I can't use my keyboard for long in CS4 - very odd
I have 2 computers and when I try to use the keyboard for shortcuts on my second computer, some weird dialog with chinese characters pops up shortly after I start using the keyboard and I can't use the keyboard for shortcuts after that point, ever. I'm pretty sure it's within CS4 because it doesn't happen at all in Windows.
What the heck is this and how do I disable it?:
I see... this is the first computer of mine that I've ever kept the factory installed OS on in my life. Lol. Bloatware.

How can you use the Keyboard for a JComboBox within a JTable without F2
I am brand new to Java and I can't seem to figure this out. I have a JTable with 4 columns. The first column is a jCheckBox which is working fine. The other three are JComboBoxes. They work fine when you click them and select from the list, but our end users only want to navigate with the keyboard. They want to be able to tab to the column and just start typing the first letter of the item that they want to choose from the list and have that pop up the list and scroll to the first item in the list that starts with the letter the typed. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been playing with this for a week now and I can't seem to make it work. Please help. Below is the code for my table. Any help would be appreciated greatly. you should be able to use Touch ID without needing your passcode. If none of those circumstances is true and you're still being asked for your passcode to make a purchase from the iTunes Store, it would seem that something is amiss with your iPhone.

Once the keyboard is connected, it should work with any app that uses the standard keyboard interface, so it will work with iWork.

It seems that the ony way I can use the touch ID for App Store and iTunes is if I have a passcode to get into my phone. I don't want a passcode, it get in and out of my phone too often to have to unlock it all the time and I hate manually typing in my password for App I buy. Why can't it do both, isn't the touch ID just as secure for purchases even if you don't have to unlock the phone to get to it??

Thanks everyone. What worked for me was a version of the suggestions above. I had the problem with the ≠ character appearing in all my Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcuts and rendering them largely unusable. However, I don't have any other keyboards besides US English enabled on my Mac. I do have Spell Catcher installed, which works through the keyboard input method. So, I switched from Spell Catcher back to English (with the US flag), launched Photoshop and presto, my keyboard shortcuts were restored, absent that obnoxious ≠ symbol. Once in Photoshop, if I reselect Spell Catcher, the ≠ symbol returns so I have to run Photoshop without the help of Spell Catcher - or forego the use of keyboard shortcuts while it's on. Since the developer of Spell Catcher passed away last year there will be no more updates to the otherwise very useful utility. Apparently this keyboard shortcut problem in the various guises reported here is linked to some element of the OS X input method in Mavericks, as Photoshop seems to manifest the issue in relation to one specific input source or another. This is the first application in my experience to have a problem with Spell Catcher in OS X 10.9. So I will continue to use it, except in Photoshop. Spell Catcher was never updated for Mountain Lion or Mavericks so people like me will have to use it "at our own risk" as the saying goes. Be that as it may, it does appear to be a bug in Photoshop that's at the root of this matter as different people have somewhat different problems with the OS X input method - not that I expect either Adobe or Apple to do anything about it.

I downloaded the OS X on my air and I can't use my keyboard and it won't let me restart my computer because it says that the application assistant canceled the shut down, I don't know what to do
When all else fails (it sounds like it has) hold the power button for about 10 seconds. This shuts down the computer. Then tap it to restart. Since it sounds like the OS upgrade began but then failed to perform a restart you may find that the Install Mavericks file is still in the Applications folder and you can try again. Or you might find that you have to redownload. I don't think the installation is going to proceed as if the computer had successfully restarted but I could be wrong (and in this case gladly so for your sake.)

ThanksIt is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

I know this look complicated. so I'll break it up into smalled pieces:
first the "&" is called the concatenate operator and joins two strings. like this:
a string is a set of characters between double quotes.
so "string 1" & "string 2" becomes "string 1string2" or "Sam " & "Jones" becomes "Sam Jones"
you can use cell references instead of strings directly in which case the concatenation is performed on the contents of the cells.
so if cell A1 contains "Hi " and the cell A2 contains "There" then A1 & A2 will result in "Hi There"
so you could add the formula
A3=A1 & A2
this is short hand for select cell A3 then type everything including the A3 so that A3 contains "=A1 & A2" (omit the double quote)
OK. So the formula I provided concatenates several items together:
it concatenates A2, then the string " is " then a formula, then the string " years old and likes the color " then a formula
the two formulas (highlighted in blue) perform a lookup of the value in cell A2 in columns A thru D of the table named "Data". If if finds the value in cell A2 in the first column of the lookup range in the table Data (column A) then it returns the value from the same row but in the second or third column.
all that is in a function calld iserror() to trap the condition where the calue you enter in A2 does not exist in the table Data:
