I can't use any drop-down menus

When I click on a drop-down menu, sometimes it will flash for maybe 1/100 of a second. So some menus will not allow me to complete what I am working on.
Below is a good example. I have no way of knowing what you want in that text box

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields

Just installed ans updated InDesign CC on win7 64x. In the dialog boxes. if I want to click with the mouse say on a drop down menu to change point to inches. Nothing happens. Also if I try to click into a field to type a value. nothing. Same for up or down arrows next to value fields.completely frozen when it comes to mouse clicks.
I can use the tab keys to jump around and input values. But this is a deal killer for productivity. This problem is also on the tool bar if I want to change fonts, size etc.
    Any advice?

  • Can't Scroll Inside Drop Down Menus

I just got a new HP laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), installed Firefox 11 (now updated to 12), and discovered that when using the track pad (Synaptics Touch Pad v8.1. Driver provided by Synaptics, version 15.3.29.0 dated 10/13/2011), I can not scroll inside drop down menus.
To replicate, go to this link: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/sss/
Click the drop down for the category to search. Use the track pad to scroll the list. Mine closes the list and returns focus to the browser instead of scrolling the list. It then scrolls the browser window instead. This works fine in IE. Things I have tried:
    Safe mode
    Unchecking smooth scrolling
    Unchecking autoscrolling
    Unchecking hardware acceleration
And just about any of the various combinations of the above things. I also tried restarting Firefox each time I made a change. Nothing seems to solve this issue.
Oddly enough, if there is a text window inside the page (like the on I am writing this in), I can scroll that just fine. Once I move my mouse out of the box, it scrolls the main page just fine. I don't think it's a matter of the focus following the mouse, it has something to do with scrolling drop down boxes specifically it seems.
Also, I should note that all the pages I have problems with work fine in IE the way they SHOULD work in Firefox.

It's Synaptics Touch Pad v8.1. It is using a driver provided by Synaptics, version 15.3.29.0 dated 10/13/2011, and is supposedly the most current version. I have tried getting newer off the HP website, letting Windows search for the most current version, and looking at the Synaptics site, but I still end up with the same version.
I have double checked the scrolling regions to make sure I am within them as well as all the other settings regarding the touch pad. In fact, I had to enable the scrolling regions because they were disabled by default and instead used two finger scrolling. For what it's worth, two finger scrolling gives me the same result - it does not scroll the drop down menu.
As I said, it works just fine in IE and all other programs, so I'm not sure I understand how the drivers for the touchpad could be the issue. It seems to me it's more likely that Firefox is not interpreting the "signal" from the touchpad correctly, yet IE does. Then again, I've been wrong before...

  • Muse will not open any drop down menus while in design mode.Screen just flickers.

I downloaded the new update and while in design mode in muse in one of my pages I cannot access any drop down menus like for example choosing fonts hyperlinks ect.I cannot do any of it I uninstalled and re-installed 3 times I don't know it this is a graphics issue or not how can fix this?

Are you using Windows 8 or 8.1 ?
The Muse 2014 release is incompatible with 125% Display scaling via the Windows Control Panel in Windows 8 and 8.1. The only workaround is to switch to 100% or 150% Display scaling.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • I don't have any drop down menus for burning playlist to disc

It has something to do with Segoe fonts in your Windows system.

  • How can I use two drop down lists for one time value?

I want to enter the length of time that someone does an activity in hours and minutes using two drop down lists, then enter them as a single time value (H:i:s) in Mysql.
I've used the basic drop down lists, and a few different variations of the following with no success (seconds is a hidden field with a value of "00"):
                           GetSQLValueString(strftime('%H:%i:%s', strtotime($_POST["sleeptimemin"]." ".$_POST["sleeptimehr"]." ".$_POST["seconds"])), "date"),
This returns 00:00:16, no matter what is selected on the drop down list.
    Any help would be appreciated.

MySQL stores times in human-understandable format, using the 24-hour clock.
    GetSQLValueString($_POST['sleeptimehr'] . ':' . $_POST['sleeptimemin'] . ':00', "date"),

  • How can I remove transparent drop down menus?

I do a lot of screen shots for technical documents and the drop down menus are a problem because they are semi transparent on my new (bought used) macbook pro. Is there a way to make them more opaque on the MBP? I had another macbook pro (same model) that did not have this problem.  They are both 2008 model 5.1 17" inch.

I do a lot of screen shots too and while I don't know of a way to alter the menus themselves, I tend to shoot them over blank white documents. Or if the document window cannot be white for some reason, I move it down out of the way and shoot the menus with the Backdrop application in the background. The Backdrop application (free at the App Store) does nothing more than put up a black full screen window which I set to white and then stack behind the current application.

  • When I open Facebook in Firefox, I can't view messages or use the drop-down menus in the top toolbar.

These problems only occur when I access Facebook in Firefox. The same problems don't occur in Chrome.
I can view my Facebook message inbox, but when I try to open a message/message thread, it doesn't load. I just see the loading icon.
Similarly, if I try to use the icons in the top menu bar (notification icons on the left, arrow on the right), I don't get a drop-down if I click on them. If I click the notification icons on the top left, I should get a drop-down showing the recent activity, but instead it just switches to the icon showing that I don't have any new activity. If I click the arrow on the right, I should get a drop-down with account options, but instead it just takes me straight to the "General Account Settings" page.

Thanks! I just did this, and now Facebook messaging and the drop-down menu both work.
To be honest, I'm not sure why this fixed the problem-- I had already gone into my list of exceptions and set www.facebook.com to "Allow," but for some reason adding facebook.com and setting it to "Allow" solved the problem.

  • CS5 Panels acting bizarrely - unable rearrange the dock panels and cannot use the drop down menus

The panels are not functioning properly in my new version of CS5.  Several things are wrong:
I cannot click a panel tab and move it.  When I click on a panel, nothing happens.  I tried moving the swatch panel to the bottom of the dock and I got nothing.  I tried Command Click and I was able to move the swatch panel off the dock, but when i tried to re-dock it at the bottom of the panels, it would not dock in.
Also, when I try click on the menus in the panels in the dock, nothing happens.  I have to click multiple times....and then the drop down menu just appears for a milisecond and then disappears....so I am not able to select anything.
    Oh...and I am working in 32 bit.
Anyone have a clue what to do?

Sounds like your problem is solved.
If you look at Alien skin's website regarding CS5 (http://support.alienskin.com/Article_BB9D5.aspx), then you'll see that they state that their plug-ins are CS5 compatible, so maybe you have an old version, or maybe you want to let them know about this issue.

  • All of a sudden, I can no longer use my drop down menus when wanting to go back to websites that should be in my history. It just blips on the screen and disappears! when wanting to shop online, I have the problem tooHow can I remedy this problem?

    Please help

    Mike,
Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer.  Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected.  It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated.

  • How can i connect 2 drop down menus? on numbers

hi i need to connect 2 popup menu, for example my first popup menu would be fruit, meat then if i choose fruit next popup menu will populate banana and apple then if i choose meat next popup menu will populate beef and mutton.

    Hi Bathuu,
I think that is called a hierarchical menu, but I don't think that Pop-Up Menus in Numbers support that.
One way could be to have all you food items in one column. Type them, select them all, then Format Panel > Cell > Data Format > Pop-Up Menu:
Start with Blank (it will show None) is handy if you want to cancel an entry. In the Format Panel you can drag menu items to reorder them, or double click to rename.
Another way (if you want to distiguish different food groups) is to have another column with Pop-Ups for Fruit and Meat:
Then you can sort the table by Food group or Food.
    Regards,
    Ian.
