I can't turn my IPod on....

Yesterday, I checked Facebook with my IPod and set it on a couch to watch the TV show. About 10 minutes later I tried to get on Facebook again and I couldn't turn it on. I tried to turn off the power and turn it on again, but my IPod was already off and I couldn't turn it on. The battery was full and I touched nothing. I just set it on the couch after Facebook. It wasn't dropped, just stayed on the couch when I was watching the TV. I can't still turn the power on. How should I do?

Jeff, Thanks for your interest, but it just came back on. I was looking at it and pressed the menu button and the apple logo came on. I had pressed it before and got nothing. I have no idea what changed. The charge was down and it was completely charged when I updated it. It has all the updated tunes on it and is on it's dock recharging now. Thanks again. I wish I could say what happened.

  • Can't turn my iPod OFF!

For the last week or so my iPod won't turn off, which is a bit of a twist on the regular "I can't turn my iPod on" posts.
Until now it would turn itself off after about five minutes unused, or I could turn it off by holding down play/pause, but now it just stays on 24/7 whether it's playing or not.
This is a bit of a pain as I need to make sure it's plugged in overnight or the battery gets run down.
    Any ideas?
Oh, and yes I have checked the "hold" switch isn't on.

I just tried the enter button and play button together - that turned it off, but as soon as I let go of the buttons it comes back on again!!
On the third or fourth attempt it turned off and stayed off so maybe I'll just have to think of it as an extra game - test your skill, can you turn the iPod off in less than three goes!

  • How can I turn my ipod on remotely so that I can use the Find my Iphone app (sound mode) to find it

I have a ipod 5 gen and I lost it somewhere around the house. I've used the Find My Iphone app, but it indicates that its offline. So I'm guessing it ran out of battey or its turned off. That's why I am asking if theres anyway that I could turn my ipod back on in order for the sound to be played from FMI app. Thanks alot for any future help.

You can't, When off it is dead
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Black screen-can't turn on-iPod touch

I can't get my iPod touch to turn on. I have tried plugging in and resetting it but the screen remains black

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ok Another problem just came up (besides the sound quality). The iPod doesn't turn off. Just goes into sleep mode. Did a reset and then a restore. Same problem. Any suggestions before I return to store for a replacement. It is a week old.
    Thanks

1)At full charge. The ipod will not turn off by holding the play/pause button. Done reset and this remains a prob
    Also
    2) I cannot see the image of my album art (even tho its uploaded) theres just a blank square.
Is this a settings issue or something more sinister??
    Need some advice please!!!

  • TS4006 Can I turn my iPod on with my Mac?

I don't know where my iPod is in my house and it says it's offline and was wondering if I could turn it on from my Mac.

Yes, if you enabled "Find my iPhone" in "Settings > iCloud" on your iPod touch and if it is connected to a Wi-Fi spot, then you could track it with your iPad by using the "Find my iPhone" app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-iphone/id376101648?mt=8.)

  • I can't turn my ipod off

I do the reset combo a million times, and it goes blank, with the light apple in the background, then it brightens back up and turns back on. How do I get it to turn off??
5th generation, with video   Windows XP

My pod wouldn't turn off either. I thought it was the battery at first, because after charging, and thinking I had switched it off, I left it over night and the battery was flat in the morning. Looking at it closely, I noticed the screen was on, very dark, but definitely on. No matter what I did it would not go off, I ended up doing a 'restore' and all seems back to normal now.

  • Can't turn off my 60 gb Ipod

As of about a week ago I can't turn my ipod off. When I hold down the bottom of the scroll whell, it turns off momentarily and then immediately turns back on. If I charge it up all the way, take it off the charger, it immediately begins to drain the battery as if I'm using it, when I'm not. So there's no way to hold a battery charge even when it's not in use. Anyone? Thanks.

Couple of ideas: Try a soft reset (Hold down the select and menu buttons for a couple of seconds until the black apple log appears.) Some have been able to get it to shut off by holding the select button down for 6 plus seconds. Finally, go into settings (main menu) and turn on "sleep".
    good luck

  • Since update, all songs have been deleted and i can't turn ipod off. HELP!!

since update, all songs have been deleted and i can't turn ipod off!! I updated the itunes software last week and the next time I synced the ipod, it immediately deleted all songs. After further investigation, i realized that my songs are still in itunes. Under the music tab, it shows the capacity and the content of the ipod. It used to have 4 gb of audio on there and now it have no audio and 4 gb of 'other' files. what does this mean? i can still see the songs in the library list, but i can't even make a playlist with them. When I click on playlist, nothing happens. Also, I can't turn the ipod off since the update. Please send any advice my way.
    Thanks,
    regan101

yes, and the problem is unresolved. i really feel that the problem is occuring with the itunes program and not the ipod. thanks, though.
