I can't update itunes because of some missing msi file

Following some suggestions on other thread is was abole to download the Windows installer clean up from this link and it worked. I was able to uninstall and reinstall. Make sure to check for malware. Mine was clean but i can't promise all downloads and that the site is safe.

Requirements for iPhone 5:
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.7 or later
The highest version of iTunes you can install is 10.6.3 which will not sync with the iPhone 5.

Can't delete itunes to update because of missing msi file

Had virus issues with my computer. Now finally got the add or remove list to re-populate and tried to update iTunes. Kept saying error, can't find missing msi file. Read to manually delete all apple/itunes files including quicktime, etc. Itunes won't delete because computer needs to find this missing msi file. Have rebooted numerous times. I've tried updating to iTunes 10.5 through software updates and downloading directly from the website. Each time it says that it can't be installed because the update cannot be expanded and will be checked next time software updates run. What should I do???

I just bought my MacBook Pro and installed the updates... however, when I try to update my iTunes (since it says version 10.6.3 is available) but when it's almost done I get a message stating it can't be installed because the "update cannot be verified". I have been trying to update itunes and everytime I try an error message comes up and says the bonjour feature is on an unavailable network resource. When I click OK, it then says it cannot find the path to bonjour. I am not sure why Bonjour is not allowing my itunes update and would like to know how to fix this problem, so I can update my Iphone, as well. Thank you

I have been having an issue with updating my iTunes for the past month or so, and it turns out my mom is having the same issue. Both of our iPods and iPads immdiatly updated to iTunes 10.7, however both of our computers come up with the same error message saying the iTunes.msi file cant be located. I also cannot uninstall for the same reason. This just started happening about a month ago. I dont understand what happened. When I got to documents however I can see the iTunes setup file right there! Help! Now neither of us can sync.

For those having this same problem, someone else on here had a solution that worked really well if you have Windows. They directed me to a site ---> http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
From there on the righthand side you'll see links indicated by reaccuring double arrows labeled Downloaded locations. Click one of them, proceed to download. Once completed go to Start> All Programs> Windows Install Clean Up.
Click it and find all iTunes files and remove them. After that restart your laptop or PC and then try and download iTunes 10.7 again. It worked out for me really well. (:

Ok. So a while ago quicktime got deleted (but only partially) which won't allow me to reinstall it to fix it. The error with quicktime affected my itunes which I can no longer open. I tried to reinstall everything but I get an error because 1) the older version of bonjour cannot be removed and 2) an older version of quicktime cannot be removed which then says that itunes can not be installed without quick time. But I also cannot delete everything to reinstall. Because when I try to delete either Bonjour or quicktime I get this message: the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable!
I have performed a search on my hard drive to find all quicktime files to try to delete but it won't let me delete the last three files and gives me this message when I attempt to delete: Cannot delete file. Cannot read from the source file or disk. And the other two only allow me the option to open containing folder, copy or extract....
I also made changes on the registry according to someone else' instructions to see if that would solve the problem, restarted the computer but that didn't help either.
Nothing has allowed me to reinstall itunes back onto my computer and without itunes, I can not sync my iphone and get updated! I am using Windows XP by the way

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!
