I can't update my Boot Room in my MacBook

Hi, I need some help because I can't upgrade my Boot Rom, so I can't run Boot Camp 1.2. I have tried everything, and the upgraders told me that my MacBook don't need the upgrade, but Boot Camp don't run.

Boot Camp only makes it easy to create a partition for your windows installation and provides a method to burn a drivers cd. you can do a full installation of windows without ever actually running Boot Camp. if you go to your utilities folder and 'show package contents' for the boot camp app, go to the resources folder and you'll see a dmg name 'Disk Image' which is the drivers package. load this file with disk utility and burn it to a cd, you now have your drivers. you can then use any other method you'd like to partition your drive. I'd recommend using SuperDuper to backup your OSX partition and then boot from your OSX install dvd and use the disk utility on there to create your windows partition. from there, reboot with the windows cd in the drive and hold 'c'. this will begin your windows install. if you still aren't sure what is going on up to this point, you can do a google search to find more detailed instructions on what to do.

Can't update to Boot camp 2.1

I've never been able to update to boot camp 2.1. I've tried downloading from the software update app in Windows, and keep getting error messages. Do I really need this update? I'm using Vista home premium, and never really had a problem. How would I get it to install and update if I do need it? I've tried following Apple's instructions and still nothing.

For what it's worth, Win7 is actually better than Vista. I know there is a lot of laughing going on! Although Ubuntu with the KDE desktop is a lot better than Windows.

Now then, if I can find a replacement to Toast, either on Ubuntu or Windows, I'll be a happy camper!

For 'simple' burning with Windows I use DeepBurner (free), if you look for a complete suite I would propose Nero.

I'm not sure on that. My macbook pro came with snow leopard. So If I was going to sell it, the person would have the os disk and the applications disk(iLife). I'm pretty sure that a computer that comes with Lion has the iLife apps tied to it through the mac app store regardless of how many different people own the computer (all you need is your own apple id). If I try to delete any of my iLife apps I get an error messege telling me it's not possible. There might be a way to do it with a terminal command, but that is way out of my league. Well this is a learning experience for everyone. If the person who sold you the computer said they did not have the Microsoft Office for mac disk or product key code, it should have brought your purchase price down a bit. I think the cheapest copy is about $120. I'm sorry I can't help you with everything. Good Luck.

Can't update to Boot Camp 3.3 or higher

Hello!
I have been trying to update Boot Camp for a long time now and I get a prompt to do so every time I boot into Windows 7 Pro 64bit. The problem is that after downloading and installing the update and rebooting, the computer never seems to recognize that 3.3 is installed. It's been like this since 3.3 came out. Does anyone have any suggestions or have the same issue? If the suggestion is boot into OS X (I have Snow Leopard) don't bother responding; Snow Leopard suffers a corrupted hard drive sector every few months. Last time I had to fully wipe the drive without Time Machine because Time Machine refused to copy that partition.

Check to see under device manager if you have more than one display adapter installed.
Uninstall if any, other than the iMac original display adapter, that should fix your problem.
LogMeIn for example installs an additional display driver.
You can reinstall it after you applied the 3.3 update.

Can't update BIOS boot logo

I've tried changing the BIOS boot logo of my Thinkpad E420, but a specific image isn't working, for some reason. I use the last "BIOS update utility", being 1.26, from here. No error shows up during the upgrade.

I never get any error during the update, I click "YES" on the popup "Custom image was found, do you want to use it", but if I chose the second image, I get a black screen at the BIOS logo (Computer continue booting normally, and I can access the BIOS - but I have a black screen).
What's wrong with the second image? How is the second image different from the first one, that does work? I don't get it. :/
I can also succesfully restore the BIOS logo to the Default, if I delete LOGO.JPG from the update folder.

the only difference that I can see immediately is something which caused me problems with a particular web publishing software once, took me ages to find the bug. Your second picture has JPG as the ending, the first jpg - maybe the utility is case sensitive on file endings??

Where can I get the Boot Disk for my macbook pro? Downloading OSX Lion is taking too long

I got a macbook pro that was owned by someone for a few days before. I tried to restore to factory setting but now downloading OSX Lion is taking forever with my internet connection. Can anyone help me find a boot Disk to speed up the process?

Apple no longer sells a Lion installation USB flash drive (they did at one time). SO you'll just have to wait for the download to complete. It's best to 'hard-wire' the download - not over wifi but with an Ethernet cable connected directly to your router. That will gain you some speed.
You could also try taking your MBP to a friend's home where they may have a faster Internet service. My download speed is 22+Mbps with my cable company - you may have a friend or neighbor who has something similar? Of course, you are always at the mercy of Apple's servers - sometimes they're just overloaded and a download that should take 20 minutes can take up to an hour and one-half.

Can't update AMD graphics card drivers in Macbook Pro 15" 2011

I've been having this problem for a while now, and from what I understand, it's a fairly common issue with bootcamp but I have not been able to find a solution to the problem nonetheless. I am using a 15" Macbook Pro from 2011 (purchased in early September, not sure if that was before the 'late 2011' model or not), running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 through bootcamp v4.0. The graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6750m last updated on 6/13/2011 to version 8.812.0.0.
I have tried many times to update the card using the AMD catalyst control center supposedly made for windows 7 in bootcamp, but no matter what compatibility options I choose, the installer either tells me there is no graphics adapter (auto detect) or just crashes immediately after starting installation of the catalyst control center. I've also attempted reinstalling bootcamp several times, each with a fresh download of the windows support software, though I have not completely uninstalled Windows 7. I'm not sure if the problem is with the bootcamp drivers themselves or with AMD's software or a combination of both, and a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I know this is completely the wrong spot for this, but while I'm here, does anybody else have issues running EA's Origin download service? I just installed it in bootcamp a few days ago to play Mass Effect 3, and ever since then my computer gets display lag (e.g. in windows media player the video freezes for a few seconds at a time, while the sound continues playing) sometimes, especially during and after attempting to play Mass Effect 3. I already checked to make sure that both Origin and Mass Effect 3 are fully up to date, so I thought it might have something to do with the graphics card.
Anyway, thanks for the assistance, and I apologize for asking a question that has probably been answered several times. I searched through several posts, I couldn't find any answers to my problem.

Despite all of these helpful posts from the community, I'm still coming up short. I'm attempting to update my ATI Radeon HD 6770m driver on windows 7 64-bit. I've followed this guide:

Every time I attempt to install the driver after rebooting, I receive an error message stating "Driver install: the INF file was not found" with a log stating that the driver failed to install upon completion.
When I attempt to use control panel>Device Manager>Display Adapters>Update Driver Software>Browse My Computer For Driver Software and then choose the appropriate file path (including subfolders) or by choosing from a list of device drivers and selecting one of the two inf files in c:/amd/support/12-2_mobility../packages/drivers/display/w76a_inf, I receive the following error message:
"Windows Encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
AMD Radeon HD 6700m Series
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
I'm hitting nothing but dead ends here. I just want to play SWTOR with an updated driver!
Please provide a detailed, step-by-step solution (if you have one). It is not safe to assume that I have any experience regarding graphics drivers or running windows in bootcamp. Thanks in advance.

Can't update to 10.5.8 on MacBook Pro (currently running 10.5.2)

I want to update to 10.5.8 in order to Install the latest version of Safari so I can install the latest version of iTunes. However, when attempting to update the OS my MacBook Pro continually freezes very early in the configuration process. I've tried this for weeks and run Clean My Mac several times in order to free up more than enough disk space. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are you running the original Apple-supplied RAM or have you upgraded it with third-party RAM?

You can select 8GB of RAM in the MacBook Air if you configure the MBA with the additional memory at the time you order your MBA from Apple. You cannot upgrade the memory after purchase.

Should I update my boot rom?

Greetings to all,
I just purchased a power mac g4 1.25 dual processor. I have the boot rom 4.5.7f1. I read somewhere that it cannot be updated unless booted in os 9. I do not have os 9 on this computer. I was trying to find the boot rom download for this computer but was unable to.
Can I update the boot rom, without os9, and where can I find it.

Is boot ROM the same as firmware so that there is no update at all?
Yes, and if no update is available from Apple, then it can't be updated and/or isn't needed.
