My iPod touch currently has iOS 5.1.1. When I was about to use my iPod touch for music yesterday (05/30/12), I saw my iPod touch's screen was pure blank. The only sound my iPod touch makes is the voice control and there were no open apps. When I tried my iPod touch in DFU mode, the apple logo/connect to itunes logo never showed up and the screen is still white. I restored my iPod touch, that didn't work and the screen was still white. Is there a techincal glitch? Should I wait for the next update? Did anyone has/had the same problem? Can Somebody help me with this problem? Should I go to the Apple Store? Should I replace it? Someone please help me. I will be greatly appreciated for your help.

I'm sorry to see you are so frustrated. Try holding down the sleep/wake button and home button together, until the device restarts.
If this still doesn't work, and you have restored your device, it seems like it could be a hardware problem. Book a Genius appointment and a local Apple Store, and they will talk you through repair and replacement options. If you are still in warentee, they will replace it for free. I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup either locally or on the cloud. Much of the music is from old vinyl and podcasts which are no longer available.
How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation) back onto the new hard drive on my pc.
I have been reluctant to install iTunes on the new hard drive out of fear that I will lose all the contents on the ipod if I try to synch to the new hard drive.
Help!No backup is a huge mistake.

My three year old ipod nano 4th generation has been working fine all these years. Suddenly, last week, while it was low on battery (not completely drained), it shut down and I cannot restart it. I have tried all the troubleshooting issues and still did not manage to turn it on. Though. when I press center and menu while connected to my computer, the computer bips has if it recognized that something is trying to connect. Though, it cannot identify it and the iPod remains shut down. I cannot find the issue, perhaps I need a battery replacement?

It's possible. Just take the iPod to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you. -

Sounds like the battery is shot and in need of a replacement. You can have Apple replace the battery for a flat fee or you can send it into a third party repair center for a bit less.
Not much else you can do for troubleshooting this one.

Although FireWire and USB connections will allow multiple iPod devices to be connected to the computer at the same time, iTunes for Windows works best with only one iPod connected at a time. If you plan to connect multiple iPod devices to the same computer, eject any iPod devices that you are not using from iTunes.

I have an IPOD Nano 4th Generation 8GB and am unable to restore it back to factory settings even when it is connected to my MAC. I have tried the menu/select hold but is not doing anything. When connected to the MAC and select restore in itunes it comes up with 'Firmware Corrupt'. It also states the IPOD is up to date. I have the latest operating system on my MAC and wonder if this may be part of the issue?
Can anyone shed light as to what i can do to reset it back to factory settings as would like to sell it and ensure it is ready for the new owner.

I have ran the diagnostics test on iTunes and iPod. The diagnostic says there is an iPod, it is identified with the correct name, but it says there is no sync ability. What can I do? iPod nano 3rd generation. All updates are current.

Weeks, months, years? It's possible your battery is dying. Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
