I can't turn off Accessibility Grayscale

When I pulled my iPhone 5 out of my pocket yesterday evening and tapped the Home button, it came on with everything in black-and-white. Apps open in grayscale and so do album covers, photos and pages in Safari.
I've toggled Accessibility Grayscale on and off for 3 complete cycles and nothing changed.
I upgraded from iOS 8.0.0 to 8.0.2 and nothing changed.
I've toggled Accessibility Grayscale on and off for 3 complete cycles again and nothing changed.
I've powered down and back up and nothing changed.
I've noticed brief flashes of color when I'm on a web page with lots on tiny flag icons as I rotate the screen from vertical to horizontal and vice-versa. Once it gets to the new screen orientation, the color reverts to grayscale.
Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix?

Tried restarting the phone and holding the Home button at the same time several times last month and nothing changed. I was about to give up.
Then Wednesday at work I walked to the restroom, and when I got back to my desk, I saw on my PC I had pocket Tweeted gibberish during the walk. I took the phone out, turned it on and canceled out of a couple other things it had tried to do in my pocket. When the home screen was left, all the icons were back in color. It had very definitely been still in grayscale earlier when I had been reading my Twitter feed at the chiropractor's office before work. It stayed in color the rest of the night. The only thing unusual was the battery was down to 20% and red for no reason when I plugged it in to charge while I was asleep.
But wait, it gets better ...
When I woke up Thursday and checked my notifications, there was a large square white box outline with rounded corners I'd never seen before. It went from side to side, but the height was the same as the width, so it did not fill the vertical screen. At bottom center of the white box was a button the shape of a capsule. Touching it opened a menu of about 5 option, the first 2 of which were Zoom In and Zoom Out, and the bottom option toggled between Show Controller and Hide Controller.
So I swiped to unlock the phone and something very interesting happened when the home screen appeared. The white box outline was still there and the icons outside it were still in color, but all the icons inside the white box were grayscale. When I dragged the box to the bottom of the screen, the icons at the top became color and the icons at the bottom became grayscale.
So I recalled the suggestion to turn off Accessibility Zoom, which it would not let me do earlier, so I tried that again. I held it in the Off position for more than a minute and when I let go, it looked like it finally stayed off, so I restarted the phone. When it came back up, the white box outline was gone, everything was in grayscale, I couldn't turn off Zoom and I'm right back where I started.
This recent episode reminded me that before it got stuck in grayscale, I had for a couple of weeks been having trouble with the phone pocket Zooming for no apparent reason. For several weeks before grayscale started, I would take the phone out of my pocket and at least once a day would have to double tap it with 3 fingers to get it to zoom out before I could even see the place to swipe to unlock it.
So maybe the subject line of this thread should be: I can't turn off Zoom, and that has me stuck in Grayscale.

  • How can I turn off access to the internet at scheduled times?

how can I turn off access to the internet at scheduled times? I use an Airport extreme and several units to extend the range. Kids have multiple devices that I don't want on the network at certain hours. On the other hand, ideally, my wife and I would like to be able to access the internet with our devices after the kid's bedtime and during their school study time.

  • Can I turn off access to individual devices?

I have an airport extreme and am wondering if I can control access to individual devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch).  The perfect scenario, would be for me to turn off wireless access to my kids devices from 9pm until 7am during the school week.  Probably just wishful thinking, but thought I would ask the community.

The Timed Access feature in AirPort Utility for the AirPort Extreme will allow you to set up individual rules for each wireless device that you want to control.
For example, a simple way to do this would be to allow allow Internet access for the devices that you specify........
    Weekdays.......Between.....7 AM and 9 PM
Saturday.........Between......7 AM and 11 PM, (or up to 11:59 PM)
    Sunday...........Between......7 AM and 9 PM
The devices that you specify will only be able to connect to the network during the times that you set.  That won't keep them from using 3G though, if they have it on their iPhones or iPads.

  • I set up Keychain and do not have access to the telephone I gave.  Now I can no longer connect my ipad to my windows computer.  I can not turn off Keychain...it is awaiting authorization from the SMS on the telephone I do not have access to.

I set up Keychain and do not have access to the telephone I gave.  Now I can no longer connect my ipad to my windows computer, itunes does not automatically open when I plug in the USB.  I can not turn off Keychain in my ipad since authorization is pending awaiting the code sent by SMS, which I can not get.  Can someone advise how to get rid of Keychain.  Should I cancel my icloud account?

    I appreciate your help.
Have reset the ipad, but that changed nothing.  I can not turn off Keychain, iit remains "pending approval".  Probably, the only thing to do is to close my icloud account...which I hate to do since there is a lot of data saved there.  But, I am unable to back the ipad up on my Windows 8 computer because itunes no longer opens when the ipad is attached.
Oh well...computers are computers and it is impossible to cover 100% of the situations.
Keychain iss not the best app for someone who lives in 3 different countries.
    Thanks

You sould be able to sync both ways.  Check your default calendar on your phone by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>scroll down to the calendars section to Default Calendar.  Check to be sure you have selected your mac calendar as your default (and not, for example, On My iPhone).  Then enter a new event on your phone and sync to confirm that it appears on your mac.

  • How can I turn off the WLS 6.1 security in order to develop my own application-based security module?

    Dear Colleagues,
I am currently developing a J2EE application using WLS 6.1.
My team and I have to implement a security requirement to suit our company's needs.
The security requirements are that, users' password need to be aged (30 days maximum) and we need to provided a GUI front-end (JSP) to allow users to change their password when these expire after 30 days.
Our internal contacts in the company, have already taken the lead to find out about whether we will be able to use the WLS 6.1 platform to do this and the answer we got back, was.
Now we need to develop our own security module.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. How can we turn off the WLS security in order develop our own application-based security module?
    2. How can we develop a security module that allows us to age users' password and provide them with facilities to change their passwords when these expire?
At the moment, we are using the default BEA WebLogic login.jsp page and there some configuration in the web.xml for this. I will be grateful if you could advise me on how to turn this default security off so that we can write our own security module.

How can you turn off the braille setting on an iPhone 4s, once on it won't let you slide the phone into use mode to change the settings or do anything?

An alternate method is Accessibility Settings when connected to iTunes. You should be able to turn it off there. I would also check out some of the answers listed to the right of this post and see if they can help.

  • I can't turn off picture frame by using the settings passcode...the button won't turn it off.

I can't turn off picture frame on the lock screen.  The button accessed through settings won't let me turn it off.  How do I do this?  Thanks.

You can only turn off Picture Frame if you have a passcode lock set on the iPad - if you don't have a passcode lock then the on/off slider is protected

  • How can i turn off library sharing remotely because i cant remember all the computers or systems

I want to be able to add my new computer to my library sharing however it will not let me. It says i already have 5 computers on the system. My question is as i said, how if possible can I turn off the connection to the other computers?

This isssue is about authorisation rather than home sharing.
You can't de-authorise just the computers you no longer have access to.
Your only option is to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise those you wish to be authorised. You can do this by logging into your account settings in iTunes on your computer (Store > View My ID) and selecting the option to de-authorise all.
Please note however, you are only permitted to do this once in each 12 month period, therefore you would be better de-authorising your computers before you lose access to them. you can do this from the 'Store' menu in iTunes.

  • Can't turn off iCloud in iTunes on MacBook running 10.6.8

I can't turn off my wifes iCloud in iTunes on her MacBook that is running 10.6.8. I have read that that way to tun this off is to go to the iCloud icon but this isn't available on 10.6.8. So how do I fix this issue? She can only get access to 50 songs and not her whole library.

Your question makes no sense, given the issue you describe.
But iTunes cloud function is under the iTunes menu >> preferences >> store.
If you mean iTunes match, that's under the store menu.

  • How can I turn off login keychain?

How can I turn off login keychain prompt?

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid. If the box labeled Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.
