I still can't update, i get error 3252 every time, after over 500mb is downloaded, not happy to waste all the data i could use for other things.
is there another way i can download the update? it just never work, tried multiple time

    The most common causes are:
Your antivirus, firewall or router security is blocking access to Apple's servers - try temporarily disabling them - if you have Kaspersky this is definitely the problem
At some time in the past you used this computer to jailbreak, unlock or otherwise hack ANY iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad - if this applies to you your hosts file is corrupt and you will have to edit it and remove any lines that contain "gs.apple.com"

  • I can not update my Ipod Error 3194

I can not update my Ipod Error 3194

This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

I had the same problem. Although I did get 7.1 to work for a while and then suddenly all podcasts coming errored with 39. Also despite Windows recognising my iPod, itunes would never pick it up unless I went into service and manullay stopped and started the ipodservice.
Anyhow gone back to iTunes version 6. Will wait for iTunes 7.2 for one final try.....before giving up.

You can update the iOS using wifi, i.e., not connected to your computer.
If you are not connecting to the internet via wifi:
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Can't update any podcasts

    Hi
With itunes 7.0 and 7.01I can't update any of the podcasts that I have subscribed to, and I can't update my ipod. I tried repair permisions, but they were alright.

I re-installed iTunes 7 twice and then for some reason changed the prefernces to keep all the podcasts and not copy files to the iTunes library and I can (for now at least) down load all the podcasts that I'm subscribed to.
Pity spell check doesn't know "podcast"'.

  • I can't update iWeb. Error message:  "The disk may be damaged or full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges." I had received a response that gave me the "best" FTP, it was one that gave each iweb user their own support person. Need info again

I keep getting an error message, sometimes the beginning part changes but it always ends with the quote above. I haven't had the time to work ont his in a few weeks, but weeks ago I got a response that indicated the "best" FTP to use, because they give each iweb user their own support person with whom the user can speal everytime, instead of getting as new person each call/email.
I am currently with 1&1.co.uk, which was recomnmended to me by a friend who is much more website intelligent than me: he designs websites for a living. They may very well be very good for someone who knows what they are doing, but they are not so good for me or for Apple users. Since I am paying every month for not being able to get updates published, I would be willing to pay for an FTP which would give me, a novice, resal Apple support. I also do not want to have to completely redesign my website or loose my website address, so I want to transfer the whole critter to a new FTP.
    Thanks

  • Can't update ipod nano: errors 1417 and 1428

I bought my 4gb iPOD nano a month or so ago and initially it worked perfectly. For the last week when I plug it in to my PC iTunes detects it and lists what's on it but won't update it or write to it in any way: it variously gives me error numbers 1417 and 1428. Bizzarely I can copy files onto it absolutely fine through Windows. I can't even restore it to factory settings since I can't write anything to it! Help!
    Thanks very much

  • Can't update iphone. unknown error (-23) help pls!

I cant seem to update my iphone 4. keep getting an error message "unknown error (-23)" anyone can help?

Hi, I've just manually updated mine SUCCESSFULLY! Make sure you SYNC ALL your data first
This was the method I used (courtesy of http://www.nickpan.com/2011/10/15/iphone-ios5-upgrade-unknown-error-23/):
Download the iOS5 manually. See http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-download-available/
Copy the iOS5 file to (For Windows 7 users) “C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates”.
Go back to iTunes and hit “Update”.

  • Can't update my Podcast Description - Help plz

Kia ora all - I sure hope I'm posting in the right section, I've also recently uploaded our podcast and am trying to get the main "podcast description" updated (the one you see when you click on one of the many possible podcasts).
I'm using "FeedForAll" but can also edit it in DreamWeaver. I just can't figure out where it's getting the old description from (when I look in the xml file I can't even find the one that is on iTunes. I've pinged it to update and it has just not correctly.
DOH! Any help would be great appreciated

Using FeedBurner can sometimes confuse things, but usually it's worth the hassle, because it so fun to see your stats (It is also great for making your XML code render nicely in a browser.) Be sure to read their terms of use before you burn your feed, though, because you want to first make sure that you are comfortable with the rights they may gain over your content.
I hand-code my feeds and use Burner, and have never run into an issue (I only have SmartFeed and BrowserFriendly activated); some people do have problems though. One thing you need to keep in mind is that signing up for FeedBurner will give your feed an additional URL, one that iTunes won't know about unless you jump through some hoops. This new URL is the one that has to be subscribed to in order to count subscribers/downloads. (That's a confusion factor right there - and it is the biggest problem you will have if you want to use your FeedBurner feed in iTunes.)
One method to fix that problem: If you have access to your server and understand the contents of the following, this is the method I use to keep my feeds under my control. Make sure you know what each of these steps mean and how to implement them before you make any real changes. This method has the added bonus of not needing you to make any changes in regards to iTunes, because they are also automatically redirected.
However, there are other ways to skin that cat, and they can be found here in the Technical Spec (look at the section on <itunes:new-feed-url>). If you are new to podcasting and iTunes, I would recommend reading through all of the Spec, so you have a basic working knowledge of how their system functions (or is supposed to function, anyway).
Otherwise, you can burn your feed and not mess around with telling iTunes about it, but the stats you get won't count your iTunes subscribers. Who you want to count is obviously up to you.
This post got sorta long and wandery, and I can't tell if it makes sense anymore, so if you want me to make any clarifications please ask.

  • Can I update my podcasts manually

    Hello all.
I've been podcasting for a while now, I've got the recording and editing down.
However I'm still struggling with the whole XML Feed part of the process.
I started the podcast by hosting through my own .mac webspace, uploading nice AAC files.
I've decided to move to a dedicated hosting company and go just for MP3's.
Now, some of our listeners prefer the direct access to the MP3's via the host than using iTunes to receive the AAC's and I totally understand that. So I'm more than happy to loose the chapters and iTunes / iPod image and use MP3's exclusively.
My problem is that I wish to redirect my iTunes store to now pull the MP3 files from my new host, in order to not loose our subscribers or reviews.
I've done a lot of research into this and even been in touch with Apple customer support regarding the redirect which "should" solve my problems. I have tried to edit my RSS Feed which currently lives on my web space (which from what I can tell is what drives the shows which iTunes can see) and redirect this to my new feed (generated by my new host). But alas iTunes did not update, so I reverted back.
So I'm wondering if maybe i'd be better off manually editing the RSS Feed myself, each week after i've uploaded the new episode to my new host as an MP3, i'd be able to copy and paste the information for the previous show and edit the information (including the actual location of the file).
Now I'm hoping that I wont have to actually copy and paste the detail, I'm sure I've seen XML readers out there which can help me do this with greater success than doing it in word pad.
If anyone can help me with this I would so grateful. My new host provides statistics of downloads, at the moment I'm only able to see how many people are manually downloading the show from my web site and not how many subscribers I have.
Thanks in advance you good good people.
    Matt

    Thanks for the advise Roger.
I'm still a little unsure where to begin though.
I've been linked to that page many times now and each time I read it, I still leave scratching my head.
The whole <itunes:new-feed-url> tag for starters, do I need to wipe my entire xml file as it stands (it currently points to all of my shows) and replace it just the redirect link?
It also refers to maintaining the old feed for 48 hours. What exactly does maintain mean? Surely if the redirect is in place, wont the file have to forever stay there, as I was under the impression that my iTunes store will ALWAYS point to the originally specified xml file.
Again i'm probably wrong... but still need guidance
    Thanks again
    Matt

  • Can't update apps, no error given

trying to update apps, enter password, it says "installing" for a second, then just goes back to "update", no error.
try to enter incorrect password on purpose, it says incorrect password, so that's not the problem.
    help?

    Hi NorbsLumia,
Error code means that the item is missing from the Store.  As a workaround change Country/Region settings as United States, then update apps. After that you can switch back to your original country settings.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Can not update itunes.  Error of missing file itunes64.msi

I am trying to update my iTunes software to version 11.0.1.  I am running windows 7.  I get an error message itunes64.msi is missing.  (within the message it says the feature is on a network that is unavailable).  When I google it there are many references to this error, but no quick and easy solution.  Any thoughts?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
