I can't upgrade my Aperture libraries since update to 3.3 (3.3.1)

Since I update my Aperture to the 3.3 version (included the latest update which is 3.3.1 I think) I'm unable to upgrade my libraries, which are located on 2 external HDs, via USB. My macbook has only 11.68 GB of free space, and one of the libraries is about 36 GB.
Everytime I try to upgrade any of the libraries by the time the progress bar is up to 60% a window appears with the next message: The library “Aperture Library” is open in (null).
I have tried everything I read on the discussions about upgrade to 3.3, but nothing works!
- Repair Permissions. Did it many many times.
- Repair Database. Did it, but tried more than one time and sometimes the same error appears while trying to do this repair.
- Rebuild Database. Never had the chance to do this because always send my first to upgrade the library and then the error appear again.x`
Please, somebody help me. What can I do? Should I wait until apple update to 3.3.2?
I have weeks trying to solve this issue.

Did you look at the thread that tdoyle pointed to? And did it help?
If you ctrl-click your Aperture Library, then select "Show Package Contents" you will see folders like this inside the package:
Open the folder "Database" inside this package, then the folder "apdb". There should be a file called lockfile.pid. This file contains the process id of the program currently using this Aperture Library. Delete this file and then Aperture should be able to use the library again.

I can no longer open pdf's since updating to iOS 5.0.1 - how can this be corrected?

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • I can't upgrade to Aperture 3.2

Using the system software update it says my system is up to date.  I am running 10.7.2 and ios5 on an iphone and ipad.  I tried downloading aperture update package from the downloads site and when running the update it get the following message "The version of Aperture installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available."  When I do this as previously said it says I am no updates are available.  Thanks for any help...

I have the same issue.  I am running Aperture 3.1.3 on a current Macbook Pro.  I also did the updates to 10.7.2 and iOS 5. When Software Update didn't offer the 3.2 update, I then went to the support downloads page and downloaded 3.2.  When I went to update, the installer said I need to have Aperture 3 installed.  Therefore, my system no longer thinks I have Aperture installed.
I am able to load and use 3.1.3.  Any ideas on a fix?

  • I can't access my Aperture Library after updating to 10.6.8

After OSX 10.6.8 update Aperture is unable to open one of my current libraries because of 'incorrect permissions'.
I can't change the permissions as they're greyed out.
    Help?

Are you logged in using an Administrators account?
When you write that the permissions are grayed out what are you referring to? If you could attach a screenshot of what you are seeing it might help.

  • I can't load godaddy hosted sites since updating to firefox 6.02, this happened with 5.0 as well

I'm running Windows 7 sp1 64-bit on a Core2 Duo E4500 processor with 2 GB ram. Since upgrading to Firefox 6.02, I can't open sites hosted by GoDaddy.
They don't give an error, or any information at all. All I get is a white, blank page. There is no code behind it when I 'view source'.
This happened when I upgraded previously to version 5.0 also.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • Can't open the mail application since updating to 10.6.6

    Hi,
Since I updated to 10.6.6 I can no longer open my mail application. I get a message stating that "You have version 4.3 (1081/1082) of mail. It can not be used with the Mac OS X Version 10.6.6."
When I was updating my mail was not in the application folder but within a separate folder in the app folder, so it may not have been updated.
Now my question is how do I solve this, I can't work properly without the mail application!
    Thank you!
    Svanton

    Hi Svanton,
One suggestion would be to take the Mail App out of the folder you put it in and then download and install the 10 6 6 Combo Update…
    Available Here...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
I would also recommend doing a Permissions Repair both Before and After running the Update…
    Hope this Helps,
    Cheers

The system upgrade failed. This could be the result of a network interruption or a more serious error.  If this problem persists,
    please contact customer support.
    SFPPRXY1P.intranet.cajastur.es>
    Thanks

Regarding 1st issue: it could be that new firmware is already installed.
Look on page 3 of release notes (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/content_security/RAID_controller_firmware_update/raid_firmware_upgrade_release_notes.pdf)
After you run the firmware upgrade, the firmware upgrade package will display in the list of available upgrades even after a successful installation. The presence of this package does not indicate a failed upgrade.
    Step8
To verify that the upgrade has run successfully, you can run the upgrade script again after the machine has rebooted. If the upgrade was successful, the upgrade script will indicate that the appliance does not require upgrading
Regarding your second issue: upgrading software:
    - do you have internet connectivity to update servers (maybe check upstream proxy settings..)
    - what's your current software version running (did you check upgrade path)? maybe you need first to upgrade to 753 or some other version..
    - maybe reboot will solve the problem?

  • Can't install Adobe flash player since updating to Yosemite

I upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks and keep getting message that I don't have Adobe Flash player but despite several attempts to download it, message keeps appearing. Systems preferences shows that I have latest Adobe player installed

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
              Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
              Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

  • Can't open a new project since update to 7.1.1!!!!!

Well, I can no longer create a new project in iMovie 7.1.1 since I updated today! Anybody else run into this problem? I open up the File menu and the New Project menu item is grayed out.

Same here. Every 'File' menu item is greyed out except 'Import from camera'.
Tried re-installing, but 7.0.0 crashes, probably due to left over garbage from the 7.1.1 update.
Just updating to 7.1 also greys the menus out

  • Can't connect to the internet since updating

A few nights ago I got a message that there was an update for my AirPort Extreme. It was late, I was tired and I clicked "ok".
I have not been able to connect to the internet via the AirPort Extreme since then– right now I'm on dial-up.
I took the AirPort Extreme off line and connected my Mac directly to the DSL modem and it worked.
Earthlink, my ISP, says to configure the AirPort Express using DHCP. When I do, I get a message that my wireless device does not have a valid IP address.
Something's not clear to me in the set-up for the AirPort Express. It asks if I connect to the internet directly or through another device, like a router. Prior to re-installing the AirPort Express, I connected my DSL modem directly to my Mac. But I want to connect the DSL modem to the AirPort Express and then connect the Mac to the AirPort Express. Are they asking for my pre-install configuration or do they want me to tell them how I'd LIKE IT TO BE CONNECTED?
If I can connect to the internet via a direct connection to my DSL modem, what is the correct procedure to set up the AirPort Express between the DSL modem and my Mac?

OK, I got it working. Not really sure how, but I'm on the internet and I can stream iTunes.
I figured that the settings of my successful connection, (sans AirPort Extreme), should have some bearing on how I made settings in the AirPort Utility, so I opened System Prefs, clicked on Network and made the prefs in the AirPort Utility match up as best I could.
Then I got ambitious and got the AirPort Express to work, sort of. I can stream iTunes to the Living Room AirPort Express, but when I try to play through multiple speakers, I get an error message. But I had this trouble before the update.
When I look at the Network prefs now, it says that I'm connected to the wireless network I set up on the AirPort Extreme via my AirPort card and it says that Built-in Ethernet is set up to use PPPoE and the cable for Built-in Ethernet is not plugged in, (it is in fact plugged in).
I'd rather be connected to the network via Built-in Ethernet, but for now this will do. I have other things that need doing.

  • I can't open a pdf file since updating to firefox 4.0. I have foxit reader installed and it worked before. Adobe is not compatible with Firefox. What do I need to do. I need to file my income tax online and can't because of this issue

Just can't open any pdf files. Having no luck trying to fix myself.

For Firefox users, there might be a built in pdf viewer, or a preferred viewer that handles pdf files.
I am not having any trouble logging in, so lets try this:
    * Remove any cookies from the cache: [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer]]
*[[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] if there is stored user data that is removed in this process: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
