I can't update Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 (Maverick)

Hallo,
I'd like update Aperture from ver. 2 to 3, for free.
I have OS Maverick and Aperture 2 BOX (not purchased by App Store).
Unfortunately, when I check updates not show Aperture... I can download upadate Pages, Number etc., but Aperture not.
I removed Aperture and installed again but it doesn't work.
Somebody help me?

Aperture 2 is an old bit of software and it barely ran on Mountain Lion when it ran at all.
There have been a lot of improvements to the program since version 2 and you will be doing yourself a favor upgrading to 3.5

  • Can not update aperture 3.1, wrong app store account

I have recently upgraded to Mavericks, and now can not open Aperture, version 3.1.
I tried upgrading to version 3.5, but the app store says I have the wrong apple account for this app.  I only have one Apple account, and all other applications upgrade successfully with it.
Aperture was purchased in a box in version two some years ago, and has been upgreaded a few times, by downloading the upgrade and installing.
I have also moved to a new Mac Pro since the last time I upgraded.
I can find no way to upgrade Aperture, and can no longer use it.  It's essential, I'm a photographer.
    Kind Regards,
    Michael Hund

    Micheal,
you can download updaters for all versions, but Aperture 3.5.  But the manual upgrade should enable you to upgrade to a version that will run with Mavericks at least, even if it will not let you upgrade to 3.5.
On my laptop at home I have Aperture 3.4.5 already
Does Aperture 3.4.5 run with Mavericks, and can you at least open your Aperture library and continue to use Aperture?
The update to Aperture 3.5 is handled very differently from all other updates. What Apple is doing, is transferring your Aperture registration key to an AppStore licence bound to your AppleID.
If you cannot update and get a warning, that your Aperture is tied to a different account, could mean, that there is a problem with your Aperture serial number. I suspect, if someone else had used your serial number to activate Aperture and upgraded it at the AppStore, you cannot use the same serial number again with your own AppleID. Compare the serial number you are seeing in Aperture's "About Aperture" panel with the ones on your Aperture upgrade boxes.  And make sure, that you are signed into the App Store with the same Apple ID on all your Macs, when you are trying the update.
if there should be a problem with the registration code, contact Apple and ask for a replacement serial number:  Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers
Another frequent problem with upgrading Aperture is, that it only seems to be possible, if your main system language is set to "English". Try to set it temporarily to English, while trying to upgrade.

  • Can't update Aperture 3.0 to 3.1.2 downloaded via Firefox.

Hi I'm new to Apple and Apple software. Thinking about turfing my Windows but having second thoughts with this update of Aperture 3.0. I have minimac OSX10.6.3 and Aperture 3.0. I experienced problems with Aperture 3.0 and noted that the update 3.1.2 would solve the issues. Downloaded the 3.1.2 update. Copied the 398mb file to minimac and tried to update Aperture. The error msg occurred "wrong version of OS." I checked http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2518 and it says Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. Can anyone help?

If it says it applies to OS 10.5.8 and 10.6.6 and you are running OS 10.6.3 then your version does not apply.
You will need to update your OS first to 10.6.6 as that is the requirement you have stated.
After that, applying the Aperture update should proceed without error.
P.S. Use software update to ensure you get the right updates rather than downloading from the webpage.

  • Can't update Aperture 3.0.3 to 3.1.2

I am try to update Aperture 3.0.3 to 3.1.2. I do get "Aperture 3.1.2Update.pkg" but when I double click on this "pkg" I get a window with "Install Aperture Update" and on top of this window I get an "alert window" saying:
"Aperture 3.0 or later is required to install this update". When I close the alert window, everything disappears.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Is Aperture in your Applications folder (not nested) and named simply Aperture?
Updater will not find it if it isn't.

  • Can't update Aperture from version 3.4.5 to 3.5 without paying full price.

I read about the new Aperture update to version 3.5 but it does not appear in regular software updates. When I found it in the App Store it is listed at $79.99. I already own Aperture and currently have version 3.4.5. I understood this to be a free update.

It is a free update, most users are getting it without a problem however some users seem to be having difficulty.
First thing the update is only for system running Mavericks. HA=ave you upgraded the OS yet?
If you have is Aperture installed in the systems Applications folder and named Aperture. These two points are important for Software Update to do its thing.
Have you tun Software Update and update from the Mac App Store. In my case it did not show up in the App Store until I had updated from 3.4.5 to 3.5.
Some users have had success getting the upgrade by uninstalling Aperture, reinstalling from their original media and then running Software Update. Remember if you try this you will need your serial numbers for Aperture so make sure you have them before trying it.

Can I update to Mavericks without any problems for CS6 Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro X?

I can't guarantee it, but I think it's very likely you'll have no problems. Mavericks is now up to 10.9.3, and it's extremely stable.

  • Can't update Aperture 3.2 to 3.2.1

For some reason (or the other) I just can't, as the subject line reads, update my Aperture from 3.2 to 3.2.1.
    I keep getting:
"File got corrupted while downloading" (or something)
Which is odd as everything else I update via Apple Updater works fine - iTunes 10.5.1 came down without any problems during the same session...
This is VERY annoying and started after I updated to Lion some time back. I have tried for a good couple of weeks now
The same problem arised when I tried to download (and update) both my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 gen which I finally got updated via Apples website rather than the Software update and by restoring the devices.
Is there anyway I can get Aperture updated without getting the annoying Error message?
    Thanks...

This is when you double click the dmg file or when you are doing the actual install or during the download?
Could you post a screen shot of the actual error window?
Just tried downloading the dmg that the link I posted above points to and it loaded and installed ok. So either you have a something strange going on on your Internet connection or else something on your system is messing you up.
After you get back with the answers to the questions above we'll see what else we can do.

  • I can't update Aperture or iPhoto to iCloud specs

To set up Photo Stream on your Mac, you need iPhoto 9.2 or Aperture 3.2.  My iPhoto is 9.1.1 and my Aperture is 3.1.2.  However when I go to the App store, either directly or from the iCloud control panel in system prefs, I get the message all apps are up to date.  The same thing happens if I go to software updates under the Apple Menu.  Why aren't my older apps being recognized for updating?  Until this is solved, photo streaming is grayed out for me in the iCloud control panel.
I am using Lion 10.7.2, on an Intel core2 iMac..

If you have bought these apps at the appstore : delete them and re-install from Appstore, you will aotmatically receive the latest versions.
If you installed using ilife '11 DVD / Aperture DVD :
download the offline update dmgs from apple.com/support -> downloads , and run them locally.
    iPhoto is at 9.2.1
    Aperture at 3.2.1

  • How can I update Aperture from 3.0.2 to version 3.1.2?

    I use aperture 3.0.2 on a Mac OS X 10.5.8.
When I download the update from the official apple site and try to install, the system says that the update needs ProKit Version 5.1 or newer and that I shoud run the Apple software-update. But when I doo that, the system says, my software is up to date.

Did you by any chance sneak peaked at OS X Lion?? Anyway, you could try to download the ProKit update from here.

  • How can I update Aperture? I'm asked for an ID I cannot remember.

I'm told to download update with ID I used to purchase it. Apparently the Apple techs can't deal with this issue.
What I'd really like to do is consolidate IDs into one.

Have you tried to recover your Apple ID at
    My Apple ID: https://iforgot.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSiForgot.woa/wa/iforgot?
Follow the link: "Forgot yourAppleID?" on that page to recover your ID.

  • Can't update iMovie on Mid-2007 with Mavericks

Even though Apple says that Mavericks support Mid 2007 iMacs, mine has a ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 graphics card and consequently, I can't upgrade iMovie '11 and it has been temporarily rendered inoperable.   Apparenty the new upgraded iMovie can't support this card.
I find it hard to believe that I can run Final Cut X and Adobe Premiere on Mavericks, but not iMovie.
WHY doesnt' Apple let you know that?  Or did I miss something somewhere?
I've had to reinstall my old version of iLife '11 to get iMovie to work again. Now, I'm back to the '11 versions of iLife and if I do the upgrade then it will render iMovie '11 useless.  So now I'm thinking this is a Mavericks issue.
    Am I doing something wrong?

I called this problem into Apple and they solved it for me.  The problem is in the downloader associated with iTunes.  Skip that step and go to Apple.com and download the new iTunes softwere update (Version 11.1) directly.  I did this and installed it successfully.  After restarting the computer iTunes recognized my phone and all was well.  Then I updated and installed the ios7 update without any problems.  No charge.  Full cudo's to Apple!

  • I can't update my iPhoto after upgrading to Maverick

I just upgraded to Mavericks and ever since, my iPhoto (v. 9.2) will not work. It has a grey circle with a line through it over the application. I do see in my app store I have an update for iPhoto 11, but when I try to upgrade it and enter my apple ID, I get this error message. I only have this one apple ID and password, so I have no idea why it is saying this. I am so scared I've lost my photos!!!
    Error message reads:
Update Unavailable with this Apple ID:
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
I do not understand this or what to do. I have not ever tried to purchase this previously.
    PLEASE HELP!!

You must log into th eApp store using the Apple ID that was used to set up the computer
If that is not working then you must contact App store support - link is on the right of the app store windw

  • Advice for moving to, and updating Aperture on, new computer?

I am moving to a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display, from a 6-year-old MacBook Pro. I'm looking for tips to make the transition smoother.
I will be upgrading to the newest version of Aperture. I currently have Aperture 3.4.5. Everything is all on my laptop. The Aperture file is 938 MB, and is SLOW! It's barely usable as it is.
I will be using TimeCapsule to transfer files. My current OS is 10.7.5.
Should I update Aperture before I move it? Should I move it, and then update it? Should I (somehow!) "disconnect" the files from the program and then reconnect them after they are transferred?
I'd like to make this transition as painless as possible!
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

    1. You can't update Aperture past 3.4.5 from 10.8.5 or earlier. You need to move it and then perform the update.
    2. See #1.
    3. No. Just keep a backup of them.
    4. If you got Aperture from a DVD and the new computer's running Yosemite, you'll probably need to contact Apple to perform the update.

  • Can't update After Effects CC

Can't update trial After Effects CC on Mavericks. Pop up Application Manager window and says to contact Administrator.

    Found solution:
"I found the problem is due to AAME installing a pref file which DISABLES updates from working in CS products. TheAdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat file. This is quite a pain and
someone installing Adobe CS with AAME may not be aware that this file is being installed, making it very confusing for administrators.
The solution is to delete or rename the  <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat"
