I can't type letters or numbers in my keyboard

I have a Mac mini with an apple wireless keyboard and mouse. A 3 year old kid used it and now I can't type letters or numbers. I went to System preferences and I don't know what to do. Please help me.

I don't think the child could have changed anything in the system - although anything is possible.
Trysomething that might help:
1. Reset the SMC
Since you cannot (from your post) use the keyboard, other troubleshooting steps are not possible.

If you have a copy of it backed up, restore that. If not, back up your computer, upgrade it to Mavericks, and then get the current iPhoto version. If you don't have it backed up and don't want to upgrade, go to the Mac App Store main page, click on Support under Quick Links, contact Apple, and see what they say.

Can't type letters when I am on a phone call

I am having a problem when I call a business and get their voicemail. One option I get is to "choose an extension by the employee's name". In order to do this, they tell you to spell the employee's name- usually the last name first. But, with my BB Curve 8330, I can't type any letters, only numbers. Therefore, I can never reach a business extension by typing in an employee's name.
Is there a way for me to set up my phone so I can type letters while I am on a phone call?

When you get to the point to enter the alpha characters, press the ALT key before each alpha character you need to spell out, or press the ALT + shift to lock it in.
For instance, 1-800-FLOWERS, you would press 1800 (press the ALT key and hold it down while entering) FLOWERS
Same with your office extentions by name.

Can't type Shift t on Apple wireless keyboard

When I try to type capital T on my Apple wireless keyboard, I can't type shift+t to make it. ( when type shift+t shows nothing on my display monitor. ) I have to press caps lock and t to make capitel T. Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Thank you.

start in Recovery & use Safari there - does the problem persist ?
if so, likely a problem inside the keyboard, but try new batteries.
If it works there - test in Safe mode

Can't type (search) PANTONE+ numbers in InDesign CS5 7.0.4 Color Books

There is a glaring issue in trying to select Pantone+ colors by typing in the color number, like 97-8 (from the CMYK Pantone+ book) yields 17-1?! I have no idea why that comes up. And the panel is almost unusable due to this inexcusable oversight. It needs to be searchable by exact Pantone+ number. JUST LIKE REGULAR PANTONE NUMBERS in the regular color book, I could type in 18-1 and get 18-1 not some obscure number.
I have seen a few similar posts without proper answers EVEN IF it said it was answered.
I have pantone+ libraries installed. They just don't work when it comes to typing in the number you want...you have to scroll, and the scroll is way too slow or way too fast and very painful to use.

This seems to only be the case with the Pantone+ Process color books. "Pantone+ CMYK Coated" & "Pantone+ CMYK Coated". This is a huge problem for me since 99.9% of our jobs are CMYK.
And I did reinstall the swatches recently and that did not fix InDesign.
But the Pantone+ CMYK color books work in Illustrator CS5 just fine... you can type in your number and get your color.

I downloaded ios 7 to my wifes ipad 2. The only problem was, with the new system the letters and numbers on the keyboard became so streamlined that my wife had trouble seeing them because of a eye problem. Is there a way to get the old keyboard back and if not how do you uninstall ios 7?

I had thought this situation was solved but it just got worse. In addition to being without service for several days I am now being charged a cancellation fee for a broadband service that BT disconnected in error. BT Vision was also terminated by BT but the set up charges are still in place. Does anyone know who the relevant Ombudsman is? I called BT from America on Friday - for an hour - while someone called Aruj sorted out why there is an order 'in progress' that I didn't initiate; why I have fees relating to a problem created by BT and why there are references to a house move that didn't take place and a BT Vision service I no longer have but didn't cancel myself. He assured me it would be rectified and my bill would be reduced by 139 pounds and we would get confirmation of this later that day. I asked him what chance there was that this would not actually happen - he said no chance at all; my new bill would be 23.50.
There was no text message. An online chat person today told me there had been a fee reduction request which had been declined and there was nothing else he could help me with as he dealt only with broadband. But he would get BT Vision to email me. They always seem so helpful.............

My serial number will not work because it is letters and numbers but I can't type letters into the boxes on the Adobe installer.
I've tried holding shift, putting caps lock on, and leaving it lower case. It just won't let me type letters into the boxes. Is there a work around or some other solution?

Can't type in ActionScript box

Hi,
All of a sudden when I try to type in my ActionScript
instructions in the Actions Panel, nothing types. I hit the keys on
the keyboard and see spaces appearing, but no text. It appears the
text is going into the panel but is invisible. It's similar to a
problem I've had in the past when I accidently knocked my numbers
lock key in the off position and then couldn't type in any numbers
with my keyboard. However, this is not affecting any other program.
It is only happening when I try to type ActionScript. If I move
from the expert to normal mode, the same thing happens...nothing
goes in there. If I try to check syntax I get an error message
telling me why what I have typed won't work, and of course nothing
is showing up as typed. Can anybody help me solve this problem?

Disregard this question. I found my answer. Somehow my
display preferences got changed so I was typing white text into a
white text box, thus my ActionScript was there, but invisible.

Firefox is Hanging (not full crashing) every time I press a keyboard key.. can't type URLs, can't scroll. Problem started this week and remains reproducible sadly.

Firefox hangs (freezes) when I press keyboard keys on my laptop (and only then).
Can't type URLs or scroll with the keyboard, for instance. Hence why this is being typed up on Internet Explorer. The problem is that my version of IE isn't registering Flash and/or Java as being fully active and up to date and I use Firefox more often.
This problem only appeared this week but now occurs every time; and has persisted after uninstalling and reinstalling (personal options uninstalled).

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Thanks, I'm typing this message from an external keyboard borrowed from one of my schools iMac. It is working fine so could this be a serious hardware issue? I upgraded the RAM from 4 gb to 16 gb thinking that would solve the slowness/beachball issue but it didn't. Could it possibly be a faulty SATA cable or time to upgrade my hard drive as well?
I'm feeling like this is beyond my reach and do not want to damage my MBP further. I'll shut it down and take it to the tech store on campus and hope they have mercy on my wallet. Thanks for the help.

Can we capture two types of Serial Numbers for a material?

I have scenario where i need to capture two different types of serial numbers for a material. This scenario is very similar to the below one -
Say if a CAR is a serialized material, then i want to capture engine no. and chasis no. for each car.
I know in standard serial number management, we can capture one kind of serial no. for an item, but can we capture two types of serial number for an item? If yes, how we can do that?

Hi,
No it is not possible to have two serial numbers for a material.
The main attribute of a serial number is that it is UNIQUE.
You can better have the vehicle number as the required serial number and the other numbers under the Manufacturer data of the General data tab of the IQ01 transaction. ( Equipment master creation ).
You can better change the name of the manufacturer data such as Model number to Engine numeber and Manu serial no to Chasis no etc.., using CMOD transactions.
