Project on that second computer. Or, edit VERY tightly, and do the same. I like the first, as removing, replacing Transitions, etc., can be much more difficult, unless that "tight edit" is 100% done.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How can I transfer information from one ipad to another?

how can I transfer information from one ipad to another ?

What kind of information? You can sync things like Contacts and Calendars by using iCloud. You can backup one iPad to iTunes on a computer and then sync the backup to the other iPad. You can configure your iTunes content and sync the same content to both iPads.
It is based on what you want to do. Or are you looking for a way to send files from one iPad to another wirelessly? There are apps to do things like that, as well as cloud services, such as DropBox.

One way would be to e-mail them from yourself to yourself. That would totally avoid the different ID issue.
