I can't uninstall Message Beta

When I try to uninstall Messages Beta by clicking on the "Uninstall" option under the Messages menu, I get the dialog box that asks me if I'm sure and that I want iChat reinstalled. It then goes off to find some software and comes back with a message that the software is unvailable. Doesn't say what software. But that's it! I'm stuck with Message Beta which I can't use because the Share Screen option isn't working for me.

The Messages Beta is supposed to keep iChat 6.0.1 somewhere so that when you use the Uninstall Option it gets put back.
(So it is iChat it s trying to find.)
If you have Time Machine I would open up Applications folder and go back until you find iChat (and no Messages) in Applications and then Restore.

Can't uninstall firefox beta release on Windows XP as you discribe

I can't uninstall Firefox 8 beta on my Windows XP as you describe. It appears "''Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?''" Rebooting does not solve the problem. When installing a new version the same message appears. When checking for updates appears "''Firefox is up to date''".

If you still can't start Firefox, do a clean reinstall (use another browser to download the Firefox installer from www.mozilla.org/firefox and, after first removing the Mozilla Firefox installation directory, reinstall Firefox).
The above refers to an error attempting to start Firefox but the same solution might work for errors when attempting to uninstall Firefox (delete the file '''firefox.exe.moz-upgrade''' from the folder where Firefox is installed, then run the uninstaller.) See also [[Uninstalling Firefox]].

How can I uninstall iCloud Beta from my Mac?

Recently I downloaded iCloud Beta and tested it for about a week, but now I want to upgrade to the real version just released. Apparently I missed the part where Apple explained how to uninstall the Beta.

Go to the Messages Menu (The one now nearest the Apple Icon top left)
Select "Uninstall Messages"
This will Uninstall Messages and return you to iChat 6

I have iChat, I tried to trash iChat on applications but it wont allow me to do so.
I had Messages Beta and now that I reinstalled Lion I lost Messages.
Been going crazy Help!

Can't Uninstall Lightroom Beta

Lightroom ver 1.0 will not allow me to install it. I get an error stating I must uninstall an earlier version 1st. Problem is when I attempt to uninstall beta 3, it looks for the installation package which has been deleted. The error I get is "a network error occured while attempting to read the file lightroom beta\lightroom_b3_standalone_07-18.msi.
Any help would be appreciated.

Uninstall Messages Beta and reinstall iChat

After a short test I want to revert to iChat, however the iChat Application has been overwritten. Can I just restore the Application or do I have to restore other files/folders to get the settings buddy lists etc.?

I can't uninstall CS6..

I have had the CS6 trial on my computer for awhile and I was going on an uninstall spree... I can't uninstall this beta version when I try to it just says... " cannot uninstall, you can restart your computer or try the cleaner" I have installed the cleaner aswell and it still did not take it off.....!??!

if you still have the installation files you might be able to reinstall it and properly uninstall it.
otherwise, you should leave it alone or ask someone that's computer-savvy to manually remove your files and clean your registry.

Messages beta: turn off Read Receipt

When I first installed Messages beta, I enabled Read Receipts. But I'm 99% sure that it's causing messages to appear as Read even when I'm away from my computer. Perhaps this is a status issue, since I don't have it set to timeout. In any case, I'd like to disable Read Receipts on the Mac, but I don't see it in Preferences or other menus. Where could it be?
I guess the solution would be to uninstall Messages beta and reinstall it. But I bet there's a hidden pref somewhere.

It is strange as I don't remember the setting on Read Receipts during the set up process.
As I launched it it just asked for an Apple ID.

How can I uninstall the CS6 beta when there is no entry in W7 Programs & Features?

I checked the FAQs and found general instructions which presume there is an entry in W7 Programs & Features. There is no entry in my system, and I found no Uninstall app in any Adobe CS6 folder.
Should I just run the Cleanup tool? Thanks...

Can't uninstall dreamweamweaver cs4 beta

I can't uninstall dreamweamweaver cs4 beta so i can't install
the full version. When i tell it to uninstall it doesn't do
anything even though the setup.exe process is running. I tried
manually deleting the program files but there's still traces of it
because when I try installing the new version it says i have to

We do that for production machines. What Adobe suites do to

Messages beta, does not connect to Internet when trying to use uninstall, but I clearly am on the internet, any ideas?

I downloaded messages beta, and after trying video chat with my wife who was using iChat, I decided to uninstall, and every time I try to uninstall, I get a network problem saying that the messages beta uninstalled can't be downloaded as my computer isn't connected to the Internet, and I clearly am connected thru my wifi, any ideas how to get around this?

Any version of iChat or the Message beta will have issues if you have two connections to the internet.
In fact iChat 4 in Leopard has the worst issues particularly if the computer you are on is Sharing the Internet with other devices (See System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing)
iChat can just about manage in Text Chats to connect with other people.
In Video Chats and Audio Only chats and Screen Sharing ichat needs to be in "One Place"
With two IPs issued from a router for Wifi and Ethernet (See the differences in System Preferences > Network for Ethernet and Advanced Button > TCP tab for Wifi) means that iChat looks like it is in two places.
It is worse if you share the Wifi of a neighbour and use Ethernet yourself.
Using Ethernet may get your computer to access the DNS servers from your router more consistently so that Messages can find the place to download iChat 6 (There is evidence that both downloading Messages Beta and registering the Apple ID needs the correct or adequate DNS server info to work properly)
