I can't update my shuffle and all my songs in the library have grey dots

I recently bought my ipod shuffle. everything worked fine for about a month. then i accidentally disconnected my shuffle before it was save to and now my shuffle will not respond. it no longer plays and i cannot update my library. every song in my library that used to work now has a grey dot next to it. i have reinstalled itunes and have the most recent ipod update of 3-23-06. I have restored my ipod to normal settings and now i cannot get any songs to update to my shuffle.

You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it. Can I use a shuffle and a 1st gen on the same mac

I use my 1st gen ipod for pod cast in the car. I want to get a shuffle to take just a few podcast with me when walking. Is it possible to use a shuffle and another i-pod on the same mac. can I manually transfer a couple of pod cast to a shuffle?

Itunes 4.9 is fine but I really would recommend getting the latest Ipod updater they just made another bug fix for the shuffle in the latest Ipod updater. http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

Everytime i open itunes, it has to reload all my songs into the library.

Everytime i try and open itunes, it asks me to agree to the licence agreement, then re-loads all my songs back into the library.
I have uninstalled and downloaded itunes but it still does it.
How do i fix this, is there a way of locking the songs into the library?

There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. The contents of the Music app aren't included in a device's backup. If you can't remember your id then do you have any its purchases on your computer's iTunes library ? If you do then selecting one of them and doing 'get-info' (control-I) should show the account id that bought it on the Summary tab. Or you can try this page http://iforgot.apple.com
If you haven't got a copy of your iTunes purchased music anywhere (e.g. on your computer's iTunes or on a backup of your library) then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content.

First thing I think would be to do a search for the folder in case it's somehow got moved.
Failing that, you can retrieve the folder from your original installer disc using Pacifist.
Insert the disc (don't boot from it) and open the installer package with Pacifist. Navigate to the Desktop Pictures folder (might be a bit more fiddly to find in the package structure). When you find it, select the folder, right-click (or ctrl-click) and select 'install in default location' from the context menu.
Exit Pacifist and eject the disc.

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You should still have your profile folder, so when you install 3. you will get your bookmarks and other user data back.

like roaminggnome said you should see your contacts again once you sync with iTunes. if you used iCloud before, make sure contact sync is turned on and your contacts should be back.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.
