I can't update to iTunes 12 on Windows 7.
I am trying to updating iTunes to vs 12 on Windows 7 32 bit. I can't install....it goes clear thru the installation process, and then the error pops up with this message. I am doing it manually
The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\nb.lproj. The installation cannot continue Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator
I have checked and I "am" logged in as administrator. There is no password. There is only one account on this computer. I can't click on the update and choose Run As Administrator......
My current vs is 11.4
Please help.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

The installation stops before iTunes could be configured.
It tells me to run the installer again but I get the same message that my system has not been modified.

On a Mac OS X version 10.4.11 and itunes 9.1.1. Can't update to itunes 10.6, Mac too old. Trying to get a previously purchased song. Can't use the purchased option under quick link - nothing shows up and won't let me purchase an already purchased song. What can I do?
If possible you need to upgrade OS X. However, what you can upgrade to is dependent on what your Mac hardware and configuration is which you have not provided in your profile.

The same way it is updated on every other version of Windows, simply update the software.

Can't update my iTunes... Everytime (iTunes64.msi) can't be found pop up... Any pointers...? Thanks...
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
i can't update my itunes and it shows me this message: The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:/program files/itunes. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator
Hello PamelaFox14,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you need to log in as the administrator to update the iTunes application properly.
Take a look at this article named:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
This section in particular:
1. Make sure you have administrator account access
To install iTunes or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure if you have administrator account access, you may find this Microsoft article helpful:
Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator?
Otherwise, refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visitsupport.microsoft.com for more information.
All the best,

I can't update my iTunes to the 10.6.3 version. I am currently using the 10.6.1 version on Lion. Everytime I try to, it'll start but by the end, it will show me a prompt that says that it can't complete the update. Why is this happening?
I'd try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple Website:
