I can't upgrade my iWork

hello guys,
i have downloaded a trial version of iWork and after checking from iTunes, i noticed that an update for it was available and i updated it. from the iTunes it said that installation was successful but when i tried opening keynote from launchpad the installation process for the trial version starts all over again (but of course i did not reinstall iWork).
thanks
p/s : i have not updated my OS to mavericks since it is a large update and it failed downloading several times. (but im almost there)

It's not the 10.7.3 install by itself which disable iWork '08.
I had iWork'8 and iWork'09 installed when I applied the 10.7.3 updater.
Both are behaving flawlessly.
I just guess that you deleted the file :
Macintosh HD:Library:Preferences:com.apple.iWork08.plist
I hope that you may retrieve it in a backup.

  • Can I upgrade iWorks'08 to iWorks'09 on Mac OS 10.7.5?

I have iWorks'08 (Pages 3.0.3, Numbers 1.0.3 , Keynote 4.0.4) on my MacBook Air using Mac OS 10.7.5.  I bought a new iMac (10.10.03) with Pages 5.5.3, Numbers 3.5.3, Keynote 6.5.3). When I try to open a document, it says I need to save them in iWorks 9. Can I upgrade for free on my MacBook Air?

Apple no longer sells the iWork '08, or iWork '09 DVDs, or offers the individual applications through the OS X App Store. If you still have the iWork '08 DVD, you can install it on Yosemite 10.10.3, and then apply the individual iWork '08 application updates. This will get you a free iWork '08 that works on Yosemite. Then you can export your Pages '08 documents as Word documents, and they will open in Pages v5.5.3.
iWork '08 updaters (assume iWork '08 installed):
    Pages '08 v3.0.3
    Numbers '08 v1.0.3
    Keynote '08 v4.0.4
For less than $25USD, you can purchase the iWork '09 DVD and immediately apply the Apple iWork 9.3 updater to it. This too runs on Yosemite, offers improved features over iWork '08, and 100+ feature improvements over Pages v5.5.3. Don't use any of the free Pages, Numbers, or Keynote that came with your iMac.This would be my recommendation, and then look for a longer-term word processor that allows you independence from proprietary Apple documents.

  • I currently have Max OS X 10.5.8. What can I upgrade to that will still allow my programs to work (iWork '08 mainly)?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If you're using a PowerPC G4 or G5 Mac, nothing; they can't be upgraded past 10.5.8.
If you're using an Intel Mac, click here and look the applications up.

As Niel states you can use your current iWorks.
If you want the latest version you will need to purchase the componets in the Mac App Store.

  • IWork '05 can I upgrade it to '06 ?!

    Hi
Few month ago I bought iWork '05 ... can I upgrade it to '06 or should I buy it for the same price as it would be new program ?!

That is odd, maybe they should have a grace period or something much lower than the $80 to get a new version. If it's any condolence, since coming out with it in '04, they've revised it every year; which is why I waited to upgrade to '06 from '04 once I figured out how addicted to Apple I am, and when it was they were going to update it.

  • I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Why?

Shouldn't Pages, Numbers, and Keynote show version 9.?? My MAC confirned installation of v9.0.3 and even accepted the software code. With this discrepancy, how can I determine if the latest was installed and operational? I even downloading v9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.1. When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • When I upgrade to iWork '09 will I be able to open my previous .pages files

YsDa have book manuscripts that I want to be able to work on using my iPad which required iWork '09 since none of my exports from version 1.0.2 was not good enough. So I sort of went into panic mode because the DVD drive in my old PowerBook is sort of wonky and I can't upgrade my so beyond 10.4.11 and now what? But as luck would have it I found a new iWork '09 on eBay (the slightest scratch would not allow an install on my persnickety computer) and it was cheap too! It should be here in a couple of days. So now I worry..
Will I be able to open my old pages files up with the new version??? I have several completed books now up on amazon that I would love in the iBooks store, so I need to be able to open those files. And I have two unpublished manuscripts that I would die a thousand deaths over if I cannot open them ever again.
Has anyone ever run into an opening crisis following an upgrade???
    M

I currently disagree with your suggestion not to write a large document in Pages. At least, so far, with my version 1.0.2!  My first book was 8x10 and 440 pages long with 27 full page images. No problems there. The trilogy books are each 6x9 and the shortest is 432 with the largest 500 pages. Again, no problems. Not even with exporting to a pdf file for CreateSpace. And with the one book that was 440 pages long, there were over 100 pages of index. Then when I wanted to create a Kindle book with that index cross-referenced AND entirely clickable, there were thousandSSSSSS of links that I created in Pages. Pages being the ONLY app that could handle the sheer volume of that task. I was impressed. I'm still impressed.
My problem is that my computer...a PowerBook 13" that is was only able to have a grand total of 768 MB of RAM (I know...it's laughable...but that is the way it rolls at top speed).  I tried to install more but it wouldn't accept it, being that 1000MB of RAM was it's max and the one chip was soldiered in and I couldn't get it above 768MB. So that's my world. It's limited. And yet, my old Pages and this old computer has done AMAZING things. Actually, amazing,is an understatement.
When I do write, I put placeholders when an image might need to go. The trilogy has an image as a decoration at each chapter. So there are 22 of those in each book too. I originally used low res images to hold that place, but I have one all ready to publish and it has everything in it that it needs and it opens fine.
What I would NOT do is create a gigantic color picture book. I would definitely limit my images. Not only for the sake of being able to open the file, but because it would be too expensive to publish something via CreateSpace in color.
I have tried Libre Office. I was not impressed. Same with Scrivener. Pages has been outperforming them both on all counts. So far. After I try the '09 version, I'll make another assessment of my needs vs software. And I will continue to pray that my little PowerBook will keep running (so far, so good). Even if it's only to use Pages that hasn't been dumbed down and my Photoshop, because it will be a blizzard in you-know-where before I pay Adobe for Photoshop by the month. That just will not happen.
When push does finally come to shove, I will figure out what I'll do then. I'm not even sure I would buy another Mac. There have been too many changes that I don't particularly like enough to pay so much for only to despise. I have always loved Macs because they were Artist friendly. There was so much that could be accomplished using one. They have been worth the expense just to be able to make dreams visible. But now, it seems that the power of the computer is being reduced to that of a cell phone and a tablet and that is just not going in the right direction at all. I am hoping that all changes. Soon.
I've been setting money aside for a new Mac. As the money has accumulated, the Mac's have changed. Not to be what I had wanted though. I am hoping by the time I drop the last dime in the pink piggy there will be a machine that is right for my eclectic purposes. If not, I'll spend a small portion of it on a big PC and spend the rest of it on a cruise.
Thank you all for answering my questions.
    Peace.
And say a little prayer that Mac doesn't obliterate the specific needs of artists/musicians/movie makers/writers/animators/and all the others who need more than the bare bones basics to keep us happy.

  • Can I Upgrade Directly From Tiger To Snow Leopard?

I'm operating OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) on a pre-2008 Macbook with an Intel processor. I'd like to upgrade to Snow Leopard.
After doing a little research, I didn't see anything on the Snow Leopard packaging or on the Apple website which clearly states this, but can I upgrade directly to Snow Leopard? The Apple Store says Tiger users must buy the Mac Box Set (which includes iLife '09 and iWork '09). I really don't want to since I don't plan to use the features of iWork and can purchase iLife '09 separately.
Basically, my question is, can I upgrade to Snow Leopard (using a Snow Leopard upgrade @ $29) and, if so, will my prior version of iLife still function or will I be forced to upgrade to iLife '09. I'd rather pay $95 for things I know I would use, compared to $170 for extra, unused software.

    "Snow Leopard Upgrade Requirements
Snow Leopard requires an Intel-based Mac.
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard users, buy the upgrade.
Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger users, buy the Mac Box Set."
I don't think there is any technical limitation to installing a clean 10.6 "upgrade" on a compatible machine, running either 10.4 or 10.5, however, the 10.6 license, that buyers must agree with, relies on the "honor system" for compliance.
I am about to upgrade my black MacBook to 10.6 with the Box Set, my Intel MacBook shipped with 10.4, one of the later models not long before 10.5 came out, and as I skipped 10.5, the 10.6 Box Set seems to be the only option, even though I am not interested in iWork so much.

  • Can I upgrade my Sony Laptop's Graphic Card?

My laptop is relatively new and I only bought it a few months ago, model #VPCEB. It currently has a 512 MB ATI Radeon HD 5470 which I want to upgrade so I can have StarCraft II run smoothly because it is kind of choppy right now. I just want to know, is there a way I can actually upgrade my computer and what would be a good graphics card?

It used to be that some laptops would come with 2-3 options of graphics chipsets, and you could swap between them, plus manufacturers might use the same form factor for a series of laptops (For example, all Dell Inspiron 8000 series units used the same card form factor - so you could upgrade an I8000 to the graphics chipset that came with the I8200).  This is no longer the case, even the highend gaming laptops don't have upgradeable graphics.

    HI all,
Can I upgrade my HP ENVY 14 DR DRE Laptop to a blue ray and SSD drive?
    cheers

You can upgrade from HDD to SSD drive, but will not recommend it as it will void the warranty on the unit.
Pertaining to  bluray drive, you might have some compatibility issues unless you find the right model.
