I can't update apps as itunes doesn't accept my password on iphone 5

I cannot update my apps because iTunes won't accept my password.

Make sure that under the settings app --> store --> Apple ID:[your apple ID here] is correct.  If it is, go to https://iforgot.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSiForgot.woa/wa/iforgot and reset your password to what you want it to be.  If it is not the apple ID you bought the apps on, then change it and try again.
And Drbean: are you logged in under the account you bought them in and entering the current password?

  • How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad?

How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad? I don't want to delete 3 separate times for each item. I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. It wasn't always so tedious was it?
Here's the "Help" I got from Apple. They even quoted my question back to me then proceeded to answer with something very different and completely missing the point.
I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
    1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
    2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
    4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
    5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off.  I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option.  I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back.  This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work.  It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes.  However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

  • Can't update apps with iTunes

    Hi!
iTunes shows me that there are 4 updates for apps (for the iPhone/iPod Touch) available but everytime I click the "x Updates available"-message iTunes does something online and shows then the message:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
I have this problem since I installed iTunes 8. The count for the available updates increases and I can buy apps through the Appstore in iTunes and can also buy music.
I restarted iTunes and my computer, nothing helped.
    Any ideas?

  • Can't update apps, wrong iTunes account associated with them.

I have just a handful of applications that when I try to update the the app store app prompts me for a password to my other account which the apps were not purchased on. All the apps were validly purchased on the first account, but now the apps are associated with my second itunes account and I can't update them. I've gone into the app store app and set the account to my first account but that does nothing for the update, it keeps prompting me for my password for my second account. I need it to switch back to the first account for these few apps. What's odd is that every other app updates just fine and are associated with the correct account, except for just these few. Any thoughts?
The message I get is that "this discounted price is only available to owners of previous versions.... blah blah." well, I own the previous version, that's how I got it on the iPad. But it's a different account. The update prompt does not allow you to change the username/email, only enter a password. Anyhoo, this is getting annoying.

I ran into the same problem. I had purchased apps using more than one account. When updating apps, I would get errors. Here's what I did to fix it . . . not easy, though.
First, attempt to update your apps on the PC. This will update all of the apps associated with the current account on iTunes.
    1) Double-clicked in Apps iTunes (on PC)to open the Apps in another window
    2) Arranged windows so I could see both my apps window and the main itunes window side by side.
    3) Select an app in the apps window
    4) Click on the down arrow right next to the name the Name column which and choose the app name from the drop down list. This will open the app info from the iTunes store in the main iTunes window.
    5) Compare the versions. If the Store version is newer, delete the app from the iPhone and from the PC.
    Repeat for each app.
    Time-consuming but it works.

  • Changing country. Can't update apps via iTunes

Have strange issue with my iTunes. After changing country form Russia to Ukraine my iTunes only searches and displays the number of updates. But when I want to update it and clicking on "update apps" iTunes says "No updates are currently available. To check for updates for another APPLE ID, sign in whit that Apple ID."
But at the same time my iPhone successfully searches and updates all apps for the same Apple ID, and then transfers it while sync with iTunes. What is the problem with my iTunes?

    The solution:
Delete all your apps in itunes you have purchased in previous country
    Reinstall it

  • Can't update apps using itunes 11.03

    I updated to itunes 11.03.
They changed how you update apps.  Instead of clicking the app button on left and getting updates, there is a tab; but, when you hit update the update apps just sit there and won't go away.
    Anyone else have this problem.

I have the same problem with my iOS devices. When I sync to remove or update apps it get stuck on step 3 determining apps to sync and then nothing happens.
Before updating itunes, it was working fine.
I am now using iTunes 11.0.4.4 on a Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
Please help and make the necessary actions.

  • Why can't I download my updates...it doesn't accept my password...changed it several times no luck

Why can't I download my updates....it says my password is wrong...changed it several times with still no luck. What's wrong? When I login to my apple ID it works..whist am I doing wrong?

Have you tried logging out of your account by tapping on it in Settings > Store and then logging back in ?
If that doesn't work then you could try closing the App Store app completely and seeing if you can download updates when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes Store to update Apps (Games) even though it accepts my password?

I Press on up-dates and it ask for my password and starts to download but then it comes up with ( cannot connect to iTunes) Help please

    Now that's really weird.
Hopefully you can find an appropriate contact here.
By the way, do not confuse matters by referring to playing (using) the apps because that does not require a connection to the store.  Simply state that you can download new apps but get the "cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when you attempt to update.

  • Can't update apps from iTunes store..

I'm using my iPad 2 and I can run apps, purchase apps, browse the app store.. But when I click on the updates icon, I get an alert that reads, "cannot connect to iTunes store."
I've restarted my iPad, logged in and out of the iTunes store, turned off wifi and back on.. Any other options?

What has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and changing the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying

  • Can't update Apps installed under my old ID and password I uninstall them and reinstall them from Featured but without success as they show in Featured as Updates, not new Apps.

Cant update iApps installed under my old ID. I try uninstalling them and reinstalling them as new Apps from Featured but they don't show as new Apps in Featured but as Updates.

You would need to log into the App Store using the Apple ID used to purchase these apps in order to update them. Otherwise, you must re-purchase them under your current Apple ID. They cannot be transferred.

  • Cannot access apps in iTunes/refuses to accept my password

    Hello all...
For the past month or so, whenever I open iTunes and wish to either:
    1.  Download updates to my app collection, or
    2.  Open the app section of the iTunes store...
The dialog window opens requesting that I log into my account.  I duitifylly enter all my CORRECT information, but in about 3 seconds the same window reopens again.  I enter my correct credentials, and AGAIN, the same login window appears.
I could do this all day and nothing changes.
    What's weird is:
    1.  The login window that keeps coming back does NOT have the red-lettered warning that I've entered incorrect AppleID/password.
    2.  When I go to the iTunes store, logged in or not, I can view all the content in all areas (music, books, tv shows, etc.) EXCEPT the app area.  When I click on that link at the top, it goes to the app site and presents me with a blank, white-only frame in the middle.
So, I cannot update my apps.
    I cannot buy new apps.
I cannot give Apple my money for anything new?
I wonder if Google would like my business?
BTW: running updated (10.9.1) system/itunes, blahblahblah.
