I can't update to the GM of iOS 6. What can I do?
I currently have the new iPad which is running a beta version of iOS 6 from the net but now when i go to update to the Gold Master of iOS 6 in iTunes is says that I am currently running the latest software. Then I tried a direct download. I used Alt, Check for Update and it said that the firmware wasn't compatable. I really want to ditch the beta version. How can I start runnung the Gold Master. All Help will be appreciated.
Go to the developer's forum since you must be a developer to have the beta.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit Numbers by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Numbers icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Then try Numbers again. -
I have a Mac OS 10.4.11 that can't update to the newest version of Itunes. It does not recognize my new Iphone 4s. Is there other any way I can sync my phone? Apple support recommended that I update my Itunes from 9.2 to the new version but it won't install.
You cannot use an iPhone 4S with iTunes 9; you must have iTunes 10.5 or later, and that will indeed not run on Mac OS X 10.4. You'll need to upgrade your computer's OS to at least Mac OS X 10.5.8.

I am an Aperture user and I am tired of managing my old iphoto library seperately. In order to use the new combined aperture/iphoto abilities i need a newer version of iphoto. Apple says that the new iphoto is free, however my iphoto (version 8.1.2) did not update. How do i update iphoto so that i can use the library with Aperture?iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband are free. iWork is not as it's an upgrade and not an update. Upgrades for iWork have always had to be purchased. However, the previous iWork apps will work fine with Mavericks.

Wondering if you have a current Backup on iTunes ...if yes you could put the iPhone in DFU Mode by holding the Home button while you plug in the lightning cable. Then you could Restore the iPhone to Factory Settings on 8.0.2 and after a full Restore go back and then Restore from your Backup. This happens every time a public release occurs. Many folks on the Golden Master or otherwise in the AppleSeed program with a Beta version for some reason don't move to the official release ...then the software time-bomb hits and they can't upgrade.

Every since my Bionic updated to the new Google Play Market, I can only download or update apps when I am in a WIFI location, regardless of the size. This is very upsetting. Does anyone know why this is?
Have you checked the app settings for the Play Store?
Motorola also has data or power management settings that can restrict how applications can downloads updates. -

If you're still around I hope you see this message, as you're the FIRST person (after reading every link, thread, other sites, apple support articles, etc.) to mention JB may be causing this iTunes popup window to REPEATEDLY occur:
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted."
No, I did not hack anything (are you kidding? Grannies don't hack!), but I unknowingly bought a 3Gs iOS 3.1 from ebay that was not advertised as JB. Since it is like brand new, I was going to keep it (because my old backup is iOS 3.1.2) & was trying to simply restore & update, which (I thought) would remove the JB (that's what everybody says at forums, etc).
Instead, after "erasing all settings/content" (inside phone's Settings to get the prior person's name out of there), it is now stuck in White Apple Mode.
Put it in DFU/Recovery Mode & connect to iTunes but that stupid above message keeps appearing & I have already read/tried EVERYTHING to get rid of that message, starting with:
1. OLD phones (3Gs) with OLD iOS 3.1+ should work FINE with OLD Mac (iBook) with OLD OSX (Tiger 10.4.11) with OLD iTunes (9.2.1[5]). So that can't be the problem.
Here's all the other things apple & others say to check which I already checked:
2. USB ports are FINE, both work FINE, so that's not the problem.
3. No "extra USB devices" are connected, ONLY a mouse, & then the phone (yes, I tried it w/o the mouse connected but that didn't help).
4. No "usb hubs."
5. Latest iTunes for this OSX has already been DL'd (iTunes 9.2.1[5]). If you know of a newer one for this OSX, please advise.
6. No antivirus software.
7. No security software.
8. No routers; only 1 comcast modem, period. Wired Ethernet.
9. No wifi gadgets, no wifi at all.
10. No firewalls, except what is on iBook in the SHARING/System-Prefs. section. It's turned OFF.
11. Did the hosts/terminal thing sudo nano whatever it was. There were only 3 lines, NO gs.apple.com:

xxxxx broadcast host
xxxx local host
Oh, & btw, ATT officially unlocked this phone (after I filled out their online forms) but I can't finish the process via iTunes to get their Confirmation that "Device is Now Unlocked," so I can use T-Mo.
So that's it. If you have any other ideas of what to do from here, since from your comment, maybe it's the stupid JB on this phone that is causing the problem (???), please advise.

Surely iTunes should be upgraded automatically? It always has in the past.
Typically a computer does not automatically update itself. This would be highly undesirable in my opinion. What if it was it started doing it just as you were going to do a presentation? I have never heard of iTunes automatically updating itself.

You can let Software Update do this if you wish.

No, you shouldn't but once a month somebody complains here than an update wiped their iTunes collection. Not sure I believe them since i don't see how it could do it, but you should always back up first.

Correct. An iPhone 5 requires iTunes 10.7
When I try to upgrade via iTunes, it tells me that I have the latest version.
Maybe it is the latest version your computer can run with the operrating system version you are using.
