I can't view in landscape mode anymore :(

Hello,
When I bought the iPhone 4, I was able to view all the pages and my photos in landscape view every time I rotate it 90 degree to the left (or right).
But now it seems locked, I can view them only in the portrait mode
and I don't know how to fix this problem.
Thank you

Is your screen rotation lock on?
If it is there should be an icon in your status bar that shows a clockwise arrow with a pad lock in the middle.
To remove the screen lock double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen and then swipe from left to right on the multitasking bar. There should be a screen rotation icon/button on the left side of the bar. Press it to remove or enable to screen lock.

You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.

  • IPhone 6 month view in landscape mode??

hello, was wondering if there is a way to view an entire month in landscape mode on the  regular iPhone 6 just like we can on the iPad?? Couldn't find it and would love this feature if it doesn't exist. I don't schedule things by the hour. I think the screen is plenty big for this and the month view in horizontal mode is useless since the little dots won't show colors.
    Thanks for any info!

I haven't found a way to display the whole month in landscape view on my iPhone 6. May not exist. You can send feedback to Apple about this here:

  • Why will iphone not play video in landscape mode anymore

I am a HUGE purchaser and user of iTunes Music Videos and on my iPhone, I was happily playing them in playlists and watching them in landscape orientation as a video playlist.
I was quite upset when I bought my first iPad and found that it simply would not support this basic (for me) functionality.   But I searched and found a music video playlist app and purchased what SHOULD HAVE BEEN included functionality on the iPad.   Seriously, if the iPhone could do this basic operation why shouldn't the iPad, which is much better suited for video playlists with the bigger screen?
Now, after updating to iOS7, you've broken the functionality even moreso.   Imagine my joy, surprise and sheer level of cursing and swearing when I turned my videos into landscape mode and found some dickbag has decided I should see album covers instead of my video in full screen on the phone.
So, Apple, the "We sell devices so that we can also sell the media" company,   why are you screwing with something that should be basic and intuitive on the phone and ipad?
I, and I expect everyone else, expect to open the music app, go to the music videos playlist automatically generated in that app (BY your programmers) and then be able to play the videos from the video playlists you allow me to create - my own playlists in both portrait and landscape modes.
So please fix this ever-increasing pain in the ***.    I will not be purchasing any more videos (And yes, check my history, I am quite likely in the top 5% of purchasers of music videos) because you are slowly removing the intuitive methods for playing them.
    David Patrie

A revolutionary A7 processor with 64-bit architecture, and none of those bits are smart enough to figure out "hey, maybe if my owner is listening to a video in the Music app and switches to landscape mode they're more interested in seeing the video larger, not unrelated album art thumbnails. Let me temporarily borrow the landscape view logic from the Video app."?
I hope they fix this at least by iOS 8. It's not logical (let alone user friendly) to exit out of the Music app and go into a separate Video app just to see a music video in landscape. The ironic thing is the Video app forces videos to be landscape – as if the logic it follows is that anyone watching a video really wants to see it in landscape – but yet that logic gets kicked off the boat when the video digits cross the river over to Music app land.

  • The message pane obstructs view in landscape mode.

In the landscape mode of my iPhone 6+, the left hand pane which displays messages (in the message app) or recent emails (in the email app) obstructs useable screen space.  I am a 2 thumb typer and like using the landscape view for messages and email.  I have not found a way to select whether I wish to display that pane, or not.  Is there a way of doing that?......or can we convince Apple to provide one?

Thank you!! That was too simple, I kept checking settings

  • Can't print in Landscape mode since installing Snow Leopard

Since the installation of Snow Leopard 10.6.2 I can't print in landscape format from application such as Word, powerpoint, Turbo Cad, etc, on my network printer. This is despite changing my page set-up and printer settings My only work around at the moment is to print to a PDF document and print a hardcopy from there. Any thoughts...??

    Hi fruhulda,
1000 thanks for your help. I've tried everything you suggested. Nothing really fixed the problem except creating a new account. In the new account, I could open and use Pages documents I had created before I switched to Snow Leopard. And all of the functions seemed to work properly, including copy and paste.
In order to use my old, pre-Snow Leopard documents, I had to put them into a shared folder, so that I could access them from my new account. Does this mean I'm going to have to move ALL of my files from my old account into a shared folder, bring them into the new account, and make the new account my main account? If so, that seems like a lot of annoyance and a lot of work. Not that I'm blaming you--thanks for the fix. It just would have been nice not to have to start from scratch.
Also one or two worrying things came up when I did my disk repair, namely, the following two messages:
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFramework/DesktopServicesPriv.framework/Versions/A/Resou rces/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired.
I did some looking around in old forums and other people have gotten these messages before and seemed to be pretty worried about them. I don't really understand what they mean, and I guess I'm wondering if I should be worried about them too.
Again thank you very much for your help so far.

  • Viewing in landscape mode

I am running FaceTime on a MacPro. Viewing seems to be locked in portrait mode. When I go to Video/Use Landscape (Command+R), it is grayed out. Do I have to be connected to someone for this to be active? I notice the Enter Full Screen option is grayed out as well. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Yes, you must be connected to select this.
Also, when you select Video > Use Landscape, it changes you camera to Landscape. The person you are talking to sees you in Landscape. To see them in Landscape, they need to change their settings.

  • Why did my calendar view suddenly change? Using iOS 7.1 and I've been using this version for a few weeks with no problem with my calendar. Now the view has changed and I can't view a list mode without seeing the month too

Why did my calendar view suddenly change in iCal? I've been using ios7 fôr a few weeks now with no problems. Suddenly, without any updates or anything, the calendar view changed and I can no longer view it as a list without having the entire month seen as well.

    Hey Gattypyle,
Thanks for the question. You simply need to go back to Day/Week view, then tap the list-view icon once more.

  • Drive view in landscape mode still too small even ...

Sorry but I downgrade my maps version to 3.06. the new drive layout is still leaving the actual maps viewing area way too small.I am using an N8 with belle FP1. The car symbol on the street/road should be re-aling to the center of the main screen and the L/H side buttons/information zone could stay bigger for ease of use but could also become semi-transparent instead of plain black to let see the remaining of the map to have a full view. At least with ver 3.06 when ''just drive'' was selected all the unnecessary informations is remove to give ''close to'' full screen view apart from the bottom menu keys.to have a close to 4 inch screen and only get a 2 1/2 view of the mas while driving is very sad.
For the maps portion now the favorites are white square with a yellow star in it, the blue square with the white star was better looking on maps 3.06 and also the rendering of the main roads where ranging from yellow to red depending of the speed zone. This also was better looking than the drab gray of the new version either on maps mode or on drive mode.
All the rest of the improvement are great in term of better ease of use while driving but defenitely some element from the previous 3.06 version should have been kepted from my point of view.

  • Can't view Sent mail contents anymore

I have been using Mail for about 1-1.2 years since getting this new computer, when all o fa sudden and for no apparent reason, Mail stopped allowing me to view my sent messages . Often times I will need to forward a sent message or resend a sent message, but can't now. When I click on a sent message it says, "The message from ...concerning..... has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it." I have a POP account if this helps identify the problem. Any help is appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the Discussions.
If you are running 10.3.9, as the info beneath your post reports? If so, you have an Overstuffed Mailbox, meaning it has become large enough to be a problem for Mail to properly index. Read the User Tip linked below, if this is the case, but post back immediately if you have upgraded from 10.3.9:

  • Can't View my Iweb page anymore

    Try http://web.me.com/Username/

  • Pictures not in 4:3 ratio got truncated in landscape mode in iPhone 4S

I have some screenshots taken in the computer in various ratios, not 4:3.
When I view them in my iPhone 4S in portrait mode, I can see the whole pictures, although there are some black background above and below the picture due to the ratio.
When I view them in landscape mode, some parts in the top/bottom or left/right are skewed. I have to manually zoom them out to see the whole pictures.
Is there a place where I can configure the settings so that the whole pictures are displayed when viewed in landscape mode?

That's just the way the iPhone automatically loads pictures. If the ratio of the picture is slightly off from that of the iPhone screen, it will automatically zoom in the picture so that no empty black space is showing.

  • UIWebView in Landscape Mode Only

Is it possible to drop a UIWebView in an app and have it view in landscape mode only. I understand and can get autorotate to work, but I'd like it to stick in landscape mode regardless of the phone's orientation.
If so, how do I go about doing this?
    Thanks

You need to go to the iPhone Developer website with this question.
